About this vendor
If you're on the hunt for a live band that is fun, friendly and delightfully different then look no further. Our clients say things like "Holy cow! I can't believe you just played Old Crow Medicine Show and Outkast in the same set!" and our personal favorite, "Are you all related?” To us, that is the utmost compliment. We like to think of ourselves as musical siblings collaborating to make each wedding an experience. Instead of trying to duplicate a song you've heard on the radio, we "gussy it up" into our own style. We take pride in being able to deliver something slightly unexpected and see your guests go nuts on the dance floor. We like to walk away from each gig with a room full of new best friends.

Gussied completely blew my mind. Liz was lovely to work with, band manager and band member. She was really friendly, professional, and sweet! They sounded INCREDIBLE all day and ev...
ening long. They played during my ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. They learn a few songs to play and they mastered the ones I asked them to play. My guests were dancing all evening long and I honestly cried a few time with how amazing they sounded. Best decision ever to hire them for our wedding. Best dance party of my life. I was worried guests would not be dancing like crazy to folk music, but I was wrong.
These guys are truly special! We initially hired them pre-pandemic for our May 2020 wedding that we had to postpone. They were extremely kind, patient, and flexible as we changed p...
lans several times. We ended up having just four of them to better suit our 50-person socially distant wedding. Even though we couldn't have a dance floor, they were still the hit of the wedding. Our friends and family still talk about how much they enjoyed Gussied's music and energy. The ceremony music was also incredibly beautiful and memorable. On the wedding day, they couldn't have been more professional. I'm so happy we made the decision to work with Gussied, and I wholeheartedly recommend them!
Working with Gussied was one of the best wedding decisions we made. Most importantly, they were a phenomenal band that played the most amazing music for the whole weddings: ceremon...
y, cocktail hour and the reception. Second, they were really down to earth people who were really great with their communication and ability to work with our song choices. Third, they added an element to our wedding that we would never be able to replicate.
I also found their pricing to be extremely competitive. We listened to worse bands that were thousands of dollars more. I actually thought Gussied was a complete steal. Also, they are so unique and cool, they are really stand-out compared to other bands. In the best way I felt like I was at a private concert, but even better it was still our wedding. Randy was able to MC the whole reception and they didn't over-shine our day, but rather elevated it to be literally the best night ever!
If I could afford to hire them for every special event for the rest of my life, I would. Without question.
Wish I could give them 6 stars! Gussied is so fun and professional to work with. We first heard about Gussied as we were touring Chicago wedding venues and each venue coordinator a...
fter getting to know our vision and style a little bit recommended Gussied. We seriously had them recommended by at least 5 different venues. We worked with Liz the band manager for months ahead of our date and she was so sweet and communicative. They arranged several songs for us and really made us feel special. Randy the MC had all our details and timeline nailed down and did a great job communicating with our guests. We love bluegrass but many of our guests were skeptical when we told them we were having a bluegrass band at our wedding. They all loved it! Gussied plays covers and keeps everyone happy while also putting their unique spin on it. Liz had to bail last minute for an emergency but she found a replacement and communicated the change perfectly. We weren't phased by the switch at all. Thanks Gussied!!
Best decision I’d made (other than marrying my husband of course!). Gussied was beyond amazing to work with and really made our wedding that much more special. Our guests are STILL...
talking about how the band kept them dancing all night long. Super friendly and super talented group of people!
We were so happy we picked Gussied to play at our wedding! If you want talented musicians to play real music at your wedding, they are the band for you. From day one they were amaz...
ing to work with, happy to accommodate all of our special requests, and exceeded our expectations in every way. We constantly hear from our friends and family what a great wedding band we had- some people said it even felt like a personal concert! Thank you Gussied for making our special day so perfect.
It has been about 3 weeks since our wedding, and the number one compliment we hear over and over is how fantastic the band (Gussied) was. Yes, a little depressing - but I get it.

Their talent is ridiculous. But even more impressive is the time they took to get to know us and our family before performing. Liz and Randy were open to whatever ideas we had and took a good amount of time to discuss various things (many we wouldn't have thought of) prior to the wedding to make sure they got it right.
We hired them to play our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. (Yes, I recommend the same). Their willingness to be flexible with some of our requests and ability to change on the fly was fantastic.
While everything was great, I truly think Gussied was the highlight.
BEST BAND EVER! Gussied did an amazing job at our wedding last week. They played our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The ceremony music was lovely, they did beautiful rend...
itions of the songs we requested (including the Talking Heads).
The real highlight though was the reception. From the moment they started playing our dance floor was packed. I really cannot recommend them enough!
If you are thinking about booking Gussied, no need to look any further. This group is nothing less than magical! I still get chills when I think about our rehearsal dinner. Which i...
s a lot to say, because they went above and beyond sweating through our outdoor event, playing in 97 degree heat! They made our wedding weekend! I desperately wanted them for our wedding reception, alas they were already booked. But Liz offered to customize a three piece set for our rehearsal dinner. I assure you this will be the best money you spend. They are the real deal! Just hope that they are not already booked for your date!! Seriously stop reading and contact Liz immediately. Happy wedding!
Gussied seriously knows how to bring the party! We invited them to play for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and they did not disappoint. Liz and Randy worked with us to ma...
ke sure everything we envisioned for our special day would be realized and, let me tell you, we did not plan the most traditional of weddings. Everyone in the band is not only very personable but also simply a wealth of creativity. If you want to have a wedding that your guests will not soon forget, Gussied is a key piece to the puzzle. Seriously, our guests haven't stopped gushing about this band, even though the wedding was almost two months ago!
My husband stumbled upon Gussied in some sort of magical way! We were planning a laid back, outdoor barn wedding, and Gussied was above and beyond all expectations! They were very ...
helpful with picking out music selections, our dance floor was full immediately after dinner, and people could have danced into the wee hours in the morning with ease! The entire band was professional and so much fun to be around! They were also very open to traveling to Michigan for our event, and we are SO happy they could! Gussied - the Loe's will forever love you - and if you're thinking about hiring them for your event, don't think twice!
My husband and I hired Gussied to play at our wedding on June 27th, 2015. Initially, we were worried that our friends and family wouldn't dance to a bluegrass-folk style band playi...
ng pop covers, but we had a farm wedding, and wanted a live band with great reviews that would fit the venue. We talked on the phone with Liz and she was very helpful and professional. She assured us that Gussied would get everyone on the dance floor - and she was right! We also hired a ceremony musician through Gussied to play keyboard so my grandfather could sing during our ceremony. The musician even arrived early so he could run through the music with my grandfather. Gussied also coordinated behind my back with my parents so that my father could perform a song he wrote for his father of the bride speech. My mom was very happy with the way Gussied helped her set it up. Thanks so much, Gussied! If you are even thinking about hiring Gussied - you should! You won't regret it!
Gussied played at our wedding in October and people still comment on how great they were 9 months later! Would hire them again in a heartbeat. Unique and fun and the dance floor wa...
