When picking a wedding venue, my fiancé and I instantly knew the Gwyn was going to be our place. Rose was such a pleasure to work with and had a hand on every piece of the process! The simple elegance of the Gwyn is something you cannot find just anywhere - our day / weekend there was so magical. From the garden, to the patio, and by the pond - it truly is like no other place & the grounds are so beautifully upkept! Thank you to Rose, her husband, & Matthew’s Catering for making our wedding the most special day it could’ve been. Rose is not only the coordinator or inn owner, she is a genuine friend and puts so much into each wedding she puts on!

We had our wedding at the Gwyn Careg Inn in June of 2024. After our July 2022 engagement, I – being the data nerd that I am – created a spreadsheet of every venue in the NY/CT/NJ/PA area. We wanted something wild and natural, with a bit of an enchanted quality and the essence of an English cottage garden. We investigated hundreds of venues in search of one that would have the right feel for our wedding, and only one made the cut. The Gwyn Careg Inn was perfect and lent such a special aesthetic quality to our wedding. Moreso, we continue to be so grateful for Rose, who handled the intricacies of our wedding with professionalism and kindness and who truly prioritized my wife and I on our wedding day. Rose even held off planting in the center of her garden so that we could hold our ceremony in the round, surrounded by the beautiful grey stone walls that drew us to her venue. Rose’s touch is everywhere, from her pristine gardens to her beautifully decorated rooms, and it is clear being on her property that the love poured into it reflects the person she is. We are so grateful to her for everything she did to make our wedding day perfect, and can’t wait to be back at the Inn soon!

Gwyn Careg Inn is a historic wedding venue located in Pomfret Center, CT. Recognized as a premier wedding destination in Connecticut, the estate is nestled upon 14 glorious acres of rolling lawns and exquisite gardens. Built in 1760 by the Osgood family, the estate has survived a long journey with various proprietors. Each owner made its mark on the property, from the Spanish gardens and glimmering fountain to the Italian-style pond. Today, the estate is owned by the Bove family. Gwynn Careg Inn is open to couples between May and October, perfect for a romantic ceremony among the blooming perennials and century-old rhododendrons. The inn's timeless interiors can accommodate gatherings of 100 people, while the lawns are ideal for a tented reception of 250. Walking through its enchanting grounds, one feels a sensation of stepping back in time. The courteous staff at Gwyn Careg Inn welcome you as esteemed guests. The venue hosts only one wedding each weekend, giving you exclusive access to the grounds and all the privacy you desire. They aim to provide everything you need, such as tables and chairs, tableware, linens, lighting, tents, and a dance floor. Their event planner will support you throughout the process and help bring your vision to life. You are free to customize your wedding feast as you please, with sophisticated sit-down meals, hors d'oeuvres, buffets, and an open bar all available. After a beautiful evening, you and your wedding party can retire to your elegant rooms at the inn. Their six charming guest rooms and suites are perfectly elegant and offer all the comforts of home.

My wife and I were married at the Gwyn Careg Inn this past fall. From coordination to day-of, the Boves displayed the utmost patience and professionalism. The venue itself is beaut...

iful, and my wife and I were so taken with the Spanish Garden that we decided to hold our ceremony there outdoors. But as the date drew closer, rain threatened—and in response, Rosemary worked with us to make a plan for the ceremony and reception that we were all comfortable with. She handled all coordination (and re-coordination) with grace and made the process virtually stress-free. Ultimately, our day went perfectly (weather and all!) and we will always treasure our memories. Our guests only had good things to say, and our wedding party thoroughly enjoyed staying at the property and being able to utilize the grounds. Thank you!

ake a second, follow their IG or FB to see their stunning pictures. This venue has a close relationship with Juniper Catering and Bloom Bake Shop, which lessens the workload of trying to find vendors. You can book the weekend for friend and family and have a truly unique, intimate affair. Rose, the owner of the venue is very easy to work with, responds in a timely manner, and wants to make your day special! I would 10/10 recommend The Gwyn to my best friend or to a total stranger.
