H Photography

We were married in October, 2022. Doru was fantastic to work with and the photos are beautiful! We were married in a somewhat dark (but gorgeous) chapel, and Doru got the lighting just right! All images were sent to us promptly, and I really could not be happier! I would recommend him / H Photography to anyone.

I got married this past September, Doru and his wife were simply the best. They are incredibly nice and easy to work with. The pictures they capture are stunning and beautiful. I could have not asked for better pictures is my day. I love them. Will be using h photography agian in spring for family pictures.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Doru and his team. We got SO lucky. Our original photographer got Covid a few days before the wedding and our wedding planner got in touch with H Photography, and it was a huge blessing. I doubt they'd ever be available with such short notice again but how lucky were we? They were so accommodating and patient the entire day, taking so many wonderful pictures. My parents are divorced and I have a big extended family so there were many different combinations of pictures as you can imagine. They took my list and checked off every combination as they took the photos. I was also a little worried because I was more of a plus-size bride and most photographers show examples of skinny brides so I didn't know how I would look in photos. Doru took the most flattering pictures! He knew I liked pictures from a high angle as they are more flattering and he even stood up on chairs without my asking to get great shots. They could not have been nicer throughout the whole day, bonding with the whole family. I couldn't believe how quickly they sent us the pictures after the wedding. I am obsessed with looking at them. They are so gorgeous and it was hard to narrow them down for our album. Doru was so sweet and even dropped off the album in person! You cannot go wrong with this crew.

Doru's photos of our wedding are absolutely gorgeous. He had wonderful creative ideas that captured the most important day of our lives in a unique, breathtaking way. Along with his artistic touch, he has great professionalism and communication. He managed our rowdy wedding crowd effectively when needed for family photos and was otherwise non-intrusive. Great value. Would recommend to anyone in Chicagoland!

There are not enough amazing things to say about Doru and his work. We met him last year for our engagement pictures and to say we were obsessed with the pictures is an understatement. Because of this, we couldn’t wait to see our wedding photos! Through the planning process Doru checked in with us, listened to our vision, helped with the timeline, and made us feel calm and excited for the day. He gave us the best advice: enjoy every moment together and be in love because the camera captures any stress you show. We channeled his advice on the day of- he helped me stay calm with everchanging weather conditions and stressful obstacles. H Photography went above and beyond for us on our wedding day! Doru and Claudia were timely, creative, extremely communicative, and all around great people to spend the day with. They captured so many incredible pictures and the turnaround was so quick (The teaser pictures were delivered within a couple of days after the wedding, and we had all the pictures within 2 weeks!) We also did our engagement pictures with Claudia, and they turned out amazing as well. Doru is absolutely amazing! He did everything perfectly; he captured all of the perfect moments (and even the goofy ones too)! We did not get a videographer and we do not even feel like we missed out on that because Doru captured everything we need to relive that day. Since we were not able to invite everybody we wanted to our wedding because of the pandemic restrictions, we knew we wanted to find a great photographer so we could show photos to our friends and family who couldn't be there. We are so glad we chose H Photography for our wedding. Even though we only gave them short notice, Doru and Claudia were able to accommodate our plans. They were very professional, and we are very happy with the photos they delivered! They know which locations in Chicago would be best for photo sessions, and they helped suggest locations for us to visit based on our schedule for the day. None of us had ever hired a professional photographer before, and I certainly have no idea how to pose without looking awkward. However, Doru and Claudia helped pose us and our family, and the pictures turned out great!

Working with Doru and The H Photography was the absoloute best decision we could have made. My fiancé had one reuqest while wedding planning and that was that we hire Doru as our photographer. He had work with him before in weddings where he was a best man so he knew that not only would the quality of the pictures be amazing, but that Doru could wrangle a group together. He was able to give clear instruction on poses that other photographers we've worked with had over looked (for example, guys put your hands in your pockets not just dangling by your sides!). We did our engagement photos and I understood exactly what he meant. Like most couples, we aren't often the center of attention for an entire hour of staged and candid photos- but Doru made us feel comfortable and helped us embrace the awkwardness which lead to photos that really show the love and happiness we felt. When COVID-19 happened and everything was closing and being postponed- we agreed: we're keeping Doru and The H Photography contract. We were lucky enough to be able to have our wedding, and Doru was there. Every single person who came to celebrate with us, has shared how much THEY enjoyed Doru. He has a way of being professional and capturing all the sweet, candid moments that sometimes get lost throughout the day, while still embracing all the unexpected crazy moments along the way. He is kind, on time, directive, and great at what he does. I promise, if you put your trust in Doru and his company- you will not be disappointed.

Doru and his wife Claudia are fantastic! They were a preferred vendor of the reception hall and did not know what to expect when I went to the first meeting. It only took me a few minutes to know that he was who I wanted to photograph my wedding. He and his wife and worked in different areas of photography (news/reporting, weddings, etc) and what I loved about his pictures is that they tell a story about the day. Although he does them, his main focus is not the artsy photos of the rings and dress- it's more about capturing the emotions of everyone throughout the day. Doru and Claudia were very easy to work with and I had so many guests compliment him for his hard work all throughout the day- He never stopped moving to try and get the perfect shot! You won't be disappointed if you choose them!

We hired H Photography for our January wedding. We cannot say enough good things about Doru. We couldn't be happier with going with him for our wedding photographer. Starting with our engagement session, he had a vision for photos and capture the love between my husband and I. He agreed to incorporate our dog in the photos, the dog wasn't really cooperative, but Doru still captured amazing photos with him and we couldn't be happier that he did that. Our wedding was in January, out of all the beautiful weekend before the big day the weather was amazing, unfortunately on the day of our wedding it was brutal winter Saturday night. We had a vision to do photos with string light at night outside. Even though the temperature outside was brutal and it was super windy, Doru still made my vision of string lights happen. We went outside and he took beautiful pictures. When he posted few sneak peek photos on his website and Facebook, my husband and I, we got so many complements on those photos. Everyone was saying how creative he was and they absolutely loved the photos outside as well as on the inside. Doru captures every detailed of our wedding, starting with the dress and the rings, to the cake and flowers. All of our guests were amazed how he captures pictures of them and that he was willing to take photos of them throughout the night as well as taking pictures of us at the same time. Doru listened to all of our ideas and made them happen, he was really responsive to all the emails and it was such a pleasant experience to work with him. We will be definitely booking other photo shoots with Doru and H Photography for different occasions. After working with them I couldn't picture my photos being taken by someone else. Absolutely LOVED working with them and I am looking to working with Doru in the future.

Doru was wonderful working with us for our small and intimate wedding. The weather did not cooperate for the outside pictures we had been hoping for, but he was still able to capture the beauty of our venue and the magic of the day despite the rain and cold. I appreciate his thoughtfulness in trying to make sure we got all of the pictures we wanted, taking special care to make sure everyone looked their best in each pose, and helping us all have fun during the process. I cannot say enough wonderful things on how happy I am with the picture we will treasure for a lifetime.

Of all the vendors we hired H. Photography was at the top. Doru is an amazing photographer. His vision and ideas of how to frame the photos and where to go left us with so many amazing shots. He was also very fun to work with. During both our engagement session and wedding photos he got us so excited with energy for each other. We had so much fun taking photos, he really brought out the love in us. My face hurt from smiling at both occasions. We couldn't be happier with the service we received.

I can not say enough about Doru. When my husband and I first got married, we did a quick back yard ceremony and never thought to hire a photographer. Many years later, we decided to renew our vows, and the photographer was first on our priority list. The moment we met Doru, we knew we found the photographer for us. H Photography is best of the best. We knew we wanted a professional photographer for our wedding, it was just a matter of who. We went with H Photography and could not be happier. We chose the package with two photographers, and it made everything so easy and got the most AMAZING shots. We got married in a Catholic church and they can be strict about photographers. I can say that I do not even remember seeing the photographers visible during mass, and the pictures they got are unbelievable. H Photography is husband and wife owned and they are the perfect mix - they could not have been nicer to our bridal party. Our ring bearer had special needs and they were so kind to him, and our young flower girl. They truly captured special moments that show who we really are. It was the perfect balance of traditional, necessary pictures and creative, interesting shots. Multiple people at our reception came up to us saying how great there were and that they could not wait to see the pictures. So glad we made the choice to go with them and cannot wait to use them repeatedly for other special life events.

Doru, from H Photography, was our photographer for our wedding. He took amazing photos! He helped tell the story of our wedding day by coming early and taking photos as we were getting ready, my mom helping me get dressed, and even staged our rings and family heirlooms for beautiful shots beforehand. He embraced our outdoor ceremony by getting great angles and shots during the ceremony, and then by finding interesting places for us to get some more photos of just the two of us. We are more than pleased with the results! He made me feel like a princess throughout the day, and the photos reflect that! My best friend recommended him and his business to me, and allow me to recommend him to all of you!

I don't even know where to begin. Claudia and her team did a phenomenal job with our wedding. From the first meeting with her and her husband, they listened to what we had visioned for our wedding and gave some honest and positive encouragement that we had made the right choice. When it became close to our wedding day, rain was in the forecast and up until the morning of, Claudia was messaging me ready to change our timeline, if I chose, to avoid the rain. We ended up keeping the same timeline and both photographers (Claudia included) showed up early. We took a TON of pictures. Even when we were about to call it and be done with photos before the ceremony, she would see another good photo op and she shot away. Those are now some of my favorite photos in the album. Claudia and her team captured everything so perfectly and was such a pleasure to work with. She made our wedding day so much easier and stress free. We received our teaser of photos shortly after the wedding and all of the photos in a couple of weeks! I was shocked! The photos look amazing and the only problem is, we have way too many to choose from. The lighting and the color in all the photos are just what we pictured. We would highly recommend H Photography to anyone looking for a photographer.

Doru & Claudia are hands down the most talented photographers we’ve ever met. Starting from our engagement session, Doru captured outstanding images and was so patient with our hyper dog who we so wanted to include. I am the very happy mother of the bride. Doru from H Photography was our photographer at my daughters wedding this past Saturday 5/4/19. Doru was an absolute pleasure to work with, from our first consultation appt, all the way through the wedding. It was from the very beginning of our daughter and son in laws special moments that Doru and Claudia captured amazing photographs. He was prompt on his arrival and even though my bridal party was not ready he immediately went into action taking pictures of my dress and attire. He did an amazing job photographing moments from beginning to end. I could not ask for better photos from my special day for the cost. What set Doru apart from the others was that he suggested meeting at the venue for our initial meeting. That was an amazing idea!!! We used H Photography for our wedding in July 2018 and they were wonderful to work with. We had around 400 guests and our bridal group consisted of around 30 people, plus we had a lot of relatives come from Europe for our wedding, so imagine that amount of people and the amount patience that is needed to take photos and gather everyone in order to take photos. They were patience, they listened to what we wanted, and gave it their best! We had very limited time due to running late for photos, but they took many photos and we had plenty to choose from! The only thing we regret is not having more time to take photos because they are exceptional at what they do. Doru took our engagement photos and they were beautiful! We recommend them for your once in a lifetime event because you will not regret it!!

As an Event Planner you meet loads of photographers, DJ and such...Doru is hands down my favorite Photographer to work with. He is so personal and goes the extra mile for his clients. You can tell he loves what he does, through his art and his smile! I always get excited when I hear a couple has selected him to capture there special day. Five Stars!

We just got married 9-7-18 at Boulder Ridge Country Club in LITH. Claudia was our photographer and she did not miss a beat. She truly caught every moment of our wedding seamlessly while being "behind the scenes". We got married on June 30th one of the hottest days of the summer (almost 100 degrees) and Vlad was AMAZING!! From the moment I met with Doru I knew that we had to book H Photography for our wedding. Choosing a photographer was the most stressful part of wedding planning, but I am so glad I found and chose H Photography! My husband and I loved working with Vlad. He was prompt, professional, and had a great attitude throughout the entire day. He took a mix of traditional and nontraditional photos, which is exactly what we wanted. He captured every moment that was important to us, and he even managed to make us smile in the park when it was 90 degrees out! Doru was such an amazing photographer!!! My husband and I were shopping around for wedding photographers for a while before chancing upon his studio. From the start, Doru was very patient and very receptive to our needs. We did an engagement photoshoot with him, and the results were amazing - he was very prescriptive in his instructions on how to pose and what to do for various shoots (which we needed) and also managed to incorporate many of our ideas into the album. On the wedding day, he managed to captured many candid and posed pictures of all the guests and most importantly the family members that we wanted to capture most pictures of. We did have terrible weather that day (thanks Chicago), but that did not stop us from capturing many wonderful indoor photos.
