and taste of the Old Pueblo, and HdS hit it out of the park. We looked at 12 venues and ultimately HdS had everything we wanted plus it was actually located in Tucson proper so people could explore. Joelle was extremely accommodating and worked to make sure we had absolutely everything we wanted on our wedding day--including special iced matcha (my husband Adam's favorite), passed lemon drop shots to kick off the after party, and NY Momofuku Milk Bar truffles. All the spaces across the property are gorgeous and allow tons of flexibility. Our cocktail reception started in the outer courtyard; moved to the inner courtyard for dinner, toasts, and dancing; and ended in the Hacienda room for an amazing after party complete with s'mores and Sonoran dogs. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay, and we can't wait to come back for anniversaries for years to come!

Joelle, the wedding coordinator for the venue is simply wonderful, her attention to detail and creative ideas are sure to make a unique and unforgettable dream wedding. We had our wedding in March 2018 when all the flowers were full bloom which made the ceremony and reception garden even more beautiful.

was the perfect place for our big day. After walking the grounds and meeting the staff we cancelled our other appointments to view other venues, we knew there was no point because Hacienda was the one! Joelle the Sales & Catering Manager was amazing through this whole process. She is very attentive to detail, professional, and organized. Although we had a wedding planner Joelle was always available and several steps ahead of us with advice and recommendations. She didn't hesitate to give a helping hand to my bridesmaids with their dresses and making sure everyone looked perfect on our big day. She even helped search for my ring when I misplaced it the morning of, no job was too big or small for Joelle Not only did Joelle exceed our expectations, but so did the rest of the staff. Everyone that we came in contact with had a smile and was so accommodating. From the valet staff, to checking in, to the catering staff, they were all amazing! I was in close contact with Summer and Frances leading up to the wedding. They were both always available and so helpful with answering any questions we had. Everyone raved about how good the food was and how beautiful everything came out including the cake.The staff worked so hard to make sure our vision was executed perfectly, we can't thank them enough. So many of our friends and family members have mentioned how much they enjoyed their stay and that they hope to stay at the resort in the future. The resort grounds are even more beautiful in person, you will love the rustic Southwestern feel of the venue. While the older rooms are a little outdated the updated rooms are beautiful! Rather if you're considering holding your wedding at the resort or a smaller event, you can't go wrong with Hacienda Del Sol.

for our wedding, they went above and beyond. They offered to steam all of the robes that I got for my Bridesmaids and they placed everyone's welcome bags in their rooms. All of our guests loved staying at the hotel, we couldn't have asked for a better wedding weekend!

Tucson, we knew Hacienda was our winner because of the beautiful property and cozy feel. We got married in the outer courtyard, had dinner in the inner courtyard and moved dancing inside (so we could keep the party going until midnight). Trying to plan a out-of-state wedding was very difficult but Joelle the sales manager and day of coordinator made everything easy. She truly knows what she is doing!!!!! I have VERY high expectations when it comes to promptness via email and although slow at times she always got back to me and provided me with all the information I needed. After seeing the care she puts into your wedding day, you realize why she may take a few days to respond....she is busy making other people's days special and being very attentive to them. She is not able to sit at a computer all day when she has an event going on. Overall, the customer service from all the staff was beyond my expectations. Everyone made you feel very welcome and went above and beyond to make sure you had everything you needed. I would recommend this place over and over again. We had around 120 out of state guests stay at the resort (I think all but 2 rooms were rented to our wedding party) and everyone raved about the place. The new rooms were spectacular!!! The older rooms were old and outdated but each room had so much character. All my family enjoyed the quirkiness of each room. Lastly, the best part about Hacienda is that you can get by with minimal decor because the property and outdoor grounds are so pretty.

come together and added many special touches. The staff was remarkable and the setting/food unsurpassed. We received many positive comments on the food as well as the signature drinks we had chosen. The ceremony was later in the day in the courtyard and the reception in Casa Feliz. We had hoped to have the reception in the courtyard as well, but it was still a bit too warm outside. Joelle transformed Casa Feliz into a very romantic yet rustic venue with her use of many candles and other decorations. We had a little glitch with the room reservations but Joelle fixed it quickly and to everyone’s satisfaction. My daughter has described her wedding day as “magical” and “the happiest day of her life.” They intend to spend future anniversaries at Hacienda del Sol.

y hard to make everything wonderful! When we had our tasting, the chef personally presented the food and a description of the ingredients. Cathleen and the chef worked together to find a way to give everything a southwestern flair for us, and everything was delicious! A number of our guests told us that the food at our wedding was the best they had ever had! We had dinner in the inner courtyard, which was lovely! The flowers were blooming, the grass was green, and every table was set beautifully! We had after-dinner dancing in Casa Feliz, which was such a cozy space for us and our guests! The bar staff was friendly and professional and made prickly pear margaritas that everyone loved! All of the staff at Hacienda were so welcoming - from the bellmen to guest services to the restaurant waiters to the owners - everyone congratulated us and made us feel at home! Cathleen also arranged for us to have one of the brand new amazing suites for our stay! It was incredible and we enjoyed every second in our desert oasis! We will always cherish the memories at Hacienda and look forward to visiting often!

to be in the moment and just enjoy our special day without worry- and we did. I am so happy we got married at the Hacienda Del Sol. At the time, I just moved to Tucson and really wanted my friends and family who were traveling to AZ for the first time to really see the beauty the desert has to offer. One of the spectacular qualities about the Hacienda is the beautiful historic property, lush gardens and the views. We had our ceremony in the outer courtyard by the fountain, overlooking the Catalinas. The sit down dinner was served in the Casa Feliz and the reception was in the inner courtyard, so we used all the spaces. It created a nice moving, flowing evening. I can tell you hands down the food at Hacienda is amazing. Many guests told us it was the best meal they ever had at a wedding! We choose the Ribeye, Eggplant Rollatini and Roast chicken as entree selections for our guests. Plus they do a very good job accommodating kids and offered a kid menu. Everything was perfect with the setup, flower arrangements, decorations. We did use a day of wedding planner which was extremely helpful. Lastly, the staff working the wedding were all extremely friendly and helpful. There were a few things that are making me not give the Hacienda 5 stars. One point is their hotel reservation system was not clear or organized (for us or our block of guests, somehow they ran out of rooms and we could not accomodate many of our gusts on property. I was in the bridal suite getting ready (the day of the wedding) and somebody from the reservation office came into my room with another luggage set saying somebody else had reserved the room!?! I was like, "But I am the bride!!!" Anyway, they fixed it- but it did cause a bit of stress when I was trying to get ready for the wedding. The Hacienda just did a major construction project there there are now more accommodations for events and hotel rooms. The construction was going on when we got married last year - but that did not take away from the beauty of the property. Also, there was some mishap with the cake, We ordered a two tiered wedding cake from the Hacienda's pastry chef. We ordered one tier with berry filling the other tier with lemon filling. Somehow they were both berry. Not a big deal, but not what we ordered. The cake was delicious nonetheless. When we said something the next day, it was pretty clear we were not getting an apology or a discount. Like I said, both of us are not sticklers for perfection, so we just let it go. All in all, I think the Hacienda is an amazing place to get married- and your wedding photos will be absolutely stunning. We celebrated our one year anniversary at the Hacienda a few days ago and had a very special, romantic dinner in their beautiful dining room. The Hacienda will always be special to us.

Bonnie St. Dryden, who is newly in charge of event planning at Hacienda, came in part way through my planning process. She answered every question in a timely manner and kept me informed of where I should be at that point in the wedding with questions she had as well. I loved every moment of the night at Hacienda and would recommend it to any bride!

ing cheesy. It was under remodel construction at the time, but we could vision what it was going to be. Because of the construction, Cathleen (our coordinator) had a back up plan if it didn't get completed in time. We are so happy we went with Hacienda Del Sol! The construction was finished before our wedding and the place is absolutely beautiful! Cathleen was fabulous at walking us through everything and answering all my questions leading up to the big day. The day of couldn't have been more perfect. Everyone at Hacienda was so helpful, friendly and genuinely happy to be working there. Tom (the owner) even drove me in a golf cart from the hotel room to the ceremony so I didn't have to walk in my heals. I even saw Tom at the reception filling water glasses and making sure everything was going well. The food was great and everyone kept raving about the appetizers. The new Catalina suite was perfect for getting ready, as it has 2 bathrooms so there were multiple places for my friends and I to get ready. Not to mention the new rooms are stunning. If you are looking for a touch of the southwest, this is the place!!

cake, gorgeous photography, amazing food/beverage service for our guests, complete with an officiant and DJ. With special attention to detail, it was more than we imagined and the day was simply perfect and a stress-free occasion, as it should be to join our lives forever. The venue could not have been more perfect, blessed with a splendid Arizona sunset easily seen from the reception area.

coordinator, Rachel, is the epitome of professional. Saying she is competent doesn't even begin to do her justice; she is above and beyond highly competent, from keeping track of all the many moving parts of a wedding to miraculously appearing with bitters and soda to soothe my stomach when I got pre-wedding jitters and ginger ale was too sweet for me to handle. She is easy to reach by both phone and email, and responds quickly; when she is out of the office, even for a couple days, she puts notices on her email and voicemail so you're aware. Beyond Rachel, the hotel staff in general is great. Our wedding guests stayed here, and had nothing but good things to say about the restaurant, the rooms, and the staff. Hacienda del Sol requires that food and beverage for the reception be through them, which is no problem at all given their excellent food. Multiple guests commented on how delicious the food was, and we were given lots of options for wine as well. I commend the servers as well for being extra attentive to my husband and me. As often happens at wedding receptions, we spent so much time talking to our guests that we didn't really get to eat. A server not only boxed and saved our meals, but had them delivered to our room so we could eat later that night. We definitely appreciated that when it was after midnight and we were ravenous! The beauty of the venue speaks for itself, with lovely grounds, historic architecture, and stunning views. In addition, Rachel and the Hacienda del Sol staff go out of their way to make you feel special, and I couldn't have asked for a better wedding experience than what they helped provide.

he casita grande which is basically a two bedroom house with two bathrooms and a full kitchen as well as a dining room and living room. It really worked out well being able to stock the fridge and have a place for people to meet up and hang out for the weekend. The girls also got ready there and it had plenty of room for everyone! The hotel does include a small bridal ready room as well at no cost but we used it as a place to stage flowers, etc out of the heat until the reception started. They also gave us a free night in a suite for the night of the wedding and put a bottle of champagne in our room! As far as the actual reception went... Rachel was a wonderful coordinator. I didn't have a day of coordinator but she was very hands on the day of assisting with everything from set up to even serving plates herself during dinner! If you have your wedding on site the package does include a separate day of coordinator as well I believe. We had the cocktail hour and dinner in the courtyards but they included the ballroom as a backup in case of weather at no charge. Their courtyard is absolutely stunning and I didn't have to decorate anything... Seriously. Just simple centerpieces are all that is necessary. I loved the white lights strung over the courtyard! The whole property is really gorgeous and made for the most amazing wedding pictures. I still look back on my photo album with the most fond memories. If I had to narrow down the reasons for why I loved this venue it would be 1) the food was amazing 2) the views and grounds are stunning and 3) I love the local Tucson feel and how historical it is. The only negatives I saw are: the rooms are a little pricey and you have to rent out all the courtyard rooms (which are small) in order to have the reception go past 10pm. The rooms also have a two night minimum stay on the weekends. Another is the alcohol prices are not discounted at all... You pay the same price per beverage or bottle as you do in the restaurant which added up very quickly. Alcohol was our biggest expense; I think they should give case discounts or something. Lastly, I was recently up there and they are doing a lot of construction to add new guest rooms. I love the small historic feel and wish they weren't doing that! Overall, I'd recommend Hacienda del Sol as a wedding/reception venue to anyone without hesitation though!

were several instances of missed details, promises made and not followed through with, and in the end overcharging of the bill. It is disappointing because it leaves a final bad pill of the whole experience when the wedding and reception themselves were amazing. My recommendation if you choose this location for your wedding, hire your own staff (I had one wedding day coordinator, but now know I needed someone to watch over the bar too)so you can ensure everything is on the up and up and taken care of properly.

oordinator and the Director of Wine. Let me just say, before you sign anything with Hacienda del Sol, make sure EVERYTHING discussed is WRITTEN in the contract. I held my wedding at Hacienda del Sol because growing up in Tucson I spent many celebrations with my family at the restaurant/grill. I have to believe the rumors that the hotel/grill have changed ownership… the service is NOT what it used to be – if you want to sit in the restaurant on Sunday to enjoy the $50 brunch, make sure to make a reservation ahead of time or you will be shoved into the back corner of the bar because all of the empty tables in the restaurant are “reserved” (by the way- the “reserved” tables remained empty throughout our entire 1 hour brunch). I gave them the 4 starts because my wedding went on without a hitch! The food was excellent, the kegs of beer -I specially ordered-were flowing, and the wedding was absolutely wonderful!
