My review is based on when they had a tent but the crew at the garden was easy to work with and they even had a website you could use for wedding planning! The indoor space is a nice plus if it’s chilly. The patio is perfect for happy hour.
My husband and I held our wedding at the HHG and we couldn’t be happier with the venue and the team. Scott was incredibly helpful as we planned the wedding from another state, and it was clear that the HHG team wanted to help make the wedding fun and stress-free. Everyone seemed in awe of how stunning the gardens was. We would highly recommend this beautiful garden to anyone hosting an event in Blacksburg, especially a wedding!
My husband and I knew we wanted to get married at our alma mater, Virginia Tech, and were beyond excited when we discovered that Hahn Horticulture Garden was a wedding venue. We both knew the gardens would be beautiful, but both of our jaws dropped when our memory failed to savor the level of beauty the gardens held. I had SEVERAL guests, a mix of VT and non-VT grads, express a similar reaction when they saw where we were getting married. Even more guests came up to me after a few hours at the venue to let me know how perfect the venue was, beyond the appearance: it was spacious, with several different lawns to host each part of the wedding; had an indoor area to cool off, use the bathroom, and grab food; and it had several trails that weren't being used directly for the wedding that people could go off on and explore. Beyond the layout and appearance that blew us away, Hahn Horticulture Garden was responsive, easy to work with, and staffed during our events to help with really anything. My point of contact, Scott Douglas, in particular, was incredibly kind and helpful and worked seamlessly with my wedding planner. Whether you are a Virginia Tech grad or not, I strongly recommend using Hahn Horticulture Garden as your venue if you enjoy the garden vibe.
An absolutely stunning place to have a wedding! All the staff at the garden bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed. Very friendly, easy to get a hold of, professional, and pleasant people. The garden was naturally just beautiful.
The Gardens at Virginia Tech were the perfect place for our wedding! The grounds are gorgeous. The staff was helpful. The only problem is that they do not make it a private event, and there were a ton of high school kids there taking pictures for prom.
As long as the weather holds out for you, the Hahn Horticulture garden is the PERFECT playground for your wedding... from ceremony to reception! The setting couldn't be more natural... no need for excessive decorations = more money in your pocket! If you're one of those people who likes to leave things to chance (or even if you're not, i.e. ME), go for this location... you won't regret it!
We loved this place, it's really set back into the gardens, the gardens are well kept, and the value was great. Alumini get a discount so we got the whole day (we just used the outdoor space) for cheap. It's a great setting for pictures daytime or nightime. The staff were prompt and responsive when working with them.
ability to do wedding ceremony and reception at same location;possible weather risk and limited ability to handle large number of guests (<200)
