Katye is amazing! She did my hair and makeup for my recent wedding and I would definitely recommend her for your upcoming event. She scheduled a trial with plenty of time beforehan...
d and made me feel like my opinion mattered, and made the small tweaks to the updo and makeup so I still felt like me. On my wedding day I felt confident and beautiful and have Katye to thank for that! She also did my mom’s makeup and did the perfect amount for someone who rarely wears any makeup.
Katye was a lifesaver! I had an issue two weeks before my wedding with my hairstylist and ultimately had to find a new one. Katye was quick to respond and easy to communicate with....
She worked with me to schedule a hair trial a week before my wedding and ended up being perfect. Thank you for saving my wedding Katye! I would 100% recommend!

In December 2023, I solicited for Katye's hair & makeup services for my wedding in March 2024. I had found her site through the knot, and emailed her with an inqui...
ry.
In both January and February, I had my bride hair and makeup trial, and 2 others for the mother of the bride, and mother of the groom. We were all very satisfied with the quality of her work, and proceeded with the payment, signed contract, and aligned on the confirmed wedding date. She was pleasant during the trials, and all was good! None of us had any issues or reason to doubt her ability to do a good job, or doubted her overall character.
Then two weeks before the wedding, after full wedding payment was provided, I started to receive very bizarre, confusing, and concerning text messages from Katye.
On some days she had forgotten who I was, questioned why I was contacting her, what services I had requested, yet on other days she would share photos of my completed hair trial, makeup scheduling, and was able to put my name to my face. My contact information has stayed the same as well as my interest for her to do my hair & makeup for my wedding per our contract - (plus services for 10 other girls in the wedding party) - so there were no changes on my end. I was not a bride looking to change this major detail so abruptly weeks before my wedding, as so many other important details are needed at that same time frame.
She started questioning me with strange messages, such as why I had completed her contract, sending me pictures of people who I did not know and asking who it was, acting very paranoid towards me, and began to scare me that she was proving to be very unreliable and confused though our communication. Her odd communication via text and behavior was ultimately not something I wanted to deal with on my wedding day.
This strange communication via text ultimately escalated 3 nights before my wedding day, where I asked her to kindly refund me for a service she cannot provide. She claimed that she could not refund me the full payment I provided for which a service that DID NOT occur - which is not specially stated in her contract.
I tried to get my money back for the past 2 months, and nothing has come of it.
I highly recommend NOT USING this vendor. Her communication is very confusing and unreliable, who ultimately is unable to act as a professional business owner.
If anyone else had a recent poor experience with her in late 2023 / early 2024, please contact me so we can compare timelines.
I had a frustrating time trying to book a trial with Katye for my wedding nearly a month after signing the contract and paying an almost $400 deposit. Ended up requesting to cancel...
my contract due to lack of responsiveness and inability to commit to a trial. No flexibility on refund even though no services were performed. I may be out a large sum of money but I’m glad I’ve chosen a different vendor that prioritizes communication.
Katye did some magic with my hair and makeup!! We had a multi-day Indian-American fusion wedding. Katye did two styles for me - a glam wave with extensions for the Sangeet and a bo...
ho braid with extensions for the Ceremony and Reception. I was completely obsessed with both styles. Katye listened to what I wanted and made something even more beautiful. I also loved my makeup - gorgeous but very natural.
Easy and fun to work with! She communicates and is very reasonable. My girls and I were very happy and satisfied with her service. Highly recommend!

e me comfortable. I was even able to get some of the new ideas I had for my hair on wedding day in. Katye handled it like the pro she is. I would recommend all brides, bridesmaids, and anyone needing HMUA for special events to Katye!
Katye has done my hair for a few weddings now (I was a bridesmaid in one, and the other was my wedding) and she was great! She’s punctual and really quick also, which is nice when ...
you’re stressed about being ready by a certain time. She also took the time to create a timeline for us, which was extremely helpful! Hoping to have her do my makeup next :)

everal different looks until we found exactly what I liked. On the day of the wedding we had a very early start and she was there and ready to go with enough energy to power through hair and makeup for six people. Everyone looked beautiful in person and in the photos! And by the end of the night my hair and makeup were still in tact! Katye was reccommended to us by our venue and I feel lucky that she was available for our wedding!
Katye helped do my makeup and hair for my wedding. She's responsive, professional, easy to work with and could accomodate me fairly late. She's thorough with the makeup trial and o...

I would give Katye 10 stars if I could! She is absolutely wonderful. I was scrambling to find hair and make up last minute for my wedding and she was flexible, open, and so kind! S...
he made it work, was adaptable when we changed locations, and made us feel comfortable and heard! My mom and I were thrilled with our hair and make up. She is professional, extremely talented, and the best artist we could have ever asked for! I would recommend her to anyone—amazing day and amazing work!
Katye is very good at what she does, which means a lot coming from someone as picky as me. I've had my makeup done professionally many times but have never been fully satisfied. I ...
was THIS close to not hiring a makeup artist at all and just doing it myself when I found Katye on Instagram. I flew from NYC to San Jose (we got married in Morgan Hill, CA) for my makeup and hair trial, and I was completely blown away. I actually looked like myself but BETTER! My wedding day was no exception, Katye did a beautiful job and I liked how I looked even more than the day of my trial. She really listened to what I wanted and she totally delivered. I also hired her for my mom and my sister's hair and makeup as well as my bridesmaids' hair. Everyone looked stunning and every single person was very happy! Katye definitely knows what she's doing and I also loved how she came equipped with luxury beauty brands and high-quality products. My makeup looked fresh all night and so did my hair!
Katye and team recently did hair and makeup for my bridal party, my mom and me. I had reached out to quite a few different HMUA, and Katye was one of the most reasonably priced and...
was always quick to respond and answer questions.
Katye was so easy to work with and really listened to what I wanted. And while she was great at giving advice about the look I was going for, she didn't push anything on me. I also found it really easy to make tweaks to my hair or makeup with Katye. She was flexible and never seemed bothered by changing things. I've sometimes felt a bit intimidated by other HMUA and haven't spoken up when I've wanted something changed, but I felt so comfortable working with Katye. She and her team were also able to achieve a variety of looks with my group of girls. My mom really wanted a very light, natural look, while some of my bridesmaid wanted more glam, and both looks were achieved beautifully!
Really talented hair and make up artist. My friends and I were all so impressed. She isn't someone who just does the same look on everyone, she really takes into account taste, pre...
ferences, and requests. I loved my long wavy super extensions and big eye lashes look, and one of my bridesmaids had the sickest updo that really showed off the bright colors she had in her hair at the time. Everyone just looked beautiful. I was really impressed by how my friends who prefer to look more natural were chic yet subtle, and I who prefers to look made UP looked snatched. We loved Katye!
Katye was great from the get go! I was referred to Katye through a friend, and am so glad I was. I did a quick intro call with Katye so we could discuss services -- then scheduled ...
a trial a few months later. Katye was very receptive to my requests and did a fantastic job at the trial, so I went into my wedding day feeling super confident. I felt the makeup on my wedding day was even better than the trial! Katye does amazing work...and does it quickly! She brought Sylvia to assist her on my wedding day. They did hair and makeup for 6 bridesmaids, MOB, MOG, and me (the bride!). Both Katye and Sylvia made sure each person was comfortable and happy with their hair and makeup. I strongly recommend!
Katye is hands down the best makeup and hair artist out there! She went above and beyond all of my expectations and truly made me feel the most beautiful I ever have! All of my br...
idesmaids loved their looks and we cannot wait to see how the photos turned out! She is very professional and made me feel calm and relaxed while she created my vision. Thank you so much Katye you and your team are truly amazing!! I’m referring you to all the future brides I come across!!
From our very first email, all the way through the last spritz of hair spray, Katye is a dream to work with. She is hands down the epitome of professional and a master at her craft...
. Not only did she nail the look for me, all of my bridesmaids, and my moms on my special day, but she did so with a calm poise that was exactly what a bride needs on her wedding day.
Thank you Katye for making me and my girls feel beautiful inside and out on my wedding day. We all looked mighty fine and our looks lasted in the sweltering heat to boot. Much love to you <3
Originally I had booked a trial with someone else, and at that trial the other makeup and hair artist flat out refused to even try the braided style I was looking for, and told me ...
that the only way I could use my clip in extensions was if I wanted to wear my hair down. The makeup she did was beautiful, but so thick that when I smiled I looked 15 years older-- not what anyone hopes for their wedding day. After that experience I knew I had to find someone else, but I was very nervous to spend even more money on a trial that might not work out.
When I contacted Katye, not only did she respond quickly, she took the time to look at my inspiration photos and photos of my hair before even booking the trial and told me that we could indeed do something like what I was looking for.
At the start of the trial I was still pretty nervous, but Katye quickly put me at ease and did two gorgeous hair and makeup styles on me. In the end I decided to combine elements from each of the two styles, which Katye took in stride and executed beautifully.
On the day of the wedding, Katye kept the whole schedule on track easily - she did hair for my two matrons of honor, hair and makeup for my mom, and even hair and a bit of makeup for my flower girl, who absolutely adored being made to feel like a princess.
Hair and makeup is often the part of the wedding day that seems to throw the schedule of the entire wedding off track, so Katye's ability to easily keep the schedule played a huge role in reducing stress on our wedding day. The whole process was calm and didn't feel rushed. We even finished a bit early! My hair and makeup stayed beautifully the entire night. I couldn't be happier that I picked Katye to do hair and makeup for my big day!

nd hair artist/ stylist for the family. When I contacted Katye and others, Katye was one of the first few who returned my call, understood my requirements, looked up her availability and reserved our family for an early morning wedding. She responded to all of the followup questions my family and I had prior to the wedding and we never felt rushed with any of the last minute questions/ requests that came up. I didn't have this experience with other notable artists I contacted in the Bay area. Thank you so much to Katye for the looks she gave me and my family. We all looked extremely beautiful, the makeup and hair held up well all day (from 3AM to 11PM with no touchup and two outfit changes) and we got lots of praises. I can't thank Katye enough for working and cooperating with us through a very busy day, keeping our nerves calm and allowing us to have a wonderful wedding day. I highly recommend Katye and would sign her up for all of the future important functions in my family.
I cannot recommend Katye enough, if I could hire her every day I would in a heartbeat. I will absolutely call her for any big events and will recommend to all of my friends and fam...

Katye did both hair and makeup for myself, my mom, and several members of my bridal party and we could not have been happier. My hair and makeup stayed fully intact through a windy ceremony and a night of dancing. Katye was so patient with us all, achieving the exact looks we were hoping for. Thank you so much for everything!!
Katye was fantastic! She was friendly and professional, promptly on time and incredibly efficient. She completed full hair and makeup on myself and three bridesmaids within 4 hours...
and time to spare.
Aside from her professionalism, she listened to what my bridesmaids wanted. They ranged from full face to minimal and she made them all the most beautiful versions of themselves-just like she did for me.
I am currently obsessing over my sneak peek photos-thank you for your part in making my dream day come true!

ack in the day, and when I was thinking of who I wanted to do my wedding hair, she was the first person to come to mind. When we worked together, I got to see all her work first hand, as well as her professionalism and her true love for the beauty industry. She gave great advice on what she thought would work for my vision, as well as what would compliment me. In the end, Katye will make sure that you are 120% happy with your hair / makeup. She truly is one of the best, and I look forward to when I can work with Katye is the future.
Katye Rose is very professional and nice person. She made me look incredibly beautiful! She did for me hair and make up I never had before. Wish to work with Katye again!
Thank you...

d. She answered all of my questions and was so easy to work with! Katye and her assistant, Sylvia, did an amazing job at delivering hair and makeup looks just like the photos my bridal party showed them. I wanted a really natural makeup look with loose hair curls and Katye delivered just that. My husband absolutely loved the way I looked on our wedding day! My friend recommended Katye to me and I would recommend her over and over again to everyone! Thank you again Katye for making me feel so beautiful on our BIG day!

you. Katy is one of thoes artist who doesn't do a fraction of amazingness she does the whole thing and then some. She has such a passion and love for hair and makeup that she will take what you say and do her best to give it to you 10 fold. She is worth everything and more because of how willing she is to go above and beyond what your asking for. I promise she is worth the time spent looking for a good hair and makeup artist. She did an amazing job with all of my girls and I can't thank her enough!
Best of all my husband was BLOWN away with how I looked and he is very very picky, lol.
Would recommend Katye to everyone and wish I could repeat my day so I could feel as beautiful as she made me look and feel that day :).
So everyone please call her for your needs, and I will just have to remember the amazing look through pics ;)
I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Hair and Makeup by Katye Rose. Katye was so helpful and communicative from my very first email asking about scheduling and ...
pricing. She was so flexible as a million last minute changes and requests came through. She made things so simple and maintained helpful schedules and photos so we knew what to expect come the big day. We did back-to-back days of full hair/makeup for our traditional and then western style weddings and Katye knocked it out of the park for both! Both days had distinct looks and Katye did such a great job understanding the events and what looks would be best. My mother-in-law, normally more conservative in the formal events, LOVED Katye and even asked for her contact information for future events :)
I would highly recommend you stop your search here and book Katye ASAP. She will put you at ease and let you focus on what matters most on your special day!
Katye is fantastic! She did such a great job on my hair and makeup for my Wedding Day! My bridesmaids looked beautiful and we all received so many compliments from our guests on ...

ding up to it. I remember emailing her with every little question and she always responded within just a few minutes. She gave me some amazing looks to pick from during my hair and makeup trial and it was extremely hard to pick just one because they were all beautiful. I wanted a very glam look and she did not disappoint! She completely understood what I wanted and knew how to execute. She did my hair and makeup, makeup for my 7 bridesmaids, and brought a colleague who did hair on my bridesmaids. I was SO happy with how it all turned out! She arrived right on time and was very professional the whole morning. My hair and make up lasted ALL day and night, even after getting down on the dance floor. 5 STARS for Katye!! I highly recommend her if you want gorgeous wedding hair and makeup that will last all night!

looked even better on my actual wedding day. My bridal party looked great too even though I didn’t give ANY direction about how they should look. Easily 5 stars!

ng me to deal with one less vendor. Katye was also so quick to respond to all my emails and even provided a minute by minute schedule for the morning- calming all my bridal nerves. My makeup lasted through tears and sweat and looked just as beautiful at the end of the night as it did at the beginning. Katye is extremely talented and such a sweetheart. I'd recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat.
Katye was absolutely AMAZING!! I decided to change my style last minute and she was super flexible and it looked fantastic. She not only did an amazing job on my hair but my makeup...
was just as beautiful. She completed full looks for myself (bride), my mother, and 3 bridesmaids...everyone looked and felt like a million bucks. Katye is the best and I would highly recommend her to anyone!!
Cannot recommend Katye highly enough! She did hair and makeup for me and two bridesmaids as well as makeup for my mom and the groom's mom. She was prompt, prepared, really relaxed ...
and super easy to work with. She works so fast but it is not rushed at all -- we actually finished early. My mom who is super picky loved her makeup and didn't have her change anything, which is a miracle. My makeup and hair held up ALL night even through sweating on the dance floor -- I was so impressed. Everyone was complimenting us all night. She's also based in Morgan Hill which is great for people like me in the South Bay, and her pricing is super reasonable compared to some SF-based artists. Cannot recommend enough! Love her.

d, and they were each a bit different. I was worried about my fine hair not looking full enough, but she volumized it beautifully! My hair style turned out a bit different on my wedding day than my trial, but it still looked great. Katye was very accommodating and flexible, and worked through the whole morning of getting ready with ease. She was easy to work with and so sweet! She made me and my bridesmaids feel amazing on my big day!

Not only was the trial super fun, but she really works with you to create your day of hair and makeup vision. She is incredibly fast! All of my bridesmaids and I were beyond happy with how our hair and makeup turned out. I couldn’t be happier to have worked with such a talented and professional hair and makeup artist!

I have to admit that I am on the pickier side when it comes to hair and makeup and was beyond thrilled with Katye after the hair trial, even better my hair looked even more glamorous and just had such a wow factor on the big day!
Katye is a true professional and her pricing is absolutely in line with her level of experience and talent and to top it off she is super sweet and such a pleasure to work with!

raightforward with her prices, whereas a number of the other people I looked at were constantly tacking on extras (extra $ for a trial, extra $ for airbrush, extra $ for eyelashes) - you're the bride...OF COURSE you want all of those things! I appreciated being able to easily know exactly how much her services cost.
Katye did an amazing job on my wedding day. She arrived early and worked ahead of schedule. Everyone looked beautiful, but we all still looked like ourselves. We decided the day of to change the hairstyle we had settled on during the trial. Katye was able to go with the flow and I was so happy with how my hair and makeup looked.
I cannot say enough great things about Katye. She is wonderful!
Katye Rose did an amazing job for my wedding. She and her associate showed up at 6am and immediately started working on my Bridesmaids, two at a time. By 12pm (as planned) she had ...
done the hair and makeup for myself, 2 mothers, and 5 Bridesmaids - and we all looked drop. dead. gorgeous. I wouldn't recommend anyone else for hair and makeup for your big day. Katye was professional, efficient, on time, and she was able to execute my idea perfectly! Thanks again Katye!

ooked stunning without looking unnatural or overdone. Each hairstyle was was very intricate and gorgeous! All we did was show pictures of what we wanted and they were able to recreate it while adapting it to our face. We couldn't have been more thrilled! They were also willing to come from very far, from Morgan Hill to Guerneville, to help us all look our best! The hair and make-up can make such a difference in the overall look of the wedding, and I can already tell, from the few pictures we have gotten back so far, that they made us all look spectacular!! Thank you again!!

ridesmaids! Katye was very attentive to detail and asked me questions about what I liked best for my face and was very receptive to feedback. She absolutely nailed the look I wanted for my wedding day and made me feel like the most beautiful version of myself. 11 bridesmaids are a lot of work but Katye handled it like a pro. She was extremely professional and friendly and listened to what all the girls wanted. This was very important to me because my bridesmaids range from wearing no makeup at all to super glam lots of glitter and lashes. I need a makeup artist with a wide skill set who could master multiple different looks. Katye was able to create a customized look for each girl that made them feel beautiful and comfortable. I highly recommend working wit Katye, I know I will definitely be booking her in the future for other events!
I would 110% without question recommend Katye Rose to any and all brides! I knew about Katye through one of my bridesmaids who used to work with her, and also as I was doing my res...
earch, Katye was coming up in all of my searches as one of the industry's very best. I could not be more happy with my decision in having Katye as part of my big day. Everything from our initial contact, to booking the trial, and of course the big day was perfect in every way. Katye is very professional, easy to talk to, a great listener, very understanding, and EXTREMELY talented. I am so happy Katye was such a huge part in my wedding.

Katye was wonderful! I had an idea of what I wanted to look like on my wedding day and she made it a reality. I looked (and felt) fabulous. She also runs on a very strict schedule,...
which I appreciate. You will be ready on time.
My bridesmaid were also very happy with their hair and makeup.
Also, her work was near indestructible - we were married on the beach in a MASSIVE wind storm and my side bun stayed intact (even with my veil blowing me across the beach).
I would definitely recommend her!

I hired Katye on 12.22.16 to do my hair and make-up, as well as two services for friends, for my 3.11.17 wedding. I paid $200 as a deposit to hold the wedding date and to cover th...
e cost of the hair and make-up trial. On 2.5.17, I had my hair and make-up trial. After the trial, I came to the conclusion that traditional bridal hair and make-up was not for me. When I emailed Katye to thank her and tell her that I would not be moving forward with her services, she refused to accept the cancellation. She offered to still perform the services, and stated that if I declined to have her perform the services, she would still charge me in full ($566). After we talked on the phone in an effort to come to a resolution, I told her I would call her back. Instead of picking-up my later call, Katye charged my credit card for the full amount of services not performed, including a travel and credit card fee, and she asked me not to contact her again. My credit card was charged without my authorization, and a full week before payment would have been due. Needless to say, I did not want her there on the big day, and thankfully she did not show. I had friends and family help me, which was a really great and fun experience. Having to deal with a vendor like this so close to the wedding was very stressful. All of the rest of our vendors were super helpful, so I was pretty taken back by the whole situation. I caution any brides-to-be when evaluating this option. I also caution against giving this vendor your credit card info, as it was retained and used in a way I felt to be unfair. Lesson learned.
