We got married at the Halekulani Hotel in Waikiki Beach this July, and from start to finish, our experience with the Halekulani team was exceptional. Our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were held at the Hau Terrace, a stunning venue with breathtaking views of the ocean and Diamond Head in the background. The food and cocktails were outstanding, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about the malasada station we had at the end of the evening. Honestly, they were some of the best malasadas I’ve ever had—giving Leonard’s a real run for their money! The waitstaff at our wedding were gracious and attentive, ensuring everything went smoothly throughout the night. The Hau Terrace was the perfect size for our group of about 50 guests, creating an intimate and elegant atmosphere. We also used Halekulani’s in-house florist, and I can’t recommend them enough. The florals were absolutely gorgeous, and their pricing was among the most competitive we found. A special shoutout to Lilly, our Halekulani-assigned coordinator, who made planning our wedding from off-island so seamless. She was organized, communicative, and truly a joy to work with. Thank you to the entire Halekulani team for making our special day not only beautiful and memorable but also stress-free to plan. We are so grateful and couldn’t have imagined a better experience!

It was alright. We do not regret having the wedding here, but it was quite expensive for what I felt we received. First off, some things you should know that we mostly knew before obtaining this vendor which may come off as a surprise: Almost every aspect of the wedding had to be gotten by yourself. The venue doesn't offer you much. This is in stark contrast to Kahala if you are considering a similar looking venue at least since last year. The venue also doesn't offer any booklet so details of what you can or can't include for i.e. decorations must be asked. Perhaps this is the industry, but we were quite surprised by the lack of help yourself service. We were a little dismayed at the lack of customization available to us in the space, and we didn't expect much given the location. Lastly, there is no dedicated "bridal get ready suite." This may be in contrast to some other venues we have toured. The option for this is either to use your free night (if you spent enough) for the night before the wedding date, or to buy another night. There is no cake tasting for free despite the fact that they give a cake. You must pay $70 per cake. The reasoning wasn't obvious to us, so it felt like it was told to us a little flippantly. Later it was explained why. We felt the people you work directly with in the venue aren't the most meticulous people. They forget details and felt kind of rude. The food was also just alright tasting. We tried more than the free number of dishes they give you for the tasting and this was our impression. We do consider ourselves foodies, so take that as you will. The good thing is that the facility itself is quite nice. It is very clean and transitions were nice on the back end. And it was beautiful. While there isn't much to say on this point, it is a very important aspect that you cannot overlook about this venue. The question you should ask yourself if you want a wedding here is if you would like the wedding in the pictures shown to you on the Halekulani website. This venue offers you comfort, smooth transitions, and a cookie cutter yet beautiful wedding.

Such a beautiful romantic and glamorous wedding venue. Halekulani Hotel was nothing less than extraordinary. The food was amazing and the service was top notch. The workers were very personable and in tuned to every detail that needed to be done for the wedding, and our hotel accommodations. The staff were very i attention to detail and prompt to respond to emails. Wouldn’t have had it any other way. Dreams do come true.

Joel and Tina, of the catering department at the Halekulani Hotel, are the best! From our intial inquiry, to our site visit, all the way up to our wedding day, they answered all our questions, addressed all our concerns and were extremely flexible at times. We had both our ceremony and reception at their beautiful Hau Terrace lanai. All staff were very friendly, accommodating, and attentive. We truly felt pampered and cared for. We can't say enough about Steven, our banquet captain on the day of. He and his staff went above and beyond for our friends and family! We are blessed to have been cared for so much by this team at the Halekulani! We look forward to spending our anniversaries with them for years to come!

I get the chills when I think of how perfect Halekulani experience was. We had our ceremony and reception on the Hau Terrace. The hotel, service, atmosphere, and food was five star and above. I was so proud to our guests on the service and food that was provided. The atmosphere was beautiful. We could not have imagined it happening any better. Thank you so much for making our day special!!. I highly recommend Halekulani for anyone looking for their special day to be a dream come true. An extra special thank you to John, you were amazing at the special attention you gave to all of us. John went above and beyond.

have absolutely no regrets on choosing the Halekulani for my wedding. Starting with the even planning staff, Dayna and Sayaka were amazing and helpful. They answered my emails promptly and made sure everything was ready for my special day. The catering manager on the day of my wedding was awesome. She was helpful, organized and professional. I owe her many thanks for making sure everything ran smoothly. Now lets talk about food. THE FOOD WAS SO FREAKING AMAZING!!! My guests could not stop talking about the food after the wedding. We did the buffet and my guests really appreciated it. The highlights were the watermelon salad, poke, prime rib, bread pudding, and sea bass. Seriously, the food at my wedding will be talked about for years. Everyone said it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. The venue was also nice enough to pack to go boxes for me and my hubby and have it delivered to our suite. The wedding cake was also provided by the hotel and that was the other thing my guests could not stop raving about. IT WAS SOOOO GOOD. Everything from the staff, service, absolute amazing oceanfront view, food, reception venue, hotel WAS AMAZING!!! You should definitely check this place out. Also, it's conveniently located for all your guests staying in Waikiki.

You will not regret having your wedding here. Every detail is carried out and the service was impeccable! Joel responded to every email very quickly and thoroughly. Nothing that I told him was forgotten on our wedding day. John was our day of guy and he blew us away with the attention he gave us. Truly 5 stars. He made sure we were taken care of and stress free. He got us drinks while we took formal pictures and held them on a platter for in between pics, held my bouquet while I took sips, made sure everything went smoothly, gave me slippers when my feet hurt, a towel for when we went to the beach to take pictures, and made sure food was saved for us . Forever grateful to John.

There is a reason people have their weddings at the halekulani!!! Everyone knows the food... of course... but what sets them apart is the SERVICE!! From the valet to the banquet manager.... it's all about service!!! Totally recommend them!! Worth every penny!!!

Had our wedding here recently, word of warning, if you are assigned Tatsuya, or Tats, talk to Joel the catering director to get someone else. He is just awful and will make an already stressful event more so. Though the food was good and the place is nice (but pricey), the dealings with Tats are the primary (painful) memories we have of our wedding day.

We worked with Joel to plan our wedding all the way from Iowa with a 5 hour time difference. He was always helpful and listened to everything we wanted to make it the perfect night! The food was delicious! We were able to please all of our guests with a children's menu and a special plate for those with food allergies! All of the employees at the hotel (valet, housekeeping, pastry chef, and reception) were friendly and so helpful! The Hau Terrace was the perfect location for our 40 person reception! Indoor/outdoor with A/C and a gorgeous ocean and diamond head view! The wrap around lanai made it feel like we were right there on the ocean! Even with the volume limit for the DJ, it was perfect for dancing!!! We couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect reception! Pleasure to work with and highly recommended!

We chose the Halekulani because of their reputation for outstanding service and amazing food. They did not disappoint! Our courtyard ceremony was followed by our Ballroom reception. Everything went smoothly from our initial date selection to the day of our wedding. Mr. Joel Nishimoto quickly handled all of our questions. Our guest continue to compliment us on the delicious food.

If you are ever looking for a place to host your wedding or event, just have it at the Halekulani. Catering: Tom Nguyen was so professional and courteous. He took really good care of my fiance and I, and we didn't have to stress over anything. The Bell Captain, John, provided excellent services on the day of the wedding, we couldn't have asked for more. The food WAS so good. The roasted pig @ the carving station was awesome and all the guests thought the taste and the presentation were just unbelievable. Room: I seriously was speechless when I walked into the room. Perfect. Everything was perfect with an awesome view of the pool and the Waikiki beach. Spa Halekulani: the BEST services you will ever get. Terri took her time to put on the best gel nail polish on me. Yes, Halekulani will cost more but the quality of their services and deliveries will leave you feeling 100% satisfied happy.

We can only imagine how we'd want our wedding day to be like. Booking with Halekulani was the very best decision we've made in our planning. Not only did they give us VIP treatment from check-in to check-out, our entire stay and experience was amazing, beautiful and a dream come true (and more!) Every single employee of Halekulani was outstanding, and everything was nothing like any other hotel. We're truly grateful for all that they've done to make our wedding day incredibly memorable and perfect.

I am so glad we chose Halekulani for our wedding! Loren is extremely professional and detail oriented. Any question I had was answered promptly. Everything on my wedding day went off without a hitch. Everyone in the Halekulani staff is extremely accommodating, and everyone goes out of their way to give you a 5 star experience. The rooms were beautiful, the food was excellent, and everyone is extremely organized. This is THE PLACE to have a wedding!

Choosing the Halekulani to have our reception was the easiest and best decision that we made for our wedding. Tom, our catering manager was prompt and responsive to every question we had and made choosing our venue a no-brainer. There were a few venues that we contacted that didn't back to us for almost a week! We initially thought that the Halekulani was out of our budget but once you factor in all the great perks that they offer; free parking, complimentary cake, ceremony fee waived, etc. it was actually the best value overall. The service is top notch, the hotel is elegant and the food is awesome, there's not much more you can ask for in a wedding venue. We highly recommend the Halekulani to all the brides and grooms out there.

Most of our friends got married at this venue so at first we didn't want to use the same one. But after visiting other hotels we decided it was always the Halekulani. We were glad we did. The catering manager their answered all our questions and helped us along with the entire planning! She was quick to respond to all my emails. The day was everything we hoped for! The service, food, everything was perfect!

Everything was top notch about the Halekulani, from my first tour of the grounds through the day we checked out. The catering manager, Joel, stayed in touch with me throughout the year-long planning process, was extremely helpful suggesting table layouts and menus, and helping to manage our rehearsal. On the day of the wedding, it started to mist during the ceremony. Within minutes, all of our guests were holding blue Halekulani umbrellas. Our wedding party was even given umbrellas to hold over us - what a beautiful shot! I will never forget the beautiful view from our complimentary wedding suite, and the champagne and crystal glasses that were waiting for us after the reception was over. I would absolutely recommend this venue to any bride looking to get married in Waikiki.

Provided the classy location we wanted without any of the distracting foot traffic that could ruin other hotel sites along Waikiki. Well worth it. The food was excellent, my grandmother actually had worked here back in her time and even then, the food was always of the highest standards. (She still comes here to have lunch with her friends on special occasions). John the catering manager was great and helped us throughout the night. I had brought in a lot of outside decorating items since it was pretty much a clean slate and he even had his group pack up everything for us so we could get some rest in our suite after such a long day. Our ceremony and reception took place at the Hau Terrance at the Halekulani Hotel and Resort. Words cannot describe how beautiful this venue site is! Beautiful without the decoration and breathtaking with the decors and accessories! The food and service was excellent. Highly recommended for destination weddings.

The folks at Halekulani were absolutely wonderful. We chose the Hau Terrace for our reception and did our ceremony on the Lanai. Everything was done exactly how we asked and all our guests complemented us on how fantastic the food was. We didn't have much of a chance to eat because we were having so much fun mingling with our guests, but the catering staff kindly packed us 4 large bento containers of food which was waiting in our room for us when we got back--along with TONS of settings in case we had leftover guests. And enough food to feed 4 to 6 people. We love the Halekulani and would do this every weekend if we could. They may seem pricey on the surface, but we found them to be a spectacular value overall. And worth every penny.

I had a budget for my October 2010 wedding (like every bride does), and I was coming up short with places I liked for my budget. Even though the Halekulani is the MOST EXPENSIVE hotel in Waikiki, I wanted to walk around anyway. I looked at the Hau Terrace and fell in love. I knew for my 75+ guests that were most out of towners, this would be the perfect place. Then I thought of the budget, and I was so sad. I asked for the price list and thought they printed something wrong. No room rental fee you say? How is that possible? Spend 6k in food and receive a cake, no rental fee, a suite for the bride and groom after the wedding, and champagne waiting in your room?!?!?!?! I was shocked, I thought it was a misprint. It was all true :-) and I used my own vendors. My budget was between 20-30k and it was the wedding of my dreams. Thank you to Joel at the Halekulani for helping me have a flawless night!

This 5 star hotel really treats you like a princess. They are very accommodating and so courteous. Surprisingly enough, their wedding packages were less than many of the 4 star hotels in town.

First of all Halekulani hotel is one of the best luxury hotel in Hawaii. It is located in the midst of Waikiki and in front of the ocean. From the reception room called 'Hau Terrace' we could see Hawaii's beautiful ocean as well as Diamond Head. The room could open slide glass with wooden framed door so that people could walk around the room and lanai where they could see the ocean and Diamond Head. The atmosphere was GREAT and their food is well-reputed. This is the best place to experience 'Hawaii'.;The catering manager at that time (2008 Spring) was not so competent and a bit rough for Halekulani service. I would not talk to this particular manager but other staff were nice. And at the reception room they do not have a good sound system so if you put focus on musician's sound quality I cannot recommend.
