We booked Hall Park Hotel a full year in advance — even before it officially opened — expecting a seamless, high-end, four-star experience. While the venue itself offers an except...ional view, the layout and operational efficiency simply do not justify the premium price point. Unfortunately, our overall experience fell far short of expectations and left us deeply frustrated.
After booking, we were transitioned to work with the Catering Sales Manager, who appeared unfamiliar with the original agreements made during the contracting process. Throughout the planning period, we encountered repeated issues and often felt that the focus shifted toward upselling additional services rather than honoring the terms we had already agreed upon or properly addressing our concerns. Many of these concerns had to be escalated multiple times, yet problems persisted both leading up to and on the day of our wedding.
Poor Guest Flow & Architectural Design
We raised concerns several times about the guest flow and architectural layout, which felt backward and confusing. A logical and elegant arrival experience would have utilized the office elevators as the main entry point. Instead, guests were directed through what essentially functioned as an emergency exit door down a long back hallway before reaching the sign-in and photo area (the Canvas). This created a confusing and underwhelming first impression.
Poor Linen Quality & Presentation
Despite assurances of premium banquet linens, what was provided was thin, rough, and visibly wrinkled. Rectangular tablecloths were too small, forcing staff to overlap two pieces to cover each table. The round linens appeared pieced together with visible seams, creating an uneven and unprofessional look. It took multiple requests just to have two handheld steamers brought out — hardly reflective of a luxury experience.
Unprofessional Ballroom Entrance
The Gallery Ballroom entrance resembled an emergency exit, propped open with a doorstop and completely unaesthetic for a wedding. Although we raised this issue during planning, the proposed solution — partially covering the door with a divider — felt like an afterthought rather than a thoughtfully executed design solution.
Disorganized Service
* The welcome beverage station was not set up until my brother-in-law noticed it was missing and alerted staff. Even then, only lemonade was initially provided; water was not available until it was requested again.
* Several meals were missing entirely. Despite clear communication regarding guest counts and meal selections, some guests did not receive their chosen dishes — even after servers retook orders. This occurred at our main table as well and resulted in guest complaints.
* The bartenders were unfamiliar with our signature cocktails. Drinks were inconsistent in quality — some overly diluted, others missing key ingredients such as syrups or mixers. We received multiple complaints from guests regarding the bar service
We have since reached out to the Sales Director and expressed our concerns directly to the General Manager. Regrettably, the responses we received felt dismissive and avoidant, which only compounded our disappointment.
In summary, while the venue offers stunning views and visual appeal, the poor guest flow, lack of coordination, and inefficient staffing do not reflect the premium pricing or the four-star standard that was promised. For such an important once-in-a-lifetime event, this experience was incredibly disheartening.
