We had our wedding ceremony in the barn at Hallockville in early November 2023. Thankfully, the weather was on our side and we were able to open the barn doors right before the cer...
emony began. Plus, with electric heaters around the room, everyone was comfortable—even me in my sleeveless gown!
Roberta was wonderful to work with and so helpful during rehearsal/set-up and on the actual day. Everything came together beautifully and to be honest, when I walked into that barn it took my breath away and we barely did any decor at all. Hallockville will always be a special place to us. Thank you to the entire staff!
My husband and I had the absolute perfect wedding day at Hallockville. We booked the venue over a year in advance, and from the beginning Beth was wonderful help in getting us all ...
the information we needed and answering our questions. Because the venue is so bare bones-- literally just the barn and the restrooms-- it requires a lot of work and planning. This worked perfectly for my husband and I, as we wanted a venue that we could customize and turn into our own for the weekend. We did several walk-throughs to help inform our planning, which I felt was really necessary in order to pull off a successful event. I would highly recommend this beautiful barn to anyone that wants to do a DIY wedding, is not afraid of putting in the work, and wants a venue that truly reflects the history of the North Fork!
When searching for a wedding venue here on Long Island, my Fiance and I knew we wanted something unique that would represent our laid-back personalities and rustic style. Upon our ...
first walk through at Hallockville Museum Farm I just knew that was the place were I wanted our wedding reception to be. Fastforward a year (almost to the date!) to our absolutely amazing wedding reception at Hallockville. The barn and the museum farm grounds were the perfect setting and backdrop for our Barn Wedding. I will say that having a barn wedding requires a TON of work and planning, and you must bring every single thing in (and then back out) of the barn - this includes: catering, music, tent/table/chairs, decor, etc. It was a lot of work but it was so worth it! The outcome far exceeded my wedding dreams. Beth, the Assistant Director of Hallockville was incredibly helpful and super responsive - it made the planning and coordinating that much easier. If you're looking for something a bit different and rustic then I most definitely recommend Hallockville Museum Farm for your wedding.
One last thing, because this wedding (as most barn weddings are) was DIY, and we had to bring everything in, I had a ton of questions and spent a decent amount of time trying to search for answers online. If you are looking to plan a wedding at Hallockville and have specific questions regarding planning a wedding there, please feel free to email me at eastendwhimsy@gmail.com. I'm happy to help offer guidance and provide information that I learned while going through the process at this venue.
I had my wedding here during the summer and it was ruined. Beth and Herb are NOT business people and have no idea how to normally talk to people. Herb harassed the guests the whole...
day and I was humiliated. It's beautiful but not worth the stress.
I absolutely loved working with Beth & Herb at Hallockville, they were helpful & the space is unique & you can really make it your own. We tried to make the wedding represent us & ...
created a lot of special details to capture our relationship & play up the space. Rustic Chic at its finest, chandeliers in the barn & all!
If you're looking for a rustic wedding on Long Island, this is the spot! It's a reasonably priced site fee, which includes a luxury bathroom trailer. But understand that that's all...
you get and the rest is on you (catering, tables/chairs, etc.) but Hallockville recommended a great bunch of vendors that really helped us execute the wedding of our dreams. What's also really helpful is that you are given access to the grounds the day before for set up which eases the pressure day of. It's a great way to have the details and vision you want. Herb and Beth were so easy and nice to work with. The farm will always be a special place in our little history.
Our overall experience at Hallockville was great. It's the perfect spot for a rustic wedding with great details and backgrounds for photos. The owners were upfront with us from the...
beginning that what they provide is the very basics, so it's best for DIYers. The area where the farm is located is great, too, with lots of farmers markets and vineyards. Unfortunately, we did hit a few bumps with Hallockville. There were small details that we had originally been told "yes" on that became issues later on. For example, we were originally told that we could have our rehearsal dinner there, no problem. Less than a couple months before the wedding, the owners started having second thoughts about the rehearsal because they felt that it was turning into an event of it's own (we were expecting over 25 guest- family members and the bridal party), so they left us a voicemail saying that they wanted us to move the rehearsal dinner. My husband called them back and was able to come to an agreement with them, so thankfully it worked out but it was still frustrating. My advice would be to make sure you have the details like this added to your contract with them so they can't change anything after you've signed. Hallockville was pretty new to the wedding scene at the time, so hopefully by now they have a better system set up.
The day of the wedding went very smoothly and Hallockville provided everything as we had worked out with them. There was only one complaint. Part of our agreement with them was that one representative from Hallockville would be on the grounds during the wedding just to be there and check in occasionally. Great. Totally fair and appreciated. However, this representative ended up hanging out at the wedding the whole time. He chatted with guests, enjoyed our food, tried to have a long conversation with my husband (while we're trying to enjoy every moment we have with each other, our family, and friends), and even GAVE A RAMBLING TOAST. I won't get into the details, but I will advise that you really make your expectations clear when you are making plans with the owners. When they tell you they require a representative to be there the day of the event, make sure you discuss exactly what that person's role will be.
I'm still giving Hallockville 4 stars because, besides these couple of roadbumps, it was still a beautiful venue that our guests loved and so did we!
Great place for a farm wedding (we are NF farmers).
Need to book location way in advance for your day (they typically only hold one event per weekend)
