Communication was a little difficult at first because of how busy they are, but they always got back to us if we left a message. Everything with this vendor and the cake they made was perfect for our wedding day.

When we initially contacted Hanisch, we noted we wanted to do assorted small desserts. We were given a list of available items, which sounded great. When we arrived for tasting, we were given a basic cake-only tasting that was entirely irrelevant to what we had discussed we wanted, and were told they were out of most everything on the list we were given. We basically went with Hanisch on the good word of our caterer, and while we were very happy in the end, it would have been helpful if the tasting experience was relevant to what we intended to try/order.

ltiple attempts to get a phone number for the day of our wedding(should anything go wrong). Additionally, we paid for a 2 tier cake, but they only gave us 1 tier. I have not yet called to complain, but I plan to. They are very nice people and I am sure we will come to an agreement about how to address this issue. Overall I would recommend for a laid back couple who isn't as worried about things going wrong or plans changing on the day of.

The cake was delicious (I'm told!) and the cake pops were even more popular. Brides considering this option be warned: order twice as many cake pops as you think you'll need because people WILL take more than one. We had cake, cake pops, cookies and chocolates and we were dangerously close to running out. It was great tho and we've gotten nothing but compliments since. This hometown bakery is reasonably priced and will travel (within reason) for a nominal fee.
