We have been to weddings with other Hank land bands, but Encore was by far the best. We were a bit hesitant to pick Encore because they were not on Hank lanes Instagram. om the beginning, working with every part of the Hank Lane team was seem less. Everyone from the front office to the band manager were exceptional. They made sure every detail was perfect -- from making sure the band knew everything about our musical taste and preferences, to ensuring the schedule for the entire event would go off without a hitch, to even providing guidance for our venue on electrical power requirements for the event. By the time the wedding came around, everything was just seem less. When it came to the performance, oh my goodness. There is just not enough we could say about how wonderful it was. The vocalists were breathtakingly good. The music was as if we'd hand-picked the sets ourselves. The energy was truly unbelievable, even more so given that they played for hours straight without taking any breaks during the dancing reception. Their crowd work and performance got everyone into it. And, somehow, they learned and played *every single song* we had asked for, including a couple of obscure songs we would not have expected and even a song from our culture (which they learned for our ceremony). Perhaps the most telling thing of all is that, at the end of the wedding, the entire dance floor was still packed, as it had been for the entirety of the event. There was still so much energy thanks to their performance, that we actually extended them on the spot to keep the dance party going, much to the cheers from the entire dance floor. As we read reviews before hiring Hank Lane, we remember thinking that some sounded too good to be true, but with the benefit of being able to reminisce about our own wedding with Hank Lane, let us assure you that they and the Nick Campbell Band are actually just that exceptional. They are so natural when it comes to getting some of the shyest people up on the dance floor, but also keeping everyone engaged and highly entertained. I could even say it felt like we were at a concert at our own wedding: entertaining and highly performative. To start, HLE is SO easy to work with (HUGE shout out to Ian & Stephanie - they’re a dream team!) & were highly receptive to the music we wanted to hear at our wedding - my now husband, who has always been a DJ person, swears that Spotlight has changed him to a band person. He was begging me to have a little bit of EDM at our wedding - for Spotlight? That was no problem at all! We asked and they delivered! For our wedding, it was important to me that we had a live band (I mean, they’re WAY better, but that’s just me!). We vetted a lot of groups for our wedding and everyone I knew kept pointing us to go with Hank Lane. I will admit, selecting a band virtually during the pandemic was a huge risk, but working with Ian and Stephanie, they put our minds at ease and assured us we were in good hands. As soon as we heard our band during their sound check at our reception, my husband and I were mouths agape… the video we watched of Spotlight during our consult doesn’t do justice. They sounded PERFECT and brought an unmatched energy to our dance floor. I can’t even describe how engaging they were as well - our emcees kept checking with us, and made sure every single person in our venue was dancing. Like I said our main goal was no butts in seats & they 100% delivered that as not a single person in our venue was sitting.
