Welcome!
Here's a little about how I work:
VISUAL STYLE
SOFT - I shoot in a soft & dreamy style that captures the romance and mood of the day. I love a shallow depth of field for those soft backgrounds that makes the subject really pop.
CLEAN - I aim for correct, natural looking colors in our images - not overly saturated or overly faded, not too warm or too cool. I’m going for classic & timeless - avoiding heavy editing that will make everything look dated in just a few years.
NATURAL - While I know how to use external lighting when needed, I’m a huge fan of natural light. You just can’t beat it! You’ll find me gravitating toward taking photos outside or using window light inside whenever possible. When I do use external lighting, I’m typically aiming to recreate that soft, even lighting that doesn’t look overly “flash- y” or blown out.
APPROACH
CANDIDS - I love pretty details and romantic portraits, but by far, I feel that the honest, natural moments of the wedding are the ones you’ll treasure the most. While I will sometimes make suggestions as the day goes along (for example, I might guide you into the best light for a few getting ready shots), I’ll then stand back and let the moment unfold. I don’t tend to stage moments or overdirect. I want you to remember your wedding as a day of celebration, not a photoshoot.
NATURAL POSING - Even though I have a mostly photojournalistic approach, there probably will be some parts of the day you will want some posing for (your couple’s portraits, for example.) I always aim to avoid “the cheese” and work to create natural moments instead of stiff poses. We want you to look and feel like you!

Hannah was my first and only choice for wedding photographer after she worked with my sister's wedding a few years ago, and I was incredibly grateful she was available. Hannah is t...
he absolute best wedding photographer I have ever seen in action, and produces the most gorgeous photos! She never drew attention to herself during the ceremony or reception with either her movements or shutter sounds (non-existent!), and the photos that she produces and edits are absolutely stunning. She had another photographer with her to assist, as well, and Latoya was just as amazing! Absolutely recommend her to the fullest--I don't believe there's anyone who rivals her and her team.
Hannah and her husband, Ryan, make the most fabulous photography/videography team! From day one, she is quick to respond to emails and accommodate anything you need - even download...
ing Skype to "meet us" #OutOfTownCouple. On the day of the wedding, they became part of our wedding party. Their fun, sweet personality makes you WANT to spend the day with them, and they quickly send previews to share with your friends and family. Oh and by the way, their work is absolutely stunning! If you love gorgeous details and even more gorgeous photos, you need to work with Hannah and Ryan! xoxo
I could not have asked for a better photographer for my wedding day. Hannah and her husband Ryan are truly fantastic. Hannah was always quick to respond to my emails from the very ...
beginning and throughout the entire time leading up to (and after) the wedding. She was so patient with me and my crazy schedule, too. Also, in the beginning, she and Ryan met up with me at the venue months before the wedding to talk in person and go over details. Hannah even braved inclement weather to ensure we did bridal portraits on the only day I could make it into town the last few months before the wedding. On the wedding day, Hannah and Ryan were subtle while they worked and got the job done (and did it extremely well!). And just when I thought things couldn't get any better, they brought out a drone for some seriously awesome aerial shots! Our wedding photos turned out absolutely amazing. Seriously, stunning. Hannah is so talented! We were so impressed and would highly recommend trusting Hannah and Ryan with your special day.
Hannah and Ryan were so wonderful to work with for our wedding day! Some photographers tend to be a bit cheesy and over-the-top, but that is not the case for Hannah and Ryan. The...
y were so professional, kind, and down to earth. Their calm attitude was so refreshing on an already emotional day. My husband and I are so pleased with the quality of their work, and our pictures are breathtaking. There are a lot of wedding photographers in the area, but you will not be disappointed with Hannah Woodard Photography. We are looking forward to our next big life event to have them again!
Hannah and Ryan are incredibly talented photographers! They are so easy to work with, and made both my husband and I feel totally comfortable in front of the camera! Their eye for ...

rking together was a definite plus. While Hannah was taking formal photos of our family and wedding party after the ceremony, Ryan was able to get some great candids of our guests at the cocktail reception.
My husband and I aren't super comfortable in front of a camera, but the two of them made it very easy for us to relax while they took the formal photos. We also requested many candid shots and they delivered!
It has so nice to be able to relive the day through the beautiful photos they took for us! I would recommend them to any friends or family looking for a wedding photographer!
As I am sitting here scrolling through our wedding photos that Hannah captured on our wedding day, I can't help but think what it would be like if I didn't have Hannah as our photo...
grapher. And that's the thing-I can't imagine it.
She captures your personality perfectly, and is so thoughtful about taking pictures that she knows you would want and does it in such a beautiful, classic, unbelievably perfect way. The moment you meet her you will see her passion for photography-it's completely undeniable.
Cake gets eaten, flowers get thrown away, and when the guests are gone and months go by you will always have your wedding photos. And if you have Hannah as your photographer-I can promise you that you will want to look at them every single day. You will not regret your decision in choosing her as a photographer.

ooking process and really took the time to understand our preferences for photos even down to details like family dynamics. On the day of the wedding she had a great calming presence that really helped me relax and enjoy myself. Her photos were outstanding and we were so happy with how they turned out. We love looking at them because they captured the atmosphere of the day so well. Not to mention the fact that she edited them and got them to us quickly. In summary, I would highly highly recommend Hannah!
Don't skimp on your wedding photos people. Other than your ring and frozen cake, the photos will be your primary memories of the most important party of your life.

sponsive to our inquiries, punctual for our phone calls and face-to-face meet-ups, and was true to her stated vision from her webpage - she delivered quality photos while being pretty much in the background the entire time at our wedding. Other than providing cues to look at each other or look down, Hannah just stayed in the background and documented the wedding as a fly-on-the-wall...and the results are fantastic!
Hannah was fantastic! She drove all the way to Durham, NC to shoot our wedding, and she was a joy to work with throughout. She was prompt and responsive to all communication, and p...
ractically invisible during the wedding itself, while capturing some truly amazing shots. All the pictures came out beautifully, and she was always willing to go a little off the beaten path to help us get the shots we wanted. She's also very reasonably priced and offbeat-friendly, so you should absolutely choose her to photograph your wedding!

helpful during the craziness of the wedding. The photos turned out more beautiful than I could have dreamed and my husband and I both love them. Definitely check out her website, she will not disappoint!
