Here's a little about how I work:
VISUAL STYLE
SOFT - I shoot in a soft & dreamy style that captures the romance and mood of the day. I love a shallow depth of field for those soft backgrounds that makes the subject really pop.
CLEAN - I aim for correct, natural looking colors in our images - not overly saturated or overly faded, not too warm or too cool. I’m going for classic & timeless - avoiding heavy editing that will make everything look dated in just a few years.
NATURAL - While I know how to use external lighting when needed, I’m a huge fan of natural light. You just can’t beat it! You’ll find me gravitating toward taking photos outside or using window light inside whenever possible. When I do use external lighting, I’m typically aiming to recreate that soft, even lighting that doesn’t look overly “flash- y” or blown out.
APPROACH
CANDIDS - I love pretty details and romantic portraits, but by far, I feel that the honest, natural moments of the wedding are the ones you’ll treasure the most. While I will sometimes make suggestions as the day goes along (for example, I might guide you into the best light for a few getting ready shots), I’ll then stand back and let the moment unfold. I don’t tend to stage moments or overdirect. I want you to remember your wedding as a day of celebration, not a photoshoot.
NATURAL POSING - Even though I have a mostly photojournalistic approach, there probably will be some parts of the day you will want some posing for (your couple’s portraits, for example.) I always aim to avoid “the cheese” and work to create natural moments instead of stiff poses. We want you to look and feel like you!

beginning and throughout the entire time leading up to (and after) the wedding. She was so patient with me and my crazy schedule, too. Also, in the beginning, she and Ryan met up with me at the venue months before the wedding to talk in person and go over details. Hannah even braved inclement weather to ensure we did bridal portraits on the only day I could make it into town the last few months before the wedding. On the wedding day, Hannah and Ryan were subtle while they worked and got the job done (and did it extremely well!). And just when I thought things couldn't get any better, they brought out a drone for some seriously awesome aerial shots! Our wedding photos turned out absolutely amazing. Seriously, stunning.
