We chose Hans Fahden for our wedding venue and could not have been happier! We had a late April wedding with about 30 guests and everything was perfect. We looked at many venues to try to find one that would be willing to take on such a small wedding and also not have us feel like we had way too much space - while they can accommodate more guests, it was exactly what we were looking for. The garden was beautiful and our guests were wowed by the dinner setup in the cave. We worked with Vanessa Miller, who we connected with through Hans Fahden, as our wedding planner and she was great as well. The owner, Karen, drove us up to the mountain ridge for sunset photos and she was lovely. Oh and also, the wine is excellent! We would highly recommend Hans Fahden as a wedding venue (and winery)!
I recently had the most incredible wedding at Hans Fahden. From the moment my partner and I first visited the vineyard while dating, we knew it was something special. The owners were so accommodating and kind, and the wedding coordinator, Vanessa, was an absolute superstar. Despite unexpected weather, our photos turned out like something out of a fairytale. I can't recommend Hans Fahden enough for anyone looking for a magical venue for their special day. Thank you, Hans Fahden, for making our dreams come true! ✨🍷🎉
Absolutely gorgeous venue, the included vendors/recommended vendors was very helpful, and what could possibly be better and more unique then having dinner in wine cave?!
Any questions?
Fabulous venue for a smaller wedding, with great outdoor and indoor spaces, and very unique photo opps (a boat on their lagoon, wine cave, and an ATV ride to a hilltop for sunset photos). Their onsite coordinator Vanessa Miller made sure everything went super smoothly and was flexible in accommodating our preferences. Our guests were also impressed with their wine selection. Highly recommend this venue!
This was the first place my now-husband and I toured, and we fell in love with it immediately. It felt like the most magical garden wedding location we could imagine, and we booked as soon as we could.
The owners are very down-to-earth, kind, and professional people. We toured the grounds in March, and we knew the garden and lily pad pond would look much different (better) in August (the time of our wedding). It was absolutely gorgeous by the time our wedding rolled around, and we felt especially fortunate to have our wedding at such an incredible venue.
The 100 person maximum was a little challenging at times. If you are having a wedding here, save yourself the headache and please be very thorough with your guest list. The last thing you want to do is worry about exceeding this limit. That said, we felt the size of our wedding was perfect - intimidate (we had time to talk to all of our guests) yet full of excitement and life (felt like a big party).
Thank you for hosting such a beautiful wedding and memory. It's only been a few months and we look back on our wedding often, recalling all of the magic we felt in this gorgeous place surrounded by our family and friends. If you are able to book this place, consider yourself lucky! It is truly lovely in so many ways.
Hans Fahden Vineyards exceeded our expectations, Aubrey Stucker was super sweet and helpful. We visited the venue in March when none of the plants were in bloom but Aubrey was very descriptive and guided us every step of the way. We were not able to get a food tasting and put all our trust in Aubrey and Chef Adair, they did not let us down. The food was amazing! The venue looked gorgeous in September, all the plants and flowers in full boom. Hans Fahden put us in touch with Megan Reeves, our photographer, and she did a fantastic job for both our engagement and wedding photos. Our photo sessions were so much fun, she has a great spirit. Our officiant, Reverend Blane Ellsworth, put together such a beautiful ceremony. Erika @ EV Floral put together gorgeous flower arrangements. It's very helpful that all the vendors know each other and are like a family.

Great venue that comes with a top notch team of vendors! We had a destination wedding at Hans Fahden, and we would not have changed a single thing. From the food, to the cake and flowers. Everything was perfect. So happy we selected this venue. Enchanting, romantic, and timeless.
We got married at Hans Fahden in August 2018 and we could not think of a more perfect venue. Location is perfect for a smallish wedding (less than 120 guests). The estate is tucked away on a hill so it is very private. The wine cave is just magical and our guests were raving about it throughout the whole wedding. The grounds/gardens , including the lily pond and bridge, are great backgrounds for wedding photos.
The all-inclusive package they offer takes off a lot of the stress during the planning process. The events manager (Aubrey) is very responsive and answered our questions (we had a lot of questions!) thoroughly and with patience. She is absolutely amazing and we cannot thank her enough. We had the wedding we dreamt of with no issues.
The day-of coordinator (Jen) was great. She is a seasoned professional and she knows the venue very well. It truly helps that she has worked with the same group of vendors because they worked as a cohesive team.
Our guests absolutely loved the food (from All Seasons). Joanne is the catering manager and she is wonderful. She explained everything in detail. Our guests received large portions of high-quality food. We received so many great compliments on the food from our guests (even from very picky eaters!). We would highly recommend All Seasons, even for events that are not taking place at Hans Fahden.
We can go on and on about the how amazing our wedding and reception turned out to be. If we were to get married all over again, we would definitely still choose Hans Fahden again!
The most beautiful wedding venue ever. We got married April 7th and it poured rain!! We moved everything inside and had the beautiful French doors open in the background, you could hear the rain and see it as our backdrop and we had the room filled with flowers. Then the cave for dinner with little drips of water and puddles made it feel like a fairytale. We did all inclusive but substituted a few things here and there (ie. photographer.) it made it so easy!! We go back wine tasting for our anniversary every year!
I loved having my wedding here. It was so easy to set up and the whole day ran smoothly. Loved all the vendors that came with the all-inclusive wedding package. Highly recommended!
The most beautiful and perfect wedding I could ever imagine. The staff was always a phone call away during planning to help with my logistical questions since I was planning a destination wedding. Everything was perfect on the day of and ran smoothly. This place is amazingly beautiful and the wine cave was the best surprise for my guests!
My husband and I got married at Hans Hahden on May 6th, and all I could say is WOW. It turned out absolutely perfect...like straight out of a fairy-tale.
For starters, we don't live in CA. We are from the Midwest, just having a dream wedding in Napa Valley. Being so, when we started the search we needed to really trust the venue, events planners, and vendors as I would not be able to pop in, or work as closely as I would like to normally, to plan the wedding.
So while hunting out there we ran into a lot of...not the best events personnel...who either didn't bother to show up for our appointments or double-booked us, or just didn't seem all too interested during the appointments we got. We did have a couple nice, knowledgeable people, but our option pool was very narrowed by the end of the trip, between Hans Fahden and Brix. Both venues looked beautiful. We got home and sent emails to both event managers and asked for more information, Mary at Hans got back to us within hours. Brix, a few days later we got some very short responses from the manager there. The wonderful, informational, excited messages we got from Mary pushed us over the edge, along with the absolutely beautiful grounds, to sign the contracts with them. BEST DECISION EVER!
From that moment on, we were in communication with Mary while planning and she provided us with a full list of vendors and extra options for picking each and every aspect of the wedding. And again, Mary helped us plan the wedding with the best group of people in the Valley.
So fast forward to the wedding - fantastic! Weather was perfect, 75 and partly cloudy (best for pictures)! The garden was in full bloom. There were so many beautiful flowers and plants. The grounds were perfectly maintained. The lily pond was beautiful. The mountain-y feel was awesome too. Provided an elegant, rustic setting with the spring time bright florals and it was just magical.
Reyna was our day of coordinator and between her and Mary the wedding went off without a hitch. Had an incredible ceremony, followed by a dinner in the wine cave (which people could not stop raving about). The reception was so much fun and relaxed as we had the great room for dancing/DJ, and the doors open to the patio where our bar and photobooth were located along with adirondack chairs and some tables for people to hang out as well.
It was just fantastic and we are so thrilled we got married there! We have nothing but good things to say and would recommend the venue to anyone! Its the perfect balance of woods/mountain venue, mixed with garden and vineyard and it was the perfect location for our wedding!
We eloped to Napa and got married at Hans Fahden. The views were gorgeous. So many lovely places to take photos. Very romantic setting!
We had our wedding at Hans Fahden on April 23rd and it could not have been more perfect. The all-inclusive package for a destination wedding made planning the wedding from Chicago SO easy! Our wedding coordinator Sue Luna was spectacular - she was so helpful during the planning by answering questions and offering suggestions. On the day of the wedding, she made sure everything went off without a hitch. The venue was perfect, Michael Luna as the DJ was awesome, All Seasons catering offered a delicious dinner for our guests - I can't say enough about our wedding! We continue to get rave reviews from all our guests! Antone and all the vendors worked so hard to make our wedding a dream come true! We are so happy we chose Hans Fahden as our destination wedding venue!
Better than we could have dreamed. The setting at Hans Fahden was breathtaking. Our guests were blown away by the beauty. Jaws dropped when we opened the cave doors. The common theme in the reviews we received from our guests was "this is the most beautiful wedding I've ever been to." We credit the stunning landscape at Hans Fahden and the great staff. A special shout out to Jennifer, our day of coordinator provided by Hans. Truly a dream come true.
If you've always dreamed of getting married in an enchanted garden set next to a beautiful pond dressed with lily pads and a old wooden bridge. This is your venue. They offer an all inclusive package for weddings of 100 guests or 50. The package covers your food, which is a stunning 2 course sit down dinner starting with salad and then an entree either of your choice or you can let your guests choose. It also includes your cake, flowers, Dj, photographer, reverend/officiant, pianist for ceremony and cocktail hour, wedding planner, 2 cases of their wine and one case of champagne. So you'll need to bring in more alcohol depending on your guest count however they do not charge a corkage fee. It is a absolutely beautiful winery my husband and I fell in love with the second we step foot on the property. The aisle isn't any typical aisle. The bride will walk across a beautiful old wooden bridge that's covered in grape vines. We got married in the fall so the vines are a beautiful bright orange color. After the ceremony the bride and groom get tucked away at their own little table to share champagne and appetizers for 10 min or so while the guests get whisked away to cocktail hour up in the beautiful tea house which is dripping with gorgeous wisteria. My favorite part of all is after we finished pictures and cocktail hour we got announced into the great room. We stood in front of two grand cellar doors and thanked our guests for coming and then asked them to joined us for dinner. We each took a door and swung them open at the same time. The cellar doors lead into a ancient underground volcanic wine cave that was covered in what felt like thousands of sparking candles and beautiful fresh flower center pieces full of dahlias, hydrangea's and deep blood red roses. The guests all gasped. THAT moment I will never forget. Everyone ate dinner, gave toasts, laughed, cried and laughed some more. After dinner the guests are all invited back into the great room for dancing. We decided to add on a photo booth, which the dj provides and I HIGHLY recommend. It's very affordable and I'm telling you your guests will LOVE IT! It was a hit! While we were dancing we were secretly having the cave transformed into a lounge and our candy/treat table was being set up. Once again we revealed the cave and our guests were like little kids on Christmas morning running towards the candy and filling their bags with chocolate and other yummy treats. The candy table was not included with the venue. I've only been married for a little over 2 weeks but I'm still receiving compliments from guests that it was the best wedding they've ever been to. The word that keeps reoccurring is "magical". Which was exactly was I was going for and is the best word to describe Hans Fahden. Mary Pierce is the events director there and she was my wedding planner and has now become a good friend. My wedding wouldn't have been the dream come true it was, without her and all the wonderful vendors that she provided for me. I can't say enough good things about this place. Honest. There's always going to be little things that go wrong that are out of your control. I learned that they're not worth stressing over and ruining your day. The people at Hans Fahden will do anything in their power to make sure you and your new husband get your perfect happily ever after...we sure did.
We had the pleasure last week of having our wedding at Hans Fahden Vineyard in Calistoga, CA. We could not be happier with how our wedding turned out! The grounds are a beautiful winery nestled in the hills of Calistoga, CA. As an all-inclusive service they made planning our wedding a breeze. We met Anton Fahden last year while looking for venues to get married for our destination wedding, he gave great overviews and was helpful with any questions we had. Mary Pierce the events director, was also very resourceful in helping us set up our big day. She was our main contact throughout the year and answered all out questions quickly and was a joy to work with. Sue Luna was our coordinator and did a wonderful job making sure everything went smooth from the planning in the months before to the big day itself. Her attention to detail was extremely appreciated, as she remembered parts of our ceremony that we had forgotten! Sue as well as everyone involved made our bid day a dream wedding that we will never forget! We know that a huge part of that is due to everyone involved that we worked with. We would highly Hans Fahden and their all-inclusive package to anyone getting married in the Napa Valley region.
My husband and I visited Hans Fahden in February and fell in love with it instantly--we knew right away we wanted to get married there! Our wedding was on October 13, 2013 and the grounds were absolutely gorgeous. The different spaces (covered bridge with red ivy over a pond with lily pads, wine cave, tea house, vines in the distance) help you create your unique wedding story with your friends and family, and you get to re-live it in the amazing pictures (be sure to hire an awesome photographer). Our wedding was romantic, beautiful, and unique! The only con to getting married there is that there is absolutely no cell service at the site, which means when I forgot a medical device that I needed on my wedding day, my sister had to physically go back to our hotel because I couldn't call my fiance to ask him to bring it. But seriously that is inconsequential when I think about my amazing fairy-tale of a wedding day! Hans Fahden also provides the services of a day-of coordinator. Ours, Sue Luna, was great and kept us on track on the big day! My advice to all brides: do as much detail planning ahead of time so you can leave it to the pros and have a relaxing fun time at your wedding!
Growing up, I had a certain ideal wedding. Hans Fahden showed me that I didn't dream big enough. Getting married at Hans Fahden is like stepping into a Monet painting with the blooming flowers, wooden bridge, lily pond and requisite wooden row boat. The owner, Antone Fahden, spent the past 35 years nurturing each flower bush and tree and it shows.
The tea garden overlooking the pond provides beautiful views for the guests during the cocktail hour.
However, for a truly unique experience, the reception was held in a cave fitted with twinkling lights, flowers, and soft lighting. I had a guest say afterwards they expected Mickey Mouse to jump out and welcome everyone to a magical kingdom when we opened the cave doors. Everyone said it seem magical.
We chose the all inclusive wedding package for 100 and were both extremely glad that we did. Antone (owner), Mary (events director), and Jennifer (wedding coordinator) were all very helpful in allaying our fears while making sure our needs were met. One huge benefit to choosing the package is that all of the vendors have worked well with each other and understand what each vendor needs so they work as a team during the wedding. Most people don’t think about this while attending a wedding but as the bride or groom, you don’t want your caterer to have an issue with the florist or the photographer. We really felt that the vendors liked each other and provided guidance when needed.
i am hesitant to review, selfishly, i want to keep hans fahden as our special secret. it really is the most amazing venue. the gardens and pond could not be more lovely and the candlelit cave blew all our guests away! working with the staff at hans fahden was easy and the entire process was seamless. they really know what they're doing!
oh, and you can't beat free corkage! impossible to come by if you want a napa valley winery venue.
Hans Fahden was the first and only venue we toured - their gardens were beautiful, and the wine cave is simply amazing. They also provide most of the chairs and tables you need, which makes figuring out rentals a lot easier. The only issue I had was with the day of coordinator they provided - there was one instance where she kept messing up the timeline for all our musicians, but everything worked out fine in the end. On the day of, she was extremely helpful and everything ran smoothly.
They also have some strict rules about who you can have cater and provide music at the venue - but since I didn't have a particular caterer or band in mind before I booked with them, their restrictions were actually quite helpful just because it automatically narrowed down my choices, thus making things easier on me. But if you're dead set on a specific band/caterer at your wedding, you'll want to make sure they're allowed before you book.
We had the most perfect wedding at Hans Fahden Vineyards! We got married 10.05.12 and could not have had a more beautiful setting! It is a winery with a Monet inspired garden, complete with a vine-covered bridge over a pond full of lilly pads! Our guests could not stop commenting on how gorgeous Hans Fahden was and how incredible it was eating dinner in a wine cave. We really liked the fact that we could supply the alcohol and appreciated the extensive vendor list that they provided. Hans Fahden also provided us with a wedding day coordinator; Jen was wonderful and made sure everything ran smoothly and kept us on track. I HIGHLY recommend choosing Hans Fahden for a memorable wedding day!
Simply amazing. There are not adequate words to describe how beautiful this venue is. Our wedding was Sept. 7th. It was a perfect day in a perfect place. Antone Fahden and Mary Pierce were wonderful to work with throughout. They made everything simple and seamless from the time we booked the venue through the wedding day. The grounds are stunning and the cave (where we ate dinner) was magic. It could not have been more perfect.
My husband and I got married at Hans Fahden this past June and this venue far surpassed my expectations. Anton and Mary were easy to work with. The grounds are extraordinarily beautiful! Anton clearly puts alot of care into his ponds and gardens. The cave is stunning and helped cool our guests downs on a hot summer's day. However, the peace and serenity of this venue is what cemented our decision. We wanted complete privacy for our wedding, and the only sounds you'll hear at this venue are birds, bullfrogs, and crickets. Another great feature about this venue is that it includes all the ceremony chairs, parasols for guests to use on sunny days, cocktail and dinner tables, and gold chivari chairs. These included amenities saved us alot of money on rentals. All of this, and more, came at an incredibly reasonable price, especially compared to the other 20+ venues we viewed in the Napa/Sonoma area.
I can't recommend this venue enough!
This is such an incredible venue with the beautiful views and monet garden, but it is the owner and staff that really sets this place apart! The owner couldn't be nicer and more helpful. Their all inclusive wedding package made the planning process so easy and stress free. All the preferred vendors are perfection. I would strongly recommed this location to EVERYONE!
We got married at Hans Fahden May 1, 2011. The gardens were BEAUTIFUL and our guests loved the location. The main advantages to using Hans Fahden are:
- the have a wedding coordinator that comes with the price of reserving the location. They are responsible for contacting your vendors, coordinating a wedding time line, coordinating the rehearsal, and making sure everything runs smoothly. That was extremely helpful and our coordinator, Reyna Dean, was wonderful.
- Many different beautiful areas of the property- by the pond for the ceremony, the teahouse, the patio, the great room, the wine cave. It was fun to move from place to place.
- they have a nice area for the bridal party to get ready.
- they do A LOT of weddings, so everything ran smoothly.
We had a wonderful wedding and would recommend Hans Fahden.
We chose to have a small wedding at Hans Fahden and it was an experience I will always remember. The site itself is secluded and very beautiful with a garden overseeing the pond full of lily pads, a covered bridge, and a wine cave. We chose to have the ceremony and the dinner in the wine cave for it's uniqueness. The staff was ever so helpful and ensured that wedding ran smoothly. I continue to receive compliments from my guest on how memorable their experience was.
Hans Fahden is the most beautiful place to have a wedding! If you are looking for an outdoor setting, Antone's carefully cultivated gardens and beautiful ponds are an amazing backdrop. The photos we got in this setting were incredible! And more than a year later, people are still talking about our reception in the wine cave. The staff at Hans Fahden was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. We live in Connecticut and had to do a lot of long distance planning, but they made it easy! They even set you up with a day-of coordinator who helps plan the whole event. And the wine is delicious!
i can't imagine our wedding any different....Kit and Mary were so incredibly helpful and made the day so easy for us. The gardens, the parasols, the Tea House, the Cave, it was all a piece of heaven for us - even though the weather was so hot, we made it through and it was so wonderful. We had about 100 people and it was perfect. We want to do it again :) Calistoga and Hans Fahden have the perfect blend of rustic elegance, incredibly nice people and great class.
Beautiful gardens, casual elegant atmosphere, flexibility to hire own service providers, elegant wine cave created fabulous ambience for dinner;wedding coordinator was exceedingly overbearing, space is smaller than advertised, added expenses for outdoor sound that are not highlighted, all dance music has to be indoors with doors shut due to sound ordinances (which can make it hot in the summer time!)
We absolutely loved it! It was stunningly beautiful and was an amazing site for our wedding. Our guests loved dinner in the cave too. It was perfect!;The only downside was that we could only have 100 guests, no more. I think you can have 120 now because they expanded, but that is the maximum.
I loved the volcanic cave that we all had dinner in. The way the caterer set up the tables linens etc. was amazing. The outside was absolutely gorgeous. It looked like a botanical gardens.;The dancing area isn't really great. It's a cement floor surrounded by windows. We had an afternoon/evening wedding & we hired a D.J. with a really extravagent package- including lighting strobe etc. to create a 'dance club' feel. Well nobody ever got to even see the effects because there was too much light coming into the place. It didn't even get dark until around 8:30 pm. And we had to be out by 10:00 pm. I would've like to have a later 'night' wedding but they won't allow it there.
it was hosted in a wine cave, very unique
Our reception venue was unique above all others. Ceremony and reception was in the same place. Ceremony is lakeside in a garden where guests can stroll durring cocktail hour or guests can also go to the 'teahouse' (a wisteria covered outdoor structure). THe most unique and breathtaking aspect of Hans Fahden is most definitly the wine cave where dinner is heald. The doors to the cave are closed until the bride and groom open them dramatically to welcome their guests to dinner after making their entrance. Guests have no idea it is there and the beauty and surprise of it as I have been told it did at my wedding takes the guest's breath away.;There are a few. The first and most important advice I would give is to be wary of the DOC provided with your wedding at Hans Fahden. Mine was terrible! She would literally yell at my family and friends and did not ensure that half the things we had talked about were in place. The next thing I would warn about is that there is no cell phone reception there. Bring walkie talkies if you want to communicate on site! Lastly I would advise a bride to look into amplifing the ceremony. Guests told us it was hard to hear from the back row.
