Katie was more than we ever could have ever asked for. My sister had used her to get family pictures taken, and after seeing some of her work, we decided to book her. Our pictures were not at all staged, and she caught so many authentic moments.... She was organized, always on time, and truly concerned about us the day of our wedding. She knew when I needed a break, asked our bridal party to get back on our bus when taking group photos, and just told my husband and I to take a "walk." The photos on our walk were some of our favorite pictures (and most of the time, we didn't realize she was snapping), because we were able to just be "us." Several of my friends have also booked her for their weddings after seeing our wedding photos. Their engagement photos are divine, as well (the sunsets Katie caught are beyond words). She isn't afraid to go the extra mile to make the picture just right (she would stand on things, lay on her stomach, etc.). The day of our wedding she made sure there were always two photographers shooting different angles of the wedding/reception, and communicated with the other, as needed. She collected a list of most important individuals to capture, and prior to the wedding double and triple checked on times, locations, etc., and even went out on her own to the church, as well as the park where we were going to get pictures, in order to have an idea of what she wanted to shoot (what a time saver the day of). Katie became a friend by the end of my 10 month planning process, and I looked to her for calm the day of our wedding (which she was able to provide). She got our flash drive back to us with all of our photos about 6 weeks following the wedding (which was still very fast). Everyone that has seen my photos says that they wish their wedding photos were as "natural," "unique," and "fun." She captures the formal pictures that maybe mom, dad, and grandparents want, but also captures the ones that will make you immediately smile when you see them. When it was time to meet to collect the flash drive of wedding photos, my grandmother had passed away. My husband and I decided it was best to cancel our meeting, but Katie left framed pictures of my Grandmother and I at the wedding, and a nice letter about seeing her at the wedding in our door. This floored me that my photographer could care so much, and make the extra effort to help me see a light in a devastating moment. When we did meet with Katie to collect our flash drive, she also surprised us with a canvas picture from our wedding, which was gorgeous. Katie is a true professional, yet gets to know you well enough so that she can capture who you and your fiancé truly are the day of the wedding. She is a perfectionist, not only because it's her job, but wants everything to be right for you! I can't say enough about Katie, and I (as well as many of my friends and family) will use her for years to come. I hope this helps!
Thanks, and good luck to you and yours...happy planning =)!
