When my fiancé and I started looking for reception venues, a water view was a non-negotiable. We searched every venue on the water within a 25 mile radius. Most were disappointing ...and/or overpriced.
At first I didn't want to look at the Sunset Ballroom as the actual restaurant name is The Lobster Shanty and I was afraid my guests would not think it would be a classy wedding. However, we looked at the room and I really liked it and the staff there were very friendly and accommodating. Also, my family and I have been going there for years for family dinners when we used to own a summer house in the area. The more I thought about how nostalgic it would be, the more I wanted my wedding there.
Nancy and Jackie were incredibly friendly and accommodating. I can't praise them enough! As far as the actual night of the wedding, everything was spectacular. The cocktail hour was great. We went all out with the raw bar, sushi, etc. EVERYONE raved about cocktail hour, not only about how plentiful, delicious, and fresh everything was, but also how the waitstaff was so attentive, passing around plenty of hors' du oveures. The food really was delicious! When we got in the reception room, it was simply beautiful. The sunset was coming through the windows and everything was so elegant. Our sit down dinner was also delicious and everyone enjoyed. The staff was helpful and professional and truly made our night amazing!
I wouldn't have changed a thing!
Thank you Nancy, Jackie, Theresa, and everyone and The Lobster Shanty!
