We fell in love with the venue and the appeal of an island wedding in our home state, a destination wedding on a budget! While we faced the constraints of COVID closures over several months, Becky and staff quickly and seamlessly transitioned our wedding layout reception plans to meet all safety standards required for the time. After months and months of planning all we had to do was arrive and they had everything handled. Staff of the inn welcomed us in like family and guided us through our day from start to finish. Don't let initial appearances fool you, the inn is HUGE. I underestimated it's size from the online photos. The grounds are gorgeous as well. If you even get the chance to walk through the back garden in mid-late July/early August, do so. Along with the grandeur experience we were also treated to an incredible dinner that we still talk about. It was just.. WOW! I would do it all again, if I could. Who knows, maybe a vow renewal in the future will lead us right back here. Thank you so much Becky and the WONDERFUL staff at Harbour View Inn. You made our wedding ceremony and reception the most beautiful event of our lives!

She was so understanding, easy to work with, and always answered any questions questions we had immediately, as well as stayed on top of everything. The day of our wedding she was right there to walk us through everything. This was especially nice since my level of stress was high due to having to cancel our Niagara Falls wedding, and changing our location within two months the Harbour View was the perfect spot, we have no regrets.

e most beautiful ceremony and reception that I could have ever hoped for. First, the beauty of this venue took all my guests breath away! The gazebo and garden area where we held the ceremony was well taken care of and was finely manicured for my big day. At a first glance it seems like a normal gazebo and garden area, however once I was walking down the aisle I realized it was constructed to be the perfect ceremony venue. The trees are perfectly placed to keep the groom and bride hidden from each other until the perfect moment in the procession. This layout and processional timing had all the guests in heartfelt tears! Second, I would like to emphasize the amount of privacy we had on our special day. I read a previous review stating that people were walking through their ceremony, and I wanted to say that this was not a problem at all and that the hotel staff were guarding the pathways to our private ceremony the entire time. And even though there are hotel room balconies that look out to the ceremony space, we did not have any strangers peeping in. In addition to not letting strangers interrupt our privacy, the hotel staff was very accommodating to let us take pictures anywhere and everywhere on their grounds. Third, the reception was delightful. We were able to build our personal menu, and the food was phenomenal. Our wedding guests are a mix of picky eaters and exotic foodies, and I had both types of guests coming up to me telling me how much they loved the food. There were even jokes about stealing the leftovers! The chef came out and congratulated us personally, and was very kind to meet our wishes. In addition, the reception space is very beautiful and they let us decorate it with our own centerpieces and candles. Overall, this was hands-down the best venue choice for Mackinac island. They did not charge me an arm and a leg. They went above and beyond what any other venue would do.

She was excellent, very professional and did such a great job handling all of the details. She even helped calm my pre-ceremony jitters. Rick was our bartender, and may possibly be my new favorite person. On Thursday when we got to the Harbour View, he was already asking if he could get me anything, and he was so pleasant to be around. He always had me smiling and laughing and our guest just loved him. The rest of the staff was great and extremely polite. The wedding meal was excellent. The chef came out and personally congratulated us, which was such a sweet touch. We look forward to staying at the Harbour View Inn each time we visit the island. The grounds are maintained very well and it's in a great spot.

random people were just allowed to walk right through without being stopped.The food was fantastic, as was the hotel reception staff (although our room was tiny). Also, the hotel's event coordinator was great to work with but she did allow the (mostly unfriendly)wait staff and kitchen help to take my very expensive cake and eat ALL of our equally expensive leftover food after we requested to send it with elderly guests. I've gotten no reply to my messages regarding this.
