YES YES YES YES YES! I knew what I wanted! I wanted a lite navy blue with a petal pink tie. That is harder than you think until you come to Harleys.
First we went to Men's Warehouse who offered little - very little - color options for rental. After we had a horrible experience with an outlet in Waukegan with Jim's Formal Wear, where we actually paid to rent the suit from them because we wanted to make sure it was perfect instead of waiting until the week of to find out any issues. It was horrible! We brought the ill fitting suit to Harleys and explained what our issues were. The tailor pointed out all of the problem areas including the poking out pocket, the vest that was way too big and wouldn't stay strapped in place, the jacket that was too small, and the pants that were too short. The gentleman said "Harley's would never let you walk out of the store like that" and he was right! I believe the salesman's name was Bob and he was so professional and easy to work with for the guys. My now husband has said nothing but wonderful things about him! I got exactly the color I was looking for and the guys looked awesome! The guys also enjoyed the pool table and the beers while each was getting measured.
The week of the wedding when the suits came in there were a couple adjustments to be made and they were on it! All of the guys looked so good!! This was a very enjoyable experience and I highly recommend this location for not only a suit for a special event, but even for work suits as well.
I saw an ad in a bridal magazine for Harleys and was really intrigued. I didn't like the idea of going to a cookie cutter men's store for my husband's tux, even if it was a rental. I told him that if I could buy a really expensive gown for one day, he deserved to splurge on himself too. We went in to try on some tuxes but we figured out they don't really have any to try on as far as rentals go, but that they could order them from their supplier in Madison. We went that route, thinking we would rent. When the rentals came in my husband tried them on and he looked amazing of course. But then he tried on a tux for purchase and it was stunning on him. It fit him so well and you could tell it was great quality. All of the guys there were top notch, we had mostly worked with Bob. Bob was really honest and cared about making my husband look and feel great. We ended up purchasing the tux and they did the alterations in house. We rented the vests and ties. For some reason the wrong color kept being shipped (my husband wanted to try the color on way before the wedding). This was no fault of Harley's, but their supplier. Eventually they got the correct color in. I was looking at the picture and at the last minute we decided bow ties would be better than long ties. My husband called Bob the next day. This was the week of the wedding, but Bob was able to make the switch so that the correct bowties came in. We loved working with everyone at Harley's. You can tell they are all passionate about what they do and the like helping the guys make decisions they feel comfortable with. There was no pressure to buy vs. rent, and they go above and beyond every second they can, including last minute alterations even on the rentals. It wasn't that much more to rent at Harleys vs. Men's Warehouse, and the customer service definitely pays for itself.
