We are so grateful for Janet! She jumped in to help when our original harpist had to cancel, and she was such a joy to work with. She learned a TON of custom songs for us and she was so attentive and careful with our timing for song changes during our ceremony. She brought our entire ceremony together in such a beautiful way.
Janet is incredibly talented and professional, all the guests loved her! Best decision ever!
As a fellow professional harpist, I have worked with and known Janet for years. She is simply the best, and I cannot recommend her highly enough (and I would know - as I know hundreds of harpists from around the country.) I am responding to the negative review of Janet based on the fact that she doesn't accept bookings more than a year in advance. Neither do I. In fact, most professional harpists do not do so because we like to know that we will be able to honor our wedding commitments. There are far too many variables that may occur that would preclude our commitment to a wedding if we accepted bookings more than a year in advance.
It's entirely appropriate to say to a client that one would reconsider if they contact you again in 6 months. I have done the same.
Sincerely,

I was not happy with the lack of professionalism I received in response to my inquiry. I was told she doesn't book that far ahead, fine, but what really got me was that I was told she would "reconsider if I reached back out in January/February 2020." That sense of superiority and that I would be like for her to "consider" my business was incredibly off putting. As a paying customer I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere and would encourage other brides to do the same. No one needs to hire someone for their wedding day who feels like the bride would be lucky to have them..... that's just not good business practice or customer service.
Janet Witman was a joy to work with and represented the perfect combination of personable and professional. Janet was extremely well prepared and demonstrated the highest level of musicianship combined with gracious cooperation.
