Robert and the whole staff at Harry Merrill and Son were absolutely the best to work with. I purchased my wife’s engagement ring in March 2016. I went into their store not knowing a whole lot about rings or exactly what I was looking for. After speaking with Robert, they were able to help me find the perfect engagement ring without any of the pressure that I figured would accompany a ring purchase. The quality of the diamond is great, the ring is very unique, and she receives many compliments on her ring. My wife and I like them so much that we purchased both of our wedding bands from Harry Merrill and Son as well. They were easy to work with and so willing to answer any of our questions. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to purchase wedding rings and other fine jewelry in Philadelphia.

It was a fantastic experience and the staff was so warm and friendly and worked with me through the process. I got my fiancé's grandmother's estate ring resized and detailed here. When they were done it looked like new! It was even ready for my upcoming visit to my fiancé. I was so pleased and now am wearing it on my right hand every day. I loved working with them so much that I also got my engagement ring custom designed and made there. I had a general idea about what I wanted but was generally pretty clueless. They were so patient and worked with me showing me different diamonds, settings and looking at pictures with me for inspiration and were never pushy. When I picked up my ring (in time for Christmas! Only about a 3 week turn around!) it was everything I could have imagined and so incredibly beautiful. My fiancé and I were both blown away by the service and quality here and I plan to go in the future for any jewelry needs I have :)

They are very competitively priced compared to other stores, Robert was incredibly helpful picking out the perfect diamonds that fit our budgets, and we both get compliments on the design and sparkle of our rings on a regular basis. While I was walking down Jeweler's Row in Philadelphia, I saw a ring out of the side of my eye and it stopped me dead in my tracks! I am obsessed with flowers. I wear a flower in my hair every single day. I am also obsessed with vintage 1950's era things. They had the perfect ring for me! It is white gold (which is better on my porcelain skin tone than yellow gold) and it has a flower shaped cluster of diamonds with a sapphire in the middle. It is a one of a kind estate piece that was made in 1950. It is absolutely perfect for me!!! Also, the price was very, very reasonable. My husband (fiancee at the time) didn't even have to charge it because it was so affordable that he just paid for it in cash. AWESOME experience!

Robert at Harry Merrill & Son was a pleasure to work with. He helped us my fiance with my engagement ring and also both of our wedding bands. We were very pleased with their work and craftsmanship. I simply cannot overstate how impressed I am with Harry Merrill & Son, Inc. After moving to Philadelphia from Atlanta, I was in search of a local jeweler to do some custom work and relied on internet reviews to guide me. From my first correspondence with Robert to my last conversation with Nicole, I have been consistently amazed at their ability to balance professionalism and expertise with friendliness and approachability. I used Harry Merrill & Son, Inc. to design a custom pendant from the materials in a topaz ring passed down to me from my mother. Throughout the design process I was treated with the utmost patience and concern. They worked with me until the design was exactly what I wanted. The old ring my mom gave me was ugly and outdated, but now I have a brand new, stunning necklace to enjoy for years. I also plan on wearing the necklace on my wedding day as part of the “something old something new, something borrowed something blue” tradition. The blue topaz will add a special touch to my ensemble. My boyfriend Andrew also used Harry Merrill & Son, Inc. to custom design my engagement ring. I consider myself an incredibly picky, hard-to-please individual with unique tastes, and none of the rings I saw in stores were good enough. By working with Harry Merrill & Son, Inc. Andrew was able to custom design the ring of my dreams. He spent months going over potential design options with Robert and Nicole before settling on the perfect plan. One of my favorite details on the ring is the custom engraving which was done in much more detail than is available anywhere else on the market. Even though we were working with a tight budget, Robert and Nicole treated us like we were their VIPs and never pressured us to spend more. When I received the ring, I realized that I had incorrectly informed Andrew of my ring size. The ring was just a little too big, but I didn’t say anything for a few days. I was afraid to cause a problem and tried to convince myself that the ring really did fit. Finally I broke down and told him about the problem. I panicked and thought that the ring could not possibly be resized due to the intricate engraving along the entire band. The very next morning, he called Nicole and she kindly reassured him that the ring could be professionally resized and the engraving could be touched up—all free of charge. In my opinion, Robert and Nicole are miracle workers. I am so happy to have found such a wonderful jeweler, and I look forward to doing all my business with Harry Merrill & Son, Inc. in the future.

I was referred to work with Harry Merrill & Son Jewelers. They have a great store with a mix of older estate rings, designer rings and they also offer custom designs. I worked with the family and felt very comfortable with the whole process. They really listened and understood just what I wanted. The ring was custom designed and I was able to see and review images of the ring via e-mail before the final ring was made. The final ring was perfect and the rest is history. I highly recommend them.
