Harter Bakery

For low prices, this bakery is unmatched. For fancy designs or above and beyond customer service, go elsewhere. The cake turned out fine, maybe not as nice as we'd envisioned but it was lovely. We did 25 dozen donuts, a 2 tier cake, and 2 sheet cakes with the $60 delivery fee for a very reasonable cost, roughly $700, which is much much less than other bakeries were offering. Calling them on the phone is worthless though, you have to go in in person to clarify or request anything, and even so the scribbled up piece of paper that our order was written on made it almost impossible for the next employee who helped us adjust our order to know what was even written the first time around. It's amazing our order actually came out as requested.

My husband's family have been going to Harter's for decades. His sister got her wedding cake from them and it wasn't a question in our mind on who we wanted to make our wedding cake. We got repeated compliments on the cake. The icing wasn't too heavy and was just right and not too sweet. The cake itself was just light enough and we added raspberry filling which made it even better. We go there often to get donuts, pies, and other products and will continue to support this local bakery. Cannot recommend them enough and very budget friendly!

Harter Bakery came included with our venue package and we are very grateful for that! The cake was absolutely delicious!! It was delivered on top and they set our cake topper for us. It was beautiful and looked exactly as we expected! We had both chocolate and white cake with the buttercream frosting, all the guest talked about how delicious it was. Would highly recommend!

I am very pleased with my experience with Harter's. Their desserts are very reasonably priced considering how great they are! They accommodated a last minute change with covid with no issues.

Harter's made the most beautiful, delicious cake we could have ever imagined at my daughter's wedding. Working with them was no frills - we got down to business! My daughter had pictures of what she wanted and they matched it exactly. Plus, it was absolutely delicious! They are my new bakery for everything!!!

I had so many people make a point to find me at the reception just to tell me how much they liked the cake/ ask me who made it! It was a huge hit! Several guests told me it was the best wedding cake they’d ever had! Harter was also great to work with. We booked them through our caterer, but they were easy to get in touch with and delivered exactly what we were looking for!

Harter Bakery made us a beautiful wedding cake that was also utterly delicious! Everyone loved it! Our caterer, Lochirco STL Catering, recommended them and works with the regularly so we went for a tasting and immediately loved it. Montana was so helpful and the final product was outstanding!

Our wedding cake was DIVINE. We had a five-layer square cake, some layers with fresh strawberries. I have always loved Harter Bakery and knew that's who I wanted to make our wedding cake. I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted walking in (I knew I wanted square vs round tiers) and they were awesome at helping me narrow that down. We worked with Amy and she was fantastic. We ended up combing the styles of two different wedding cakes from their book and it turned out PERFECT. Guests raved about how good the cake looked AND tasted. We were bummed we didn't get to eat any at the reception (we were too busy visiting and dancing), but were able to eat some the day after and it was SO GOOD. HIGHLY recommend Harter Bakery. They're a small bakery, but so easy to work with and provide top-notch results. Thank you for making the wedding cake of our dreams!

Our cake was included in the price of our venue. We had the option to go somewhere else, but why would we? We tasted cakes at Harter and decided why spend the extra money? The cake was good. We only had to pay a $30 delivery fee. (Also, the icing rocks!)

Love this place!! Our wedding cake was included with our venue but when they told me it was Harter's, I couldn't have been more pleased. My family gets all of our cakes for many different events from this bakery and have never been disappointed. So moist, delicious and beautiful!!

We were recommended to Harter's from Andre's at Sunset Hills. We had 3 options of white, yellow and chocolate cake. We decided to go with traditional white wedding cake with their buttercream frosting. It was delivered and looked so beautiful on our wedding day! We received so many compliments on the cake and how good it was. Just goes to show sometimes you can't go wrong with the basics! Thank you Harter's for the amazing cake!

We did not actually choose Harter Bakery to make our wedding cake, they were included in our package with Andre's. Our experience with them was very good up through the wedding day. My husband became sick the day of our cake tasting and Harter boxed up our samples to take home, which was very accommodating. The cake was delivered on time and looked fantastic. I actually did not get to have any at the reception and neither did a handful of guests (including family members) as there was not enough cake. This is by far my largest complaint. We actually had less guests show up then our final head count that was provided. We were told the size of the cake was dependent on the guest count, yet we ran out. My husband and I the next day did each have a slice from the top of the cake that was wrapped up to be sent home with us, even though we asked that the top be served to guests (fault of the venue, not the bakery), and it did taste very good. In the end, just very disappointed that there was not enough cake to be served to all the guests at our wedding.

Our cake turned out perfectly. 😍 The only reason it isn't a five star is because of the employees other than the one who does the wedding cakes. They're rude and irritating. They act like you're a pain in the tookus and don't care at all. Just deal with the person who does the cakes. She's amazing and patient!

Our reception was at Andre's West and they pair with Harter's as part of their wedding packages. We had a cake that fed 250 people and it was beautiful. It turned out exactly the way we planned it with the cake decorator. We chose to pay a little extra for their red velvet and their white cake with strawberry filling. Both were amazing!

Harter bakery was the chosen bakery for our Reception hall, but that didn't mean that they weren't out to impress! They were oh so easy to work with and were so great to accommodate all of our requests! They even matched a color swatch that I sent for the icing so the grey color matched the bridesmaid's dresses perfectly! PLUS of course the cake was DEEEELISH!! We got lots of compliments and I can not wait to eat the top layer of red velvet on our first anniversary next year!! :)

Our cake was through Harter's Bakery but included in our package for our reception with Andres Banquet. This is the best cake too have ever head. So moist. We went with just the yellow cake which is by far my favorite. They called me the morning of the wedding to clarify something on decorating the cake, which had me a little worried, but I'm glad they wanted to make sure it was perfect and it was beautiful!

I really loved how my cake turned out looks wise. I had a picture I sent the person from pinterest and they nailed it perfectly. I ordered different flavors for the different cake tiers. I highly recommend the white and raspberry cake it was amazing. I also loved yellow cake and strawberry filling. Unfortunately, the banana cake did not turn out that well, it was semi-dry and not very flavorful. The customer service was average. I received excellent service for the cake tasting but average at best, when calling. The staff when I called was rather rude, had a long wait time, and had an error in my file when I made the payment and it was not credited, but it was corrected with apologies and it all worked out in the end.

Harter Bakery was recommended by our caterer, Andre's Banquets. The cake tasting was very relaxed, and the cake arrived without any trouble. I'm told the cake was delicious, but I only had time to eat one bite. We are pleased with our choice of bakery!

Harter Bakery was the vender that did our cake. It was included in our package with Andres. We got a three tiered cake. We kept it simple to stay in budget, but we are very pleased with how beautiful it was! There was white frosting, with tiffany blue swirls and accents. The bottom layer was white, the middle layer was yellow, and the top layer (for the groom and I) was carrot! It was absolutely gorgeous, and they delivered it to our venue, and took the ornaments we had on the table for it, and made sure that it was well placed. We are so happy with how it turned out! It tasted very good, and we were so excited that our guests actually ate the cake! Grandma is still talking about it weeks later!

Harters Bakery was AMAZING. The staff was easy to work with. The price was reasonable--REALLY REASONABLE! Many of the guests said that the cake was DELICIOUS! I didn't get to have a piece, but the piece I had at the tasting was AWESOME. Highly recommend!

My delight in dealing with Harters began with the taste testing! Me, my fiance, my mom, and my grandpa all went to try 6 different types of cake. Once we determined which four we wanted to go with (a VERY difficult decision by the way), going through the rest of the options was a breeze - and they even threw in the pillars for free! We went with white on the bottom, then chocolate, then amaretto, and the top tier was red velvet. The night of the wedding, the cake was delicious! And the day after, me and my new husband sat and ate way more than we should have! Our top tier has been wrapped and preserved for our one year anniversary! But, I can honestly say that if we are in need of a bakery item in the future, I will definitely use them!

My fiance and I both love gooey butter and wanted that as our wedding cake. Montana was helpful and even offered for us to come try different flavors of their gooey butter to see what we would like best. We opted for traditional flavor and it was a big hit at our reception!

Harter did an amazing job on our wedding cake. I was exceptionally surprised at how moist it was! Everyone loved it! They also worked with us to do the design that we wanted even though they hadn't used that design before. Terrific vendor!

The cake was delicious. However, I was not particulary happy with the way it was decorated. I thought it would be more colorful and it wasn't. However, Harter's was a preferred vendor for Andre's Banquet Center and the price was just right.
