otos. For our wedding in April he got plenty of candids but also posed shots. His style is very Northwest (exactly what we were looking for) and I'm so excited to have and share these photos for life. He shared photos with my vendors so they could easily use them for their sites as well. If we still live in the area when we have little bb's I'll definitely be reaching out to him for maternity!

ff the bat Dan only wanted to shoot where he wanted to go, tried to throw out some places that were very special to my fiancé and I and he shot down all my ideas and then later let me know that "I hired him because I liked the image of his photos" Essentially shutting my voice out, which was hard because of how much his photography costs, I wanted to feel like I had some say in our engagement photos. Then for the engagement session it was very impersonal and he almost seemed irritated the entire time. After our engagement shoot I needed a couple photos back in time to put on our invites and Dan missed every single deadline in sending back the photos in time (over a month past his deadline to get us all finalized pics.) All in all later in to the wedding planning I broke my arm and was out of work for two months and my dad as suddenly diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and we could no longer afford Hatch Photography, along with many other wedding expenses :( My mom e-mailed him to let him know of the life altering circumstances that were handed to us and that we could no longer afford him. We asked for grace and to have our deposit refunded because of the unique situation and Dan did not give us back our $1000.00 deposit. On top of that about half of the photos we got back from Dan my fiancé looked bald because of the way the sun was reflecting on his head and I asked him to please go back and edit these pics and he responded letting me know he doesn't know how to use photoshop and that he doesn't like to "change the image of his photography" I let him know that was a bummer because we paid 1000.00 for this engagement session and he replied I did not pay that much for an engagement session but that money was for the deposit of our wedding day. To me 1000 is a 1000, and it was a 1000 I didn't have anymore to spare. Dan is very inflexible, misses deadlines and aims to do the bare minimum for his brides. I would HIGHLY recommend to look elsewhere for a photographer and save yourself a headache. Find someone who is willing to hear your voice because it is your day and it is a lot of money to throw away on someone who is in to photography only for themselves not their clients.

und Dan with hatch photography we knew we had to go with him! He was so easy and personable to work with! He seriously exceeded our expectation with our engagement shoot and what we have seen out of our wedding photos! Whether it was in the middle of snow in the Mt. Baker area or in the pouring rain in the busy, hectic Pike Place Market, all the shots he got of us were absolutely breathtaking ! He definitely takes the awkwardness out of taking pictures and makes it fun! I couldn't be more thankful for him and Mikaela on our wedding day and I have no doubt he will make every other couple feel the same way! My highest appreciation and recommendation!

I love his casual style while he shoots and how he captures you in your element, and not over posed. His images are truly art and I felt beautiful in the photos he took. single photo we got back was perfect! He captured all the little details (which I love so much) exactly how I wanted and also made my husband feel 100% comfortable during the photos! Dan is hands down the best, and you will not be disappointed one bit!

nd I got in touch with him for our wedding. From the first call we knew working with him would be an amazing experience. Dan’s passion for his work is evident from the first glance at his IG or website. He is extremely personable, organized and patient! He listened to all our back and forth about where to shoot the engagement photos and was super understanding when we had to reschedule it last minute. The day of the wedding I didn’t have to stress one bit about Dan and his team capturing all the important moments. We all felt like a little family as we ran through downtown Seattle taking pictures. Dan and his team captured so many “WOW” photos, it’s impossible to pick a favorite one. Working with Hatch Photography was an incredible experience from start to finish. I can’t imagine having gone through our day with anyone else.

I love the way he is able to direct his couples in a very natural way. His photos NEVER look cheesy or super posed, but rather natural and very stylistic. But, after he did our engagement photos and I saw how genuine and easy going he was I knew we had made the perfect choice and that on our wedding day, I didn't have to stress one bit about him capturing every special moment. I should add I didn't have to give him a list of any specific photos I wanted/needed...he is experienced and definitely knows what he's doing. Our photos are so beautiful, we get many compliments on them and we are so grateful for Hatch Photography for capturing our wedding day, which goes by in the blink of any eye, the photos are something we can look back and remember those moments for the rest of our lives.
