Havisham House is a dream wedding venue. We had our ceremony outside and our reception was inside, and everything was gorgeous. Every single employee on staff is so kind and helpful. Jerri and Nick are amazing owners. Sarah helped us the weekend of the wedding; she went above and beyond to answer our questions and help that weekend with the best attitude. Our guests were wowed by the venue service and the beauty of the venue itself. It is an amazing background for photos. The venue offers a "borrow room" for couples to borrow wedding decorations that other couples have left for free. The borrow room at the venue saved us so much time and money. As part of booking a weekend wedding, you are able to stay in the two houses on property for the weekend. That helped a lot with setting up for the wedding and for relaxing after the wedding. Overall, our wedding weekend was a dream, thanks to the amazing staff and the venue. I would highly recommend this venue.
Having our wedding day at Havisham House was MORE than a dream! From start to finish, Jerri was a pleasure to work with, and she was so accommodating with everything we needed to have a wonderful Tuesday wedding. Jerri had so many local recommendations, ranging from florals, to dresses, hair, makeup, photography, videography, food, local places to stay, and so much more. We also loved being able to use items from Jerri’s “borrow room” to elevate our wedding decor without spending a fortune! Both the Havisham House and the reception pavilion provided the sweetest and most charming location for our wedding nestled right in the hills of Southern Illinois. I would recommend Havisham House to anyone looking for a wedding venue with special charm and character, or to anyone looking for a great venue owner to work with! Havisham has it all!

Originally completed in 1892 by A.J. Rendleman, Havisham House is a testament to the French-Victorian style of architecture. The structure features tall windows and a porch stretching around the front of the house. Encircled by carefully tended gardens, this venue provides a stage for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies. Should you choose to celebrate in resplendent Illinois nature, you can arrange to seat up to 200 guests in the lush grass. Exchange your vows under the property’s aged trees, letting the beauty of your surroundings illustrate the tenderness of your service. This natural magnificence can also serve as a background to your all-important wedding portraits. Following your ceremony, you and your guests can venture to the main house. This rich, red brick home is as much characterized by its iconic exterior as it is the deftly decorated interior. Through each room runs a theme of time-honored glamour, with antiques at every turn. From vintage gold tap-heads in the bathrooms to the decadent stained glass windows of the house’s upper level, this venue is committed to dignified design. You may host a cocktail reception in the main level and enjoy a cozy reception meal in the formal dining room. For ease of preparation before your special day, you’re invited to avail of the upstairs romantic bedrooms. Two bedrooms featuring queen beds and a full bath allow you to start your celebration in ultimate style. The property also boasts an adjoining carriage house that additional members of your entourage can use for getting ready. These facilities can also be used as post-celebration lodgings for couples and their guests, with an overnight capacity of 12 guests maximum.
A fully flexible venue, Havisham House offers wedding packages that include the entire rental of the property for the weekend of your celebration. This ensures you will have ease of access for the event’s setup and teardown without feeling rushed to wrap up your occasion. Outside vendors are welcome, and the knowledgeable staff is also happy to provide their list of recommended local vendors. I have been married for over 20 years to my high school sweetheart and have three beautiful daughters. My degree and work experience is in public relations and marketing. Havisham House is my pride and joy. It is historic (built in 1892) and so very charming. My goal is for you to look back on your wedding venue choice with love and amazing memories.
