the ceremony/receptipn space. Hawthorne was perfect and beautiful. Lindy and Reagan were so easy to work with and answered all of our questions and concerns. Too many pros to name because we had such a great day and experience with Hawthorne- there’s a reason they’re so highly sought after), just a couple of cons- accessibility: people with mobility issues have a difficult time getting in and out of the chapel, and there is not an accessible bathroom on the main floor of the Emerson Hall. And wish we had all day access for the venue. We didn’t have access until 10am for our 4pm wedding, so had to start hair and makeup offsite, which wasn’t a huge deal, but the magnolia room is so beautiful, I would’ve loved the time to get ready there without having to pay a couple thousand more dollars to get there at 7 or 8am.

Their attention to detail, organization and support helped everything run smoothly, allowing us to enjoy every moment of our special day. From checking on us when getting ready to bringing us snacks after the ceremony, they looked out for us to ensure we were happy and comfortable the entire night. They were even able to pack everything up at the end of the night which was a huge help to our family. We will never forget their hospitality and kindness! And for making our day truly memorable!

She was always pleasant, never got rattled, and ran the evening in a seamless way. Our daughter and son-in-law loved their wedding day and Hawthorne House will always be a special place to our family going forward. We would highly recommend this beautiful venue!!! 5 Stars for sure!!!!

reasons we chose HH. Knowing in case of rain, we were able to move inside took one thing off of our list of worries for wedding day. Secondly, Regan (who we used as the in house coordinator) was THE BEST part of our wedding day. She knows so much about planning, & she made the day flawless. We had people asking if they could hire her for their wedding day! Lindy was always prompt with responding to emails & sending us quotes for the bar menu, rentals, etc. I will recommend HH to everyone I know. They made our day a dream come true & I will miss our wedding planning meetings!

em! The team was so incredibly helpful and kind leading up to the wedding and our coordinator, Regan, made the day go by smoothly for me, my husband, our wedding party and our guests! It was so amazing to have her guidance and support through the whole process. You can’t even tell from the pictures how behind this place truly is. Planning our wedding from across the country was a breeze as we utilized several of the in house rentals, and Hawthorne House allowed us to arrive into town the week of the wedding and have very little to worry about in terms of preparation. The planning resources lindy provided helped us to think through everything we would need to prepare. Everything about this venue is just beautiful! We got ready in the bridal suite, all pictures on the stunning property, married in the chapel, hosted a cocktail hour outside, and had our reception in the Emerson room. Getting to walk across the bridge to enter the ceremony while music is flowing out of the chapel… it’s everything I dreamed of! Having everything all in one spot for the wedding day allowed us to make the most of our time and soak up every minute without worrying about transporting around. Everything about this venue is timeless, classy, and very well kept. I would highly recommend this venue to any bride looking for a dreamy wedding venue in the Kansas City area!

o we could book the venue while living in England)! The property itself is so beautiful that we barely added any extra decor, just a few flowers on the table for the reception. The chapel is what sold us! I always dreamed of getting married in a white chapel and having the option of a beautiful indoor ceremony space for a wedding in Missouri in August is a must!! So many of our guests continue to comment on how beautiful the property is and I truly believe that the reason our wedding day was so chill and relaxed was due to how amazing this venue is! We love the Hawthorne House and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone!!

s, the huge porch, the lovely bridal suite, and the amazing reception hall... it has everything!! The team was super easy to work with and communication was clear and easy. They offered cute add-ons to make your day feel personal and perfect (lawn games, customized drinks/napkins, decorations for the chapel, etc.). I truly couldn't picture myself getting married anywhere else, it was a dream!!

everyone in my family and bridal party knew who Regan was and said she was amazing. Any questions we had for the day were easily answered by Regan. My mom said someone made the comment that it was the best run wedding they had ever been to. They ran everything so I could completely relax that day. Everyone at Hawthorne House was great throughout the planning process and always answered my questions within a day of messaging them (most of the time it was the same day). I think I asked them to make at least 10 layouts for the reception and they were happy to keep doing it until I had something I was happy with. On top of the wonderful team, this is the most beautiful venue you will find. I picked it because I always wanted and outdoor ceremony, but it had the chapel on site which was a backup that would be just as wonderful. The weather was perfect and my day was glorious. Many guests commented it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to.

My mom and I were also so impressed every time we visited how clean it was… always in perfect condition. Everything so shiny and feeling new and fresh!! The peonies were even popping which was so fun!! Highlyyyyy recommend!!

eather was perfect, but it took so much stress off of the weekend knowing the chapel was easily available if it was too hot or rainy. There was no need to add any extra outside decor or flowers due to the perfect landscaping and beautiful hanging baskets along the porch and around the gazebo. The porch with the overhead fans was a great spot for the older guests to sit and enjoy the evening while the younger crowd danced the night away. We got so many compliments on this aspect of the property and how everyone, not just those dancing, had a wonderful evening! The venue was accomodating with virtual meetings since we live out of state and even allowed us to set up the day before during their typical office hours since there was no other wedding that Friday evening. We got so many compliments about the entire wedding and the simplicity, yet natural beauty of the venue.

We had our ceremony in the beautiful chapel & took advantage of the beautiful outdoor weather for cocktail hour - where we rented their lawn games for guests to enjoy! The venue had beautiful photo opportunities, so all photos were taken on-site! The reception space is breathtaking & so spacious. The space is perfect for an elegant dinner and a FUN dance party later in the night! We have 0 regrets about booking at HH & hope we can go back one day to see another happy couple get married there! Hawthorne House is hands down the BEST wedding venue in KC & I know all of our family & friends agree! the hassle of flipping the reception room to accommodate for both ceremony and reception in case of bad weather. There is a beautiful chapel on-site as well as an outdoor ceremony space in front of a gazebo. My wedding morning started off running a little behind with hair and makeup (my fault for not going in the middle like they suggested), but besides the point! Even though we were running behind on the timeline it didn't fully matter because EVERYHTHING is done there with no travel time from where you get ready, to where you are taking pictures, to the ceremony. Because of this, we ended up being totally fine on time and even had time to spare before the ceremony to do some quick touchups. Hawthorne House is the best of the best!

I LOVED that there are so many beautiful locations to photograph on property, so that you can get a variety of photos without having to leave. The bride's suite is gorgeous - 10/10. Elizabeth and her team made the planning process so easy. They are super timely, provide lots of good recommendations and suggestions (decor examples, reception layout, recommended vendors, etc), and help to make sure no detail is forgotten and that you are really prepared for your day. Quite a few of our guests said that our wedding was the best they've been to, and Hawthorne House was obviously a huge part of that.

and Hawthorne House itself is stunning. The venue is truly beautiful, and we purchased and rented minimal decorations because it looked so elegant with simple floral highlights. Having two getting ready rooms on site was convenient and made photography and videography much easier; they could go back and forth between rooms easily, and we got a lot of great getting ready photos because of it. There were so many great places to take photos, so we ended up with a wide variety. I was worried that the cold would limit photo locations because we couldn't stray too far from the venue, but there were so many pretty locations inside and immediately outside the building that it wasn't an issue at all. So much of the venue was customizable and they work really closely with some of KC's top-rated vendors, so if you stick to their vendor list it almost has an all-inclusive feel. We used their recommendation list for almost every single vendor we booked, and they were all so familiar with Hawthorne House that communication was almost completely stress free. There was a transition in venue managers because we booked almost two years in advance, and Kim made the process feel very seamless. She was very responsive, even for all of my last minute questions with table layouts and guest count fluctuations. Kim and Elizabeth, the owner, were both so helpful. I had a lot of what-if questions and recommendation requests based on what others had done with the venue, and they were always quick and never made me feel like a bother. The Instagram page was also a huge help. It gets updated frequently, and I saved quite a few of the posts to help with inspiration. I really can't recommend the venue enough. The biggest tragedy is that we won't get to explore the grounds and buildings anymore now that the wedding is over. The venue is truly charming, and they made our wedding day feel amazing and look beautiful.

Elizabeth and her team (Kim & Regan) were so easy to work with and they definitely know what they are doing as far as helping you create & execute a beautiful wedding day. We felt it was easier to pull off a gorgeous wedding when the backdrop was this amazing venue. They also have several beautiful rentals available that kept us from having to use an outside rental company. The bridal party made wonderful memories getting ready in the newly renovated Magnolia Suite & the guys enjoyed getting to watch college football in their suite. We would highly recommend HH and hope we have a chance to attend a wedding there in the future!

Hawthorne House because of the sweet southern charm, natural light in the reception space, and the flexibility of an indoor or outdoor ceremony. Not only is the space itself beautiful, but Elizabeth, Kim, and the rest of the HH team are wonderful to work with. They were responsive, always willing to answer questions, and made us feel at ease during the planning process. The “getting ready space” for the bridesmaids was absolutely perfect—our hair and makeup vendors had plenty of space and proper lighting to work their magic and the bridesmaids really enjoyed having access to the sitting area and porch off the Magnolia room. Last but not least, this venue lends itself to the most beautiful pictures. The lush landscape and sweet front porch created the perfect backdrop for our pictures. Having our wedding at the Hawthorne House was such a dream and we wouldn’t change a thing about our special day. Thank you, Hawthorne House!

The outdoor cocktail hour had tables set up for our guests to relax and enjoy the vast yard. We also took advantage of the beautiful scenery for pictures before and after the wedding. Samee and I would highly recommend!

staff was responsive and professional and my daughter got the fairy tale wedding of her dreams!! The bridal suite upstairs for the bridal party to get ready in is simply the best I've ever seen! It's huge!! Plenty of room for all the gals to get their hair and makeup done! My daughter opted for an outdoor wedding by the gazebo, but it was nice to know we had the beautiful chapel as a backup! And because they have both the gazebo and the chapel for the wedding, you don't need to "flip" the venue for the reception! All in all, it was a prefect day and Hawthorne House was the very best choice we could have made!!

s with any policy changes due to COVID, provided helpful information about wedding planning in general, and were very responsive about any question we had. Between touring the HH in 2019 to getting married in 2021, we felt that we had a great connection with the Hawthorne House at all times. They even brought in special Gin and Tonic Syrup to make a signature drink that was important to me and the groom! Overall, we chose the Hawthorne House because it would allow for a non-flip wedding, offered indoor or outdoor ceremony locations, has a timeless look, beautiful grounds, and is big enough for everyone to spread out! One thing I was bummed by was the lack of time prior to the ceremony to get ready, and the getting ready drink pricing. We opted to get ready at an off-site location because with 8 bridesmaids, 2 moms and a bride, the 11am access time for a 5:30 ceremony (with photos before-hand) just wasn't enough time to get ready in the beautiful getting-ready suites on-site. Once you're on-site, you also cannot bring outside alcohol due to their liquor license and the pricing for providing drinks from the HH for the wedding party before the ceremony is around $5 per bottle (depending on what you get - beer, white claws, etc) which I felt was a bit steep. Nonetheless, the venue was perfect for our big day, and I would recommend the Hawthorne House to any couple.

Her down-to-earth personality made the entire planning process so easy and fun. It was an absolute dream to have my reception here and I can't recommend it to others enough!
