I had several guests text me the following day asking about the cake. It was incredibly delicious!!! It felt like I was eating a piece of a cloud. Our top layer only partially made it to the freezer, we couldn't stop sneaking pieces! 11/10, would recommend!!

Haydel’s provided both our wedding cake and grooms cake. The whole process was easy and wonderful. We met with Cindy at the bakery where she was able to help us bring our vision to life. We did the original white almond cake with different fillings for each tier and the grooms cake was chocolate and red velvet. We got many compliments on how delicious both cakes were. The decorating was perfection as well. I highly recommend Haydel’s for your next cake!

Haydels provided the wedding cake and groom's cake for our May 2023 wedding. Both cakes tasted phenomenally! They were delivered timely and intact. I was not impressed with the cake testing process. We met with a representative at the bakery and talked size and pricing. We did not taste on site, that day. We were sent home with a plate of small pieces of cake to try and pick filling flavors. Communicating with the bakery was challenging, as well. When I would call, I'd be left on hold for a long time and sometimes not be answered at all. They were also slow to respond to emails. All and all, we were satisfied with the cakes not so much the before process.

Not only did our wedding cake look picture perfect, it was SO DELICIOUS. Haydel's really does everything right. Our wedding guests really enjoyed the cakes. (We also had a German chocolate groom's cake that made my husband and all the other chocolate lovers super happy. ) A special shout out to Lauren at Haydel's for being so knowledgeable, kind, and fun when helping us! Thank you, Haydel's. Perfection :)

I'm so appreciative of everything Haydel's did for us words can't express how thankful I am. I've heard so many of our family and friends say it was the best wedding cake they have ever had. Our groom's cake was a king cake and it was delicious too! The wedding was absolutely a dream come true and everything was beyond amazing. If you're looking for a bakery for your wedding, I would highly recommend Haydel's!

I’ve always known I wanted a wedding cake from Haydel’s. It was absolutely perfect! They did a wonderful job and they have the best almond cake!

We went to Haydels for our groom's cake. We decided on the carrot cake and it was delicious. However, we did have some issues leading up to the wedding day. First, they put down the wrong type of cake twice. Then they double charged my card and I had to call to correct this. Lastly, my cake order for my husband was rather simple, yet they still messed up some of the details. I would still recommend them, however, I would make sure to stay in constant contact with them and clarify all the details several times.

Our cake looked and tasted great. Easy to work with and reasonably priced. You can’t go wrong. We had the traditional almond cake with praline filling. Guests loved it!

I love Haydel’s king cakes, so we decided to look into their wedding cakes. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Every single person at Haydel’s was kind, professional, and eager to make our cakes as perfect as possible. We ordered both the traditional wedding cake and groom’s cake from Haydel’s, and both were spectacular. The traditional wedding cake had a praline pecan filling, and it was absolutely delicious. The groom’s cake had a pineapple filling, and it was also very delicious. The decorations on both cakes were perfect. For the groom’s cake, we provided the decorations, and they placed them on the cake. You don’t have to do this—there’s many designs and decor that they can make for you—but this was the best choice to create a backyard bird bonanza cake for our bird watcher groom. Bottom line: We love Haydel’s. 💜💚💛

We had a classic traditional tiered cake white icing with black detail! It was sooo fancy and omg EVERYONE said how the cake melted in your mouth. People contacted us after the wedding to comment on the cake soo yea they're good. Worked with them as a part of my venues contracted vendors (federal ballroom) Thanks so so much!

Haydel's Bakery is absolutely DELICIOUS!!! It is by far my favorite bakery in New Orleans. They did our Wedding Cake, Groom's Cake, and individually wrapped Hand Pies for our guests to take home as a treat! everything they provided was beautiful and tasty! All of our guests were raving at how much they loved our cakes and pies!!!

Haydel's made the most delicious wedding cake, and I am already looking forward to devouring our frozen top tier. We got an almond cake with pineapple filling and it was so good. The almond flavor was nice and subtle. We didn't get to try the chocolate and buttercream layer but heard it was great as well. We also enjoyed working with Emily at Haydel's. She was very responsive and helpful throughout the whole process, and made it easy!

Do NOT, do NOT, do NOT choose this vendor... Absolutely horrible experience with the cake. I spent weeks with about 80 emails passed back and forth with the coordinator at the Jefferson Hwy location and even went in for the meeting. I gave a VERY simple image of a wedding cake which I was charged $400 for... My fiance went to pick it up the day before...and it was NOTHING like the picture. It was hot pink and light blue like a gender reveal cake. When my family called about the frustration and I sent an email, they offered to have us bring it in to fix it the DAY of the wedding which has 50+ miles away. No offers of delivery assistance even if it was out of "the range" and all they gave was $90 off the original price. And to make matter worse, we tried to cut it in the back so people wouldn't see it. NO ONE would even eat the cake because they said it tasted like garlic....GARLIC when the flavors chosen were praline and Irish cream. Please do not chose this vendor when there are hundreds of talented cake bakers that would actually go the extra mile for a wedding day.

Haydel's Bakery was amazing! Emily was responsive, helpful, and professional. Having to coordinate and plan our wedding from out of town, Emily was extremely helpful in making sure all my wants were met regarding design, cake pulls, and cake taste. Haydel's was very reasonably priced and our cake looked beautiful the day of! Thank you, Haydel's for being a part of our big day!

Haydel's went above and beyond to make sure both our wedding cake and the groom's cake was perfect! Both cakes tasted delicious. The design of both cakes was exactly what we wanted! Haydel's answered all of our questions and made everything easy. We did not have to worry about a thing. We will continue to recommend Haydel's in the future to other couples and will continue to eat their other yummy desserts!

Haydel Bakery staff was really easy to work with. They were responsive with communication. Our wedding cake was delicious, moist, and beautiful. I will note one issue, I did request to have fleur de lis designs added to 2 layers of the cake and they did not remember to do this. BUT the cake was beautiful regardless of this oversight.

Haydel’s did a fantastic job with our wedding cake! We ate leftovers for a week and I'm already looking forward to next year when we get to break out our frozen top tier. Jeanine and the rest of the Haydel’s staff were incredibly professional, easy to work with, and adaptable when we had to postpone and then downsize our original wedding. Spectacular!!! From the planning, to phone calls, to finally getting to eat the cake, Haydels is THE BEST! Cindy was an absolute dream to work with and could not have made this covid bride feel more at ease. Our cake was absolutely stunning and we received so many complements on how great it was! People are still talking about my husbands three tiered King Cake! We also purchased the individually wrapped hand pies as welcome gifts, we have guests ordering them and getting shipped to Texas now! Haydels will always hold a special place in our heart!!

HAYDELS IS WONDERFUL. Our cakes were absolutely delicious. I honestly wish i was able to eat more of it. My husband got a cookie cake two tiered with all different types of cookies and he loved it. My cake was 5 tiers and was buttercream and was very moist and yummy. I would highly recommend working with Haydels for your wedding cake needs!

We purchased our wedding cake along with 200 cookies for our groom’s cookie bar for the wedding reception. Emily was very helpful describing all of our options during the cake tasting appointment. She was also very prompt with email correspondence about cake designs and possibilities. The cake was beautiful, delicious and the guests loved it. You could smell the cookie bar when you walked by, and it was destroyed before the reception even began! Thanks, Emily, for your help and correspondence during the wedding planning.

My husband and I really enjoyed our wedding cake. We drive from Virginia Beach to have our destination wedding in New Orleans. With the stress of wedding planning, and traveling the very last thing we needed was stress from vendors. The cake was very beautiful. It was exactly what we asked for, the price was reasonable compared to many others and the service was incredible. Dana handled all of our concerns genuinely and professionally. We got married during the hurricane Barry weather scare and they went above and beyond delivering the cake a day earlier to ensure it arrived at the location with no issues. Haydel’s was a dream to work with for our wedding. I am allergic to all nuts and got worried because, in New Orleans, it’s common to use almond paste for the cake, but Haydel’s immediately understood and said they could make the cake out of pound cake, which was delicious! In our first visit, Cindy brought out slices of the cake with different fillings to try for both of us and our moms and Cindy sat with us, explaining all of the different styles of cake. Cindy was so patient and charming and it was a pleasure to work with her. At the wedding, the cake looked beautiful and our guests enjoyed it. As a Brooklyn, New York-based LGBT couple planning a wedding in New Orleans, we needed vendors who were organized and responsive and also accepting and Haydel's delivered. We would highly recommend Haydel’s as they made the cake process easy and enjoyable. (Definitely get the pineapple filling – it was our favorite!)

While we didn't get to eat a lot of the cake, we heard both the bride's and groom's cake were both tasty. They both looked amazing and couldn't have come out closer to what we wanted. Dana was a great to work with and kept all of our ideas together to ensure the cakes would taste and look great!

Everything with Haydel's was super easy! The wedding cake was delicious and beautiful. The groom's cake was perfect as well.

We had a destination wedding and very limited time to do cake tastings while in New Orleans. Haydel's tasting was the best of the bunch. When the actual cake arrived, it was even better than expected! Guests RAVED about the cake (even people who don't like cake)! It was beautiful and perfect. Everyone there was completely professional and very responsive. I'd totally order from them again!

I was disappointed in this bakery as it has been a favorite of mine for king cakes for a long time. They have restrictions to their cakes on height and what filling you can use. Can’t use raspberry filling in a chocolate cake.... says who?? There are a fair amount of the bakeries in the city can create a tall four tiered cake in almost any combination. When I told them that I wasn’t going to use them anymore and was going to go in a different direction, no one contacted me to inquire as to why. To me, this said they didn’t really care about my business as we were about as far down the line of creating this cake as you can be without paying for it. The only pro is that their wedding cakes are affordable. If your cake budget is flexible, I’d recommend going elsewhere.

Haydel's did an amazing job with everything they provided. I ordered my wedding cake, groom's cake, some hand pies for favors, and also ended up adding some "referee" cookies at the last minute (my wedding was after we got robbed in the NFC championship WHO DAT!!!). Everything turned out beautifully and tasted even better! I wanted a very simple cake and we did a king cake for the groom's cake. Haydel's is just an amazing bakery, hands down. Didn't even have to think twice about it and I mean, who doesn't love a good king cake? We gave out hand pies as favors and they were a huge hit! Perfect end of the night snack. Great pricing, everything was delivered on time, great experience all around!

We got the tiered king cake for our groom's cake, and it was so delicious. Several people said it was one of the best, if not the best, king cakes they had tasted. Haydel's was also super easy to work with from initial consult to the ordering to the dropping off the cake topper to the delivery. We would highly recommend.

I can’t rave enough about how awesome it was to plan our cakes with Emily! My now-husband and I had two meetings with Emily because a certain someone couldn’t decide what to do for his groom’s cake the first time around. Emily never made us feel rushed, and she talked us through different sizes and design options so we were able to choose the right cakes for us. I’m so thrilled that she helped us come up with a pretty distinct custom groom’s cake - a three-tiered horror movie themed masterpiece that was perfect for my groom. Our wedding cake was beautiful in the more traditional way, and both cakes were delicious! And thank you, Haydel’s, for delivering to my venue!

I was a little disappointed in Haydels. They are always my go to for any party’s, birthdays, or just when u want something sweet so it was a no brainer when I got engaged that they would be the company to make my cake. We designed our wedding cake and it came out beautiful however it was incredibly dry. So dry that it tasted awful! Both my wedding cake and the grooms cake looked beautiful but it didn’t taste good. On the most important day of our life Haydels really dropped the ball.

When I first started planning my wedding the one think I knew was that I had to have a Haydel’s wedding cake! Our cake was everything I dreamed and more! We also got the Haydel’s hand pies as a favor for our guests. Everyone LOVED the hand pies! Everything from Haydel’s was beyond perfect!

If you don’t go to Haydel’s, you’re not getting the best quality cake. The flavors are amazing, the cake is baked the day of, they have the most delicious hand pies for favors, the cake is literally a piece of heaven, and I stopped by about six times just to get a petit four so I could eat the cake before the wedding. I worked with Dana before the wedding and she dealt with all of my last minute changes with grace and always responded in a timely fashion. I went to a bridal show before going with haydels and tasted what felt like 20 different cakes, and not a single other bakery held up to them. They had the freshest cake there. Other bakery’s may be better with the intricate designs but the sacrifice the quality of the cake completely. Haydels does not and you will get the best cake ever.

Haydel’s did an incredible job with our cake and the personalized petit fours we ordered! Kayleigh was amazing and super helpful throughout the planning, tasting, and ordering of the cakes! The only complaint was we should’ve ordered more petit fours!!!! They were gone within an hour! All night long all anybody could talk about was how they were the best petit fours they’d ever had! The cake was beautiful and of course absolutely delicious! Thanks so much for making our day special!

Haydel's was so great to work with. We actually did a New Orleans themed wedding, but in Michigan. Instead of traditional wedding cake, we did King Cake. Haydel's made sure that all 8 of our cakes were shipped promptly and made it to our venue the day before. Everyone loved the idea and the cakes were delicious! I would definitely recommend Haydel's. Very friendly staff and very responsive and organized.

They were amazing! I sent Kayleigh a picture of how I wanted my cake and she made it happen. She was also very helpful with picking out the toppings. The cake was delicious!

We ordered a round, triple-layer, butter-cream cake with white icing, which was more than enough to serve the 125 guests at our wedding. We opted to keep the cake with minimal design and instead worked with our florist to include some live flowers on the cake. Those who ate cake raved about it, saying it was one of the best wedding cakes they’ve tasted. The staff at Haydel’s was friendly and helpful throughout the entire experience, from tasting and ordering to getting the cake delivered and returning a cake stand. We would absolutely, whole-heartedly recommend Haydel’s to any couples looking for a wedding cake. Kayliegh, the staff member with whom we worked, let us ship a set of cake pull charms to the bakery so they could be cooked into the cake and ready for the celebration. We really appreciated her guidance and help.

Haydel’s did my brides cake and the grooms cake. Everyone said how good the cake tasted and they both looked beautiful. Haydel delivered the cakes to the reception hall for us and they looked absolutely amazing. I hadn’t seen them as my Aunt picked them out, but it was a pleasant surprise.

Kayleigh at Haydel's Bakery was amazing. I'm an out-of-state bride and she was able to listen to my vision of our wedding cake and make it come to life. I wasn't able to come in town for any tastings or really see anything in person, but Kayleigh was able to mail me their wedding cake samples to taste test and they were all amazing. The praline, lemon and amaretto were my favorite and I had many guests throughout the night tell me how much they loved the cake. Haydel's also handled our cake topper and cake pulls amazingly. It truly looked beautiful.

Growing up my family always had Swiss Confectionary cakes for every single birthday and celebratory event, but after leaving a tasting at Swiss Confectionary and feeling very disappointed, I scheduled an appointment with Haydel’s. Shame on me for even going to Swiss in the first place, because Emily with Haydel’s blew my mom and my future MIL out of our seats. Not only did she bring out a full tray of samples, but she knew my venue’s policy right off the bat and went above and beyond to help us! My wedding cake was just like I envisioned and I recommend Haydel’s 1000%!

Our wedding cake from Haydel's was PERFECT! It tasted delicious (the best I have ever had) and the design was flawless. I had found a cake on Pinterest that I loved, and the replicated it to the tee. I planned our wedding from Chicago, and working with Haydel's team during the planning process was so easy! I can not imagine using any other bakery. They are the best of the best!!

Haydel's truly lived up to their reputation! They were wonderful in assisting me with choosing a cake for my destination wedding! We were even able to have cupcake samples sent to us through the mail in order to try out the different fillings! My guests absolutely adored our cake! Not only was it delicious, it was absolutely STUNNING. the employees were so knowledge and really helped during the initial process of picking out your cakes. Haydel’s Bakery made two cakes for our wedding at Hotel Mazarin, one chocolate and one carrot cake – both were amazing! Very helpful and respond promptly to emails.

Our cakes were absolutely amazing! We received so many compliments on the flavors and taste of the cake. We were able to select 5 fillings. I wanted different designs on my cake I saw from different pictures and they made my dream come to life. My husband loved his grooms cake and it was perfect. They were both absolutely amazing! Our consult with Haydel's was great. Very easy to work with. It was hard to choose our fillings for each layer because every single filling was beyond delicious. Our cake looked exactly how we wanted it to, it was fresh, and it tasted even better than we could have imagined. Hands down best wedding cake I've ever tasted in the NOLA area (the freshness of their cakes is seriously key!).

Outstanding beauty and flavor.

From start to finish, everyone at Haydel’s had the friendliest attitudes. Our consultant helped us design our cake, incorporating ideas from our invitation and patiently waiting for me to sift through tons of colors for the perfect shade of pink. The cake flavors were amazing, and the final product was absolutely beautiful.

Extremely disappointed with both my wedding cake and groom's cake. The cakes tasted great but they did not do the design that we had discussed at our appointment. all the piping on the cake was supposed to be in navy and it was supposed to have butter cream flowers as well. The cake I received was white with white piping on two of the layers, no flowers or anything. Lucky my florist included extra flowers so someone stuck them on right before the ceremony. The groom's cake was also not decorated as discussed. I had to take off work to meet with them and I feel like that was a waste of time since I did not get what we discussed at our meeting. I loved Haydels up until they did my wedding.

Haydel's has been #1 for wedding cakes for decades and they certainly delivered for us. The cake was absolutely perfect and decorations as well. Especially impressive since it was included with the price of the Maison Dupuy Hotel we booked as our venue, plus the groom's cake too. I'm not a fan of their pastries, but for wedding cakes Haydel's is still #1.

The best tasting cake. I have had cakes from Haydels before, and every time they were great. You will NOT find a better bakery for your wedding. My cake was a complex three tier with designs over it. They decorated it to a tee.

The most unprofessional and rude service ever!!! I was so disappointed!!!! The cake tasted wonderful and I would have gotten my cake with them, however because of the rude service I will not be buying my cake from them. The lady acted as though they didn't need my business because they were already busy enough. Worst experience I've had during all of my wedding planning!

FIVE STARS for my wedding cakes! I had two ... a regular cake and a grooms cake for my husband. The regular cake was almond, chocolate and red velvet with buttercream frosting. My guests RAVED about how good it was! I had a few bites, but as many brides know ... who gets a chance to savor things at their own wedding! There was little left over, especially the red velvet part. Note to brides: get a bottom layer of red velvet. It was by far the fan favorite but it was our top tier so not many people got any! Those who did loved it! The cake decorations I provided looked so great on their work! My wedding was a destination wedding, so I never got to taste the cake or visit their bakery beforehand, but I had enough trust in their reputation that I would be well taken care of and I was! They were easy to work with by email and phone. Thanks Haydel for making my wedding cakes so great!!! I wish I could attach photos!

As soon as I started planning for my wedding, I knew I had to have a Haydel's Bakery wedding cake! I've always been a fan of Haydel's cakes. They did a great initial consultation with me and my MOH. They brought out various wedding cake slices with different filings to try and choose from. They also helped me pick what flavor and filling for the grooms cake at the same visit and even brought out a cupcake with the filling for his cake. Both cakes turned out exactly how I wanted and everyone loved the taste of both. I highly recommend them to anyone having a New Orleans wedding!

Delicious cake. Great price. Easy to work with. What more could you ask for? From start to finish, Haydel's made choosing our cake easy. We worked with one contact, Margot, throughout the process, and she was awesome! She was really knowledgeable and talked us through all of our different options for design and fillings. We also love that Haydel's is an old-school New Orleans bakery, that meant a lot to me as a New Orleans resident (and to my husband as a New Orleans native!).
