About this vendor
The Mammoth Museum at the Hayden Cabin is run by the Southern Mono Historical Society which is a not-for-profit organization. We rely on funding from the Town of Mammoth Lakes and Mono County plus donations and memberships. The museum is only open from Memorial Day weekend through the end of September and closed in winter. There are many interesting historical exhibits which teach visitors about Mammoth Lakes' history. Two society-sponsored events take place in June and August and the cabin and grounds are available for rent for weddings, receptions, reunions, parties and gatherings.

This is not a real wedding venue. The team at Hayden Cabin was extremely difficult to work with and they lack basic communication skills. The venue comes with almost nothing. You w...
ill be left with a mountain of work to do or an extremely high price tag to hire their "approved" event planner. In our case, we had to deal with both due to last minute permits and site changes by the forest service. Many of these issues could have been avoided if the team communicated to us on time. They left us, along with several other couples, in the dark.
The site itself is beautiful, but beware of the people that run this place. It seems like they put all of their other events first and let the weddings slide by with little to no attention. If the team at Hayden Cabin were professional, I'd recommend this place to everyone. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Thank goodness all of our vendors were amazing. Without them, our wedding would have been a disaster.
