Located in Toledo, OH, Heather Downs Country Club Events is an exquisite wedding venue. Initially built in 1925, this stately historic property was originally popular as a horse racing track. The gorgeous and spacious Clubhouse stands where the old track once was. Set in 144 acres of green and lush South Toledo landscape, this locale is sure to be an incredible setting for your dream wedding.
The Clubhouse of Heather Downs Country Club Events stretches out across more than 30,000 square feet. These premises can comfortably host events for several hundred guests, with options for intimate gatherings and gala extravaganzas. The ceremony space was established for spring 2015 and can have up to 300 chairs for guests seated as witnesses. You can enjoy your ceremony and reception in one place. The stunning Grand Ballroom features sweeping views of the pristine and manicured golf course, a wonderful backdrop for wedding memories and photographs alike. The Clubhouse also has an intimate private dining room - the Millie Benson Room - for showers of under 50 guests in size. The premises also feature a member's grill and a downstairs restaurant for golfers.

These experienced professionals and your event coordinator will advise you on how to get the best possible wedding for any budget. Our in-house chef will craft a menu to thrill you and your guests. the beautiful main building with the bridal and groom suites, best view, and spacious ballroom/dancefloor, everything provided the perfect setting for our day. It was absolutely beautiful and everything I had envisioned for our wedding.
Amanda Myers, the event coordinator, was AMAZING from beginning to end. She truly went above and beyond to help bring my dream wedding vision to life. She was attentive, helpful, organized, accommodating, and genuinely cared about making our day everything we wanted it to be. So many of the little details that made our wedding special came together because of Amanda, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about her! She is the heart of that place!
The food was absolutely incredible! Our guests raved about it, and we heard so many compliments throughout the night. The Head Chef Krystal, and Sous Chef Andrew are extremely talented, and everything was delicious and beautifully prepared. Wedding food can sometimes be an afterthought at venues, but that was definitely not the case at Heather Downs. The meal was one of the highlights of the entire reception!
The cocktails were also absolutely amazing, thanks to the talented bartender Sarah! She crafted the most delicious drinks and was so friendly and attentive throughout the evening. Her cocktails were a wonderful addition to our celebration and another detail that made the night feel so special.
The entire event side staff was also wonderful—attentive, courteous, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout the evening. The Bar manager, Jordan, was fantastic! He was friendly, helpful, efficient, and went above and beyond to help make our day perfect while making sure everything ran smoothly and our guests were well taken care of.
Our wedding was everything we hoped it would be and more. The beautiful grounds, the venue, the ballroom, the incredible food, the amazing cocktails, and especially the people who worked so hard to make our day special all came together perfectly.
We will forever be grateful to Amanda, Krystal, Andrew, Sarah, Jordan, and the entire Heather Downs Event staff for helping give us such an amazing wedding day. As long as these wonderful people are there, you will never regret choosing Heather Downs Country Club for your wedding or special event. I cannot recommend them highly enough! ❤️

Our wedding coordinator, Amanda, was truly incredible — organized, caring and always one step ahead. She made the planning process so much easier and ensured that everything ran smoothly on the day. It allowed us to relax and really take in every special moment. Even got my kitty Poe in the wedding decor!
The venue staff were exceptional — warm, professional, and attentive to our guests’ every need. So many of our friends and family commented on how friendly and efficient the team was throughout the evening.
And we have to give a huge thank-you to Head chef Krystal and Sous Chef Andrew. The food was absolutely phenomenal — beautifully presented, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. We are still getting compliments about the meal!
In addition all dietary accommodations were accounted for and everyone had a special meal to eat at dinner. I can’t thank them enough for the time and effort they put into making sure everyone’s belly’s were full of food safe for them.
