About this vendor
Located in Manhasset on the North Shore of Long Island, I offer a warm and collaborative experience with unique dresses that are all designed, cut, and completely sewn in my NY studio. Each piece is expertly engineered and sewn with great care and professional skill to create your dream dress.
Trained in NYC's Garment Center for over 25 years, I have learned my craft from master fashion professionals. Years of pattern making, custom dressmaking, and industry sewing and cutting on 7th Avenue have given me the knowledge and expertise to create your dress beautifully.
My shop offers custom made wedding dresses in all sizes with beautiful details and silhouettes. Gorgeous silks and laces are sourced from New York's very own Garment District and also vintage and rare textiles can be incorporated to create one of a kind pieces. Many designs in the shop are inspired by versions of dresses from the past that have been modified for updated fit and a more modern silhouette.
All dresses are made in my Manhasset, New York studio. Your dress will be one of a kind-- made to your exact measurements with your choice of fabrics, embellishments, and details. In the initial meeting we go over your ideas, take measurements, and sketch. Fabric choices are discussed. Many can be ordered and delivered, or if specialty fabrics or laces are needed-we meet in the city to shop. Your first fitting will be a muslin or mock up of your design. Changes are made directly on the muslin---style lines moved, necklines lowered or raised, double checking overall fit, etc. From there, your dress will be cut in actual fabric and lace. Most dresses will take four fittings to complete and are delivered one month before your wedding date. Rush orders are always possible.
For inquiries on having your dress custom made, please contact the shop for an appointment.

A master custom dress maker with a refined aesthetic and a warm and generous personality! I had a custom dress made by Heather that was so sophisticated and also very comfortable....
She recently altered a Chanel dress for a recent black tie event and it was perfect. Highly recommend.

I had Heather do alterations on my wedding dress and had a great time working with her! She works out of her home and her studio is very welcoming as a result. I didn't have too ...
much to do to the dress--I needed it taking in at the sides on top and also a bustle. I only had to come in twice because she did the fitting perfectly between visits. She was very professional and her prices are super reasonable. My husband's aunt also got her dress altered with Heather for the wedding, and it turned out lovely. During the reception, the bustle came undone a couple of times, but I think the fault is more on me for constantly sitting and standing! In retrospect I probably would have asked for a stronger bustle; other than that I am completely satisfied and would recommend Heather!
Heather has been so amazing and helpful throughout this experience. I felt comfortable explaining to her what I wanted and she worked with me. The dress was done so fast and looks ...
beautiful. Can’t wait to wear it. Thank you Heather!!
From my initial contact with Heather via text message to the final fitting and picking up my dress, everything could not have been better. She was able to bring to life a long-held...
Pinterest dream of mine, and did it long distance. I visited her studio just once for three condensed fittings and Heather did not skip a beat - her work is gorgeous and her positive attitude and flexibility were unparalleled. Her creative eye and ability to help me visualize the many options for my custom gown (especially bustle!) were not unnoticed. I would strongly recommend Heather to anyone looking for wedding dress needs - near or far!
Heather was absolutely incredible and so professional. She worked on fitting me into my complex and very beaded Anna Campbell dress. My dress fit perfectly on my wedding day! Heat...
her was unbelievably sweet and accommodating at all times and did an amazing job! Will recommend to every bride I know!
Watching Heather create my daughters wedding gown was an incredible experience!
Heather met us in the garment district of the city where she led us to acclaimed but tucked away fa...
bric salons. I was fascinated as I watched her layer different shades and sheens of yellow silk swatches until she hit on just the perfect combination for the ‘marigold yellow’ that my daughter had envisioned. Then on to Mood Fabrics (fun!) where she, impressively, located the perfect fabric embellishments for the skirt. From the first presentation of the muslin, to the fittings and the finished gown working with Heather was personable, professional and fun! She is very gifted in her craft. The dress was beautiful, expertly fitted and of impeccable quality. The whole process added a layer or richness to an already memorable wedding. In retrospect I wish that I would have had the foresight to have her make mine too!
Heather is wonderful! I bought my dress from an atelier in NYC and they did not provide alterations. I had a difficult time finding someone qualified and willing to alter a wedding...
dress that was not purchased with them. Thankfully I found Heather! Her schedule was flexible and she was very professional. I tried on my dress and she pinned it and explained what she thought needed to be done. The alterations were done very quickly and beautifully! My dress fits perfectly and I can’t wait to wear it!
I’ve worked with Heather on two occasions: the first one was for my bridal veil. I described to Heather what I wanted, and she made it exactly to my vision. The edges are hand rol...
led and sewn...impeccable workmanship. The piece that fastens to my hair is elegant and simple, just what I wanted. The second project was a mini bridal gown, a miniature replica of my actual wedding gown. It’s exact, right down to the itty bitty covered buttons. I cried when I opened it, it’s a memento I’ll treasure forever. Heather is very pleasant and easy to work with, I can’t recommend her highly enough.
Heather is an extremely talented couture dressmaker. She is an experienced pattern maker with the skills and expertise to create the design of your dreams. The LBD she made for me ...
from a photo that I shared with her was exquisite and exactly what I wanted.
I've had the pleasure of working with Heather for several years now. She is both a great pattern maker and an amazing dressmaker, a rare combination, and she has created many wonde...
rful dresses for me! Over time, I have tried different ideas and designs, using a variety of fabrics (silk, cotton, poly, sequin, rayon, etc.) and Heather has been able to execute each idea perfectly. Every garment Heather makes is not only beautiful, but is of extremely high quality, with every seam flawless. She has an excellent sense of aesthetics, and is able to transform every idea I have into a gorgeous finished product. Heather is also a genuinely nice person, very responsive to emails, and is a pleasure to work with in all respects. I feel lucky to be working with her!
Heather was wonderful to work with. She created a perfect dress for me for my nephew’s wedding. She accompanied me to pick out fabric and was so great during the fitting process - ...
patient and had great suggestions! My finished dress fit perfectly and was the essence of the Chanel couture dress in the photo I had shown Heather! Loved it and working with Heather. Highly recommend her.
Oh my goodness! Where to begin. Working with Heather was so fun and easy. She made my dream dress a reality with only two visits from me, as I was coming from Michigan to NY. We we...
nt together to pick out the fabric, and on my first visit she had a muslin mock up of what I had described to her via text/phone/email. From there is was easy to work toward the end goal. I have been married for over a year and people STILL will tell me how much they loved my dress. I highly recommend working with Heather if you are wanting to make your special day even more meaningful and lovely.
