But Heather was composed as ever and saved the day by suggesting an alternative indoor photo spot, which was beautiful, as well as staging some amazing rain shots. Her work is absolutely stunning and she is a true professional. I cannot recommend Heather highly enough, am I'm not surprised she books out so long in advance. We think of her as part of the family now!

n. I was newly engaged, and at this point, I started paying close attention to details in the weddings I was in and/or attending as I started making decisions for my own wedding. I watched her as she guided everyone through all the photos, knew exactly how we should stand and look, and did it all within an efficient amount of time. This was something I was certainly not used to with a wedding photographer. During my sisters wedding, we spent about an hour and a half, maybe more, after the wedding taking photos, missing the entire cocktail hour which was crazy to me. Heather being quick, but knowledgeable is what drew me to her the first time. Then, the pictures came back. Words can't describe how great of a photographer she is. I spent the morning of this day crying, as my fiance left for a 7 month deployment. My emotions were everywhere, sad, scared, but also happy and filled with love watching a best friend say I do. Heather made sure to capture some of those emotions, as she took a picture of me pretending to hold my fiance at the wedding and personally emailing it to me later in the week. That is when I reached out to her and knew I needed this amazing person, professionally and personally, to be our photographer. A few months later, Heather and I reconnected during another best friends wedding that I was in. This wedding was during the 7 month deployment, and she again, captured a picture of me pretending to hold Chris and sent it to me individually. She cares, she truly cares about her clients and you don't get that enough. When my fiance finally returned, we both met up with Heather for engagement photos and had such a blast. I never know what poses I want to do, or where I want pictures so I let heather take the lead and I cant fathom enough how she KNOWS WHAT SHE IS DOING. I did the same thing for our wedding, I let her take the ropes and really help me make the big decisions of timeline, what pictures to take, and organizing the day. Our wedding was December 22, 2018, right before Christmas. Here's the best part about Heather; I asked her if she could send me just one photo for me to print off to give to my 99 year old Grandfather who unfortunately could not attend the wedding, and guess what she does? Rather than sending me one photo, she sends me about 40 of her favorite photos of the day ON CHRISTMAS EVE!!!!!! She is so dedicated to her clients, she is so positive, reassuring, and is such a beautiful person inside and out. I can only imagine her business is going to continue to boom because of how she is as an individual and as a professional. Now is the time to book Heather, on her way up in the photography world! I intend to stay in touch with her so she can continue to capture my life's most precious moments. Thank you for everything you have done for us and continue to do for us Heather!

From day one, Heather made me feel confident that I made the right decision to work with her. Throughout the wedding planning process, she would make me feel relaxed (even when a hurricane was coming straight for us). Heather is truly one of a kind. After the wedding, I have several guests, my bridal party, and family members comment on how lovely Heather was and how they enjoyed having her part of the day. ate absolutely timeless photos. One of our close friends used her for their wedding and when we saw the photos we knew we had to have her for ours. Heather is so sweet and fun and made us feel absolutely comfortable for two people who aren't exactly used to standing around cheesing for the camera during our engagement photo session. We now have the most amazing photos of us around downtown DC that we will treasure forever. She goes above and beyond as a photographer. Her bubbly, friendly personality makes the whole experience fun and you feel like she's just part of your family during the whole event. Whether it's an engagement session or wedding day photographer I trusted that we would have beautiful pictures at the end, and she didn't disappoint. We even had a few special requests for photos, which required a little extra work on her part (i.e. running to the balcony of the church for the perfect shot) and she made it happen. She made sure to get all the shots we asked for and more. Near the end of the night at our reception, after she was off the clock and packing to leave she even stayed late to capture a ritual among our friends because she knew how much it would mean to us when we saw those photos. It was absolutely perfect! We cannot say enough good things about Heather Ryan and her photography! She's reasonably priced and an absolute gem. We plan on using her for all our future professional photography needs (family photos in the future!) and would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who wants fabulous photos to remember their day. When booking a photographer, I emailed back and forth with a number of photographers and met with a few in person. As soon as we met with Heather, the search was done. A tid bit of advice - Get the Engagement Photos! We originally didn't think we needed any - But I'm so thankful we got them with our package. We got to know Heather and kind of prepare for how to pose, and what it's like to be in front of the camera before the Big Day. I loved our photos, and we had fun that day! I ended up using the photos to make a guest book. On the actual wedding day, I couldn't have asked for a better photographer. I was so nervous before the wedding (along with my entire family and bridal party), but Heather was calm and friendly the whole time. She helped to keep everything on track. I made a list of photos I wanted for Heather (her idea), and no matter how crazy or hectic parts of the day got, she managed to get every single photo I wanted (and more). I'd recommend her to anyone!!!
