want the best – go to Helen Bernhard! Our wedding cake was phenomenal, it was so perfectly matched to our wedding theme! Helen Bernhard Bakery even had sparkles for “snow” on our cake. Our flavors were red velvet and lady Baltimore, it was an absolute hit with our guests. There wasn’t a single piece of cake left to take home! They use quality ingredients, and I have always appreciated that they’ll use “dirty” things like sugar and gluten. The artistry in the decoration is worthy of museums! Really, you cannot find any better than Helen Bernhard Bakery.

We got to choose from all their cake flavors, fillings, and frostings while sipping on free coffee and perusing their album of cakes. Once we chose our flavors, we coordinated with the decorator to choose just the right look. They even delivered to downtown Vancouver Washington for free on a Friday evening! They had the cake set up before our people even arrived on site. We had less people show up to our reception than expected but barley had any cake left! So many people asked who did the cake because it was the best they'd ever had!

I understand that there is plenty of foot-traffic going through this establishment on the daily basis, which is great for your business, but at least hire staff members who can keep a positive, can-do attitude during those overwhelming & busy times instead of ones who interrupts customers & treating us like a number. I don't complain much, let alone go out of my way to write reviews, but seriously...do they even LISTEN to what we have to say or are they just on auto-pilot? I have experienced this during our appointment for cake tasting as well as over the phone to verify the style of the cake we wanted & was treated the same both times. I rarely was able to finish a sentence, & when I did, all I received was confusion, a (metaphorically) scripted response, & validated that what I had written in my email w/ a picture of the style of cake I wanted wasn't even read. My fiancee & I will still be ordering our wedding cake through HBB because we were genuinely pleased w/ how the cake tasted, & by the looks of their samples in the store & in their portfolio that the cake designer is undoubtedly very talented. As far as the process of future interactions as needed, I'm just going to have to shrug off any expectation that I would be treated like this is a special, personal experience.

eir price was pretty standard and our cake was really beautiful. We had given them a piece of ribbon for the color, and they matched it perfectly. They were also apparently really reliable with delivery since the cake just sort of appeared on the wedding day with no thought or worry on my part!

rfect and the dotted pattern we requested made the cake look modern and fancy. The cakes were also quite delicious and three tiers (6"/9"/12") served 100 people with ease. This is probably because they make a free/fresh anniversary cake when you come back next year, so you don't have to save the top tier! I loved working with Helen Bernhard, and on top of everything they were the most reasonably priced bakery we found.

but I went in the day before, the girl behind the counter was super helpful, and the cake came out absolutely to perfection! And the price was right, for sure.

The cake was beautifully decorated, it was moist, and it was all around delicious. And get this, you get a free cake that matches the top cake tier on your 1-year anniversary. It was an amazing deal, and we were so happy that we ended up going with them.

Honestly, we didn't really get any wedding cake the day of (but remembered the tastings and have had other baked goods) but everyone has mentioned how delicious and beautiful it was (it was beautiful). They aren't a fancy decor place - they only use butter cream and such but in my opinion the most important thing is the taste not the look (and by fancy decor I mean they don't do the fondant and food network type cakes). You won't be disappointed. They are wonderful and delicious and lovely looking cakes. We thought we would have cake left over (we ordered for 150 and had a little over 100) and didn't have anything but 4 pieces left! I would totally recommend them for all occasions!

Also, the bakery will bake you a new top tier for your 1 year anniversary so that you don't have to worry about freezing it and then eating year-old cake, and that only costs about $10. The staff are friendly and kind and the cake is delicious! At least go taste-testing at Helen Bernhard. They don't disappoint.

I found a picture of what I wanted the cake to look like online that I brought to them and they replicated it perfectly. Very easy to work with as well!

ke tasting was perfect for us because by the time we got there we had already tried so many cakes that we were beginning to get sick of all the cake, and rather than bring us a huge platter to try we told them the flavors and frosting we were interested in and they brought us a sampling of those which for us was perfect. We went with a light blue cake and piped on snowflakes and it was perfect and just what we had wanted. We got a chocolate cake with mint creme filling, pink champagne with strawberry creme filling, and red velvet with cream cheese filling the cake was moist and delicious and all of our guests loved it!! We also added an order of dinner rolls which they delivered with the cake and they were fresh and yummy!

right on time and the taste and the cake tasted really good, although it was a bit dry. The price was way better than other places I looked. I'll definitely buy from them again!

easy to wrk with, they give you your wedding top cake layer free on your first anniversary and the prices were the best in town. I will definitly continue to come to this bakery for all of my baking and cake needs! I have already sent happy customers there! :)

way. But it is OK, they give you another small version on your 1st anniversary. The cake was beautiful, exactly what was promised at the consultation. There was a little concern that the red that was on the page would not be the same red on the cake, but it was a perfect match. They even had someone come drop it off for us when they technically weren't delivering that far out on the weekend of our wedding. Very impressed, as were our guests.
