Hemingbough

The grounds are absolutely gorgeous, and will leave your guests talking about it for weeks. An unforgettable evening that I will always cherish. The grounds were very clean and well kept up. I've been getting so many compliments on the food as well. I will say, however, that I was promised some things that I did not get that made the day of my wedding a bit chaotic and stressful. In hindsight I should have hired an actual coordinator. I did not get parking attendants, because the ceremony was "too small and didn't really need it" a few hours before the ceremony. I was also promised to-go plates for my husband and I, we did not get them and didn't get to try almost any of the food. I went ask for them at the end of the night and was given what was left over, which was a gallon ziplock of the pasta, and a gallon ziplock of watermelon. I was also supposed to have someone there all day to help with coordination. The very nice woman I was in contact with was recovering from a surgery and promised that if she could not be there, her assistant would be. She was there in the early afternoon but not for any of the events and her assistance was not there. Every time I needed something I had to ask the chef, who was absolutely amazing and helped so much as well as cooking all of the food and cleaning guest rooms the next day. Long story short, definitely get married here and definitely hire your own coordinator.

So I went to tour Hemingbough for my wedding for 2017. They told me my date was available, gave me prices and the tour and I was hooked. They then told me that they would put me on a "waitlist" because they were not booking for 2017. After weeks of calling and inquiring about booking and getting the runaround. We now have found out that the owner is doing some sort of separate business deal and if the deal passes then he will not be doing weddings for 2017. So this is just a warning to any brides out there looking to get married 2017, Hemingbough is not booking for it. I don't want anyone else to go through that stress and disappointment like I did. :(

The staff is absolutely amazing! They really know how to roll with the punches and keep a smile!
