Henrekin Pines, Country Chic Event Venue

We had our wedding at Henrkin Pines. Since hearing all of the comments from guests, and the bridal party, we wanted to share our experience. Overall, we were not pleased with the professionalism. The location: It is a beautiful property. The building and land surrounding has been taken care of and they have put a lot of thought into the presentation, and finer details. The pictures turned out amazing and we received many compliments on the look of the venue. The owner, Jim: We had a guest that was looking at the table with pictures and a card box. Jim walked up to her and said ‘You put the card in the top, that’s it’, as if to tell her to drop the card and keep moving. It was not his place at all to address our guests, especially in such a rude manner. She said she felt uncomfortable. We had a situation where our groomsmen had been drinking from a cooler in the parking lot, close to when the bar was going to open. For insurance purposes, we all knew once the bar was set up, we could not consume outside alcohol on the property. This was a discussion we had with the bar owner prior to the wedding. We had relayed this message to the entire wedding party the night before. When the groomsmen were drinking in the parking lot, they were unaware of the time, and that the bar was getting ready to set up. Jim or Shannon (the event coordinator) saw them, and mentioned to them to stop drinking, and asked them to put the cooler away. Our groomsmen had told us they did so. That should have been the end of it. Jim came to us, WHILE WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR FIRST LOOK PHOTOS, and interrupted the photographers, to address the issue again. We were stunned he chose then to talk to us, and frankly very angry with him for ruining that moment for us. After this he waited until the wedding party was together for photos (after the ceremony) and addressed us all as a group and threaten to ‘shut the wedding down’. He scolded us like children. At this point the alcohol had been locked up for over 30 minutes. It was unnecessary. We have tried very hard to understand his side of things. We still do not believe it was handled properly. We had coordinators there, per Shannon’s request, to handle situations like that. Shannon was aware of who our coordinators were prior to the day beginning. Finally, after all of these events took place, and the wedding was quieting down, my husband went to use the restroom. He came out to the bar area to hear Jim, and Shannon talking about us and our bridal party. My husband said he stood behind the wall to listen for a while. My husband walked up to the bar and he said they put on fake smiles, stopped talking, and said they hoped he was having a good time. All while eating the food, and drinking the alcohol we provided. Beware of the stories they may tell about you afterwards, or even during your wedding.

The owner watched our every move and was very rude. He made the bride and grooms special day, stressful!

Henrekin Pines was a wonderful location for our wedding! We got lots of compliments on the location. They had a lot of decorations to choose from so we didn't have to bring all our own. We also got the place from Friday to Sunday, so we didn't have to rush set up/tear down. They were very reasonably priced too! Shannon was wonderful to work with, and Jim the owner took us in the jeep to some great picture locations. Definitely recommend them!

Perfect all in one place for the ceremony and reception! They have beautiful locations for either an indoor or outdoor ceremony. Shannon, Sandy and Jim were excellent to work with. They were extremely helpful and accommodating. We could not have asked for a better location for our wedding. Absolutely perfect!!
