Henry Connor Bost House and Farm

My husband and I could not have found a more beautiful venue, run by nicer people. The Henry Connor Bost House and Farm is the epitome of Southern Charm, and Laurie Barwick, the event/site coordinator, exudes class and professionalism. I recommend this venue for anyone looking for a place that can comfortably accommodate both the ceremony and reception. There are multiple ceremony sites to choose from, walking the grounds is easy, and on-site parking is available. There is a separate house for the groom/groomsmen to use (if needed) and there is also plenty of space at the big house for family to stay overnight. Since ours was a destination wedding, having everything we needed in one location was an added bonus. Also, this venue is so beautiful, we hardly needed to decorate. There is a barn on-site, huge oak trees, and wide open fields offering multiple different setting for some truly spectacular photos. Laurie was very communicative, responsive, and organized. She gave outstanding recommendations for vendors (in fact, we chose our vendors largely based on her recommendation), and my husband, family, and I were extremely pleased. Laurie is flexible, accommodating, hands-on, trustworthy, and detail-oriented; she was truly a pleasure to work with. Thank you, to Laurie and her staff, for helping us plan (and execute) such a special, beautiful day.

I would highly recommend this venue. The property and house are gorgeous! Laurie is very attentive in every part of planning. She was very responsive and accommodating. I loved spending the night before my wedding in the house with all my bridesmaids, it made for a very relaxing day! The vendors that Laurie suggested were absolutely fabulous! All of my guests loved the property and couldn’t stop talking about the hidden gem that it is in Salisbury.

I would recommend this venue to anyone that is wanting a laid-back, classic style wedding. The property and Laurie helped the day to feel so relaxing so I actually got to enjoy the day. The main house and the cottage provide a cozy place for any guests to stay and enjoy the festivities.

Wow, what a terrific experience!! We loved this venue so much and Laurie, and her team, were so wonderful and accommodating!! I would recommend this venue to EVERYONE!!! All of my guest were amazed!!

First off I would like to say that Henry Connor Bost House and Farm is an incredible venue. I booked it while half way across the world, without setting foot on the property and I am so glad I did. We moved our wedding from NYC to NC in April and we were looking for a an outdoor venue in October. I reached out to Laurie and she took the time to video chat with me and take me on a tour around the property. I was skeptical to book the venue because while it is an old estate, it was a relatively new wedding venue that had hosted a couple of weddings at that point but I am glad I did. Laurie and her team were spectacular the week leading up to the wedding. Laurie helped with the set up 3 days before the wedding and took a personal interest in making sure it all went well. They only have one wedding a weekend which means the couple getting married gets all their attention. On the day of the wedding Laurie wasn’t there but Debbie was and she helped my wedding party set up. She basically made sure it all went smoothly for us. Laurie introduced us to the venders we used and they were great! Overall, It was a great experience working with them. However, the reason I gave this venue 4 stars and not 5 is because of a couple of reasons. First, the standard package that is offered to the couples has 5 tables and 100 chairs. The chairs are cheap looking and not really wedding chairs. If a couple doesn’t like them they can upgrade and pay extra for the basic wooden wedding chairs. I am a hands on person, so I planned my wedding myself and spoke directly to the rental company Laurie works with to see what my options are. The prices they were giving me were slightly cheaper than what Laurie was telling me but since I signed the contract with her, I paid her prices, which isn’t that big of a deal but I would have appreciated more transparency on the venues end. Second, the day of the wedding we had a wasp problem. Wasps kept getting into the room where my bridesmaids and I were getting ready and one of my bridesmaids was even stung. The caterer also complained to me about this because her chef is allergic to wasps and had a hard time doing his job. Needless to say, If you are looking for am outdoor venue that will leave an impression on your guests, Henry Connor Bost House and Farm is for you.

My husband and I hosted our daughter's wedding and reception at the Henry Connor Bost House in Nov, 2017. On our first visit to the venue, we were impressed with all the property had to offer. We especially were pleased that this venue only schedules one wedding per weekend. In fact, we rented the two homes on the property as well, so that the wedding party could spend the entire weekend together. The historic home is lovely and the surrounding property with beautiful, mature trees is beautiful, allowing couples to choose just the right spot for their wedding and their reception. Laurie helped us make my daughter and her now husband's dreams a reality. She kept everyone on track throughout the planning process and she and her staff were all there throughout the wedding and the reception to make sure all of our needs were met. They helped with the incoming vendors and guests as they arrived. The day was chilly with, at times, a slight mist in the air, however, the weather conditions did not negatively impact the beauty, the fun, and the joy of the perfect wedding day. As a precaution, at Laurie's suggestion, we had added a heater in the tent. The wedding party and our guests were comfortable and the tent was warm throughout the entire evening. In my opinion, the Henry Connor Bost House is a great venue for anyone planning a country, vintage, or bohemian themed outdoor wedding. My daughter and her husband had the PERFECT wedding day (and weekend)! My Husband and I got married at the Henry Connor Bost House and Farm in October. We truly felt like we found a hidden gem! Not only did we have the ceremony at the farm, we had our rehearsal dinner and reception there as well. Laurie was wonderful to work with from the beginning to the end. She was easy to communicate with and able to meet our needs. She had the chairs, tent, and tables all set up for us which was awesome. The venue is gorgeous. We rented the house for the weekend which worked out great! The weekend was flawless. We will hold this place in our hearts for the rest of our lives. Thank you for everything!! I would highly recommend this venue for all your wedding needs!

There are no words to truly express how wonderful our family's experience was at the Henry Connor Bost House and Farm. The last week of September brought my now-daughter-in-law's family from the UK where they experienced the most wonderful wedding week; we could not have ordered a more perfect week. Of course, Laurie (manager) had nothing to do with the weather being so perfect, but with every other detail, you could see her touch. From the reserving of the venue to the communication to the first time we met at the fam, everything was perfect.. At our planning meeting, Laurie scheduled all our vendors so it was a "one-stop-shopping" experience. Every vendor recommended was wonderful....they were all so personable, professional, and just handled things. Being able to have the house the entire week made things so wonderful....family from the UK was able to spend true quality time with their daughter and future son-in-law as well as with the groom's family. They were able to truly feel at home the entire week. And the rehearsal evening....great! The wedding day....is there a word for better than great? And Laure, right there for the set-up of tents, tables, benches, etc on Thursday; there to see all went right on Friday for the rehearsal events, and present throughout the wedding day.....then on Sunday (the day after), she and her staff were right there making sure we were all okay as our travelers began their journeys home....to UK, NY, NJ, California, Minn., PA , SC(hope I haven't missed anyone,) .and of course, NC. So, from this groom's mother, five stars is not enough. I would recommend Henry Connor Bost House and Farm to anyone desiring the perfect small wedding where they can enjoy being with close family and friends making wonderful memories.

We held our Rehearsal Dinner, Wedding Ceremony and Reception at Henry Connor Bost House in September 2017, and the whole experience was beyond our wildest dreams! Laurie, her team, and all of the vendors she recommended to us were an absolute pleasure to work with and on the day itself, they worked tirelessly to execute everything perfectly. Laurie was so flexible and accommodated all of our 'special' requests, including allowing us to host our Rehearsal Dinner on the lawn at the Groom's Cottage. Our guests were truly wowed and the pictures are stunning. We feel very lucky to have found Laurie and her beautiful venue, and Henry Connor Bost House will forever hold a very special place in our hearts. Thank you so much Laurie! We hope to come back to renew our vows in ten years time! :)

My wife and I had an awesome experience using the Henry Connor Bost House and Farm for our wedding and reception. The venue was beautiful and everyone, especially Laurie the venue manager went above and beyond to give us the best day of our lives. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone. We also loved the location which provided a great middle ground for our guests, who were coming mainly from Winston-Salem, Charlotte and Raleigh to all be able to celebrate with us.
