During the wedding, he nailed our sound cues and then went right into cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. The music was always perfect for the mood - and when it was time for dancing, the dance floor was PACKED all night. He was amazing at reading the crowd's energy and keeping it going all night - and was happy to take requests from our guests. Herbert also came to the venue with his own sound gear and an audio technician, so everything sounded wonderful. We had no sound issues during our ceremony, and the rest of the night the music was loud but you didn't have to scream to be heard. Overall, he was an incredibly chill and lovely person to work with, and we absolutely would love to work with him again soon!

First, we wanted to plan our wedding on relatively short notice, and it was important to feel that our DJ would make the process easy and fun. Herbert is both super professional and also enjoyable to work with. The process wasn’t transactional, but rather, it felt like a collaboration. Your wedding planning process is stressful enough- you should have fun with this. Herbert communicates well. He really takes the time to understand your vision, your tastes, and your family and guests - and will make sure he pronounces every name correctly. He’ll give you honest feedback during the planning on how each choice could impact the vibe. Whether you are a music nerd (like us) or you’re someone who could care less - Herbert will tailor the music experience to you and your wedding, and he will make sure your ceremony and reception go off without a hitch or an awkward glance. Second, we wanted a DJ who would focus on the music without stealing the show. Any time he interacted with our guests, he brought his personality and humor without showboating or stealing the show. We really enjoyed his presence and his good vibes. ‘Nuff said! Third - musically, Herbert is at the top of his game. He loves his craft, and it shows! He does a great job reading the room’s energy to make the best music choices to enhance the moment. He knows when to turn up and when to chill out, without any cheesy showboating. We happened to give Herbert a ton of music feedback for our Jewish x Haitian wedding, and he absolutely nailed it. We went on a musical journey from the Horah to hip hop to reggae to Haitian zouk to wedding classics to karaoke. Name your style, and he’ll do his research and deliver. The best outcome is when people gravitate to the dance floor without thinking “Huh? That was a weird transition.” On the contrary, Herbert’s set was smooth, flowed organically, and his transitions between songs were technically on point 100% of the time. In conclusion, please put your wedding in Herbert’s capable hands! He really took the time to understand what we were going for, and he exceeded our expectations 1000%. Our guests (who are biased) loved what DJ Herbert Holler brought to our wedding day. On a side note, we did our research and other competing DJs even recommended him too :) … thank you DJ Herbert Holler for an unforgettable experience!

and what we saw our wedding to be. However, we couldn’t have been more wrong. Herbert still brought a great party and he brought it all together for an unforgettable party. Herbert was great to work with along the way as well. Herbert was willing to go above and beyond to help make the ceremony and reception happen. He’s reliable, dependable, and flexible. He was willing to play whichever songs we wanted and he has an ear for context. The whole night was a constant build and afterwards guests were commenting on how great the music was for the reception. We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ for the night.

ns, it really is an incredible feat. I’m a (former) DJ myself and I can attest that the most important aspect is that your DJ keeps your dancefloor moving. This is where Herbert excels. He took both a spreadsheet from my wife and a Spotify playlist from me (organized by BPM of course) and created an evening that hit all our various tastes. We also had some unique sound equipment needs that he was easily able to address. Furthermore, when he rocks up on the mic he rocks the mic (right!). The number of compliments we received from guests is just a testament to his skill set. In his credible mixing hands, we were able to not worry and go about enjoying our evening. It is without hesitation that we can recommend Herbert to provide the soundtrack to the most wonderful evening of your lives.

rbert KILLED it. From day one, we wanted our wedding to be a giant dance party, and he delivered several times over. The dance floor was never empty. I mean, never - from 6:30 PM to last call before midnight, Herbert seamlessly navigated our varied request list (which ranged from oldies, soul and funk to New Orleans big brass jazz, trap, 90s/00s rap and hip hop and everything in between) and he augmented it with his own selections perfectly. And the multi-generational crowd was moving all night long as a result. From our first introductory call with him, he was straightforward about his creative process which made everything for us SUPER easy and stressless. He was always accessible, attentive and responsive. He worked with us to meet our budgetary needs, and he gave us solid guidance along the way. At the end of the wedding night, and in the following days/weeks, dozens of guests commented on how epic the DJ was. Because he was epic. We can't recommend him enough. Seriously - he'll make your wedding everything you ever wanted it to be and more.

t we loved. He played such a cool mix of awesome tunes, some things I knew I wanted, and some other really pleasant surprises. Before the event we just told him what kinds of music we liked, we gave him a "do not play" list, and let him do the rest. And it was perfect. Imagine the coolest person you know and now imagine their favorite playlist, and that's what he played. The volume was perfect, lowering for when courses we're served and people were eating, and getting higher for times when everyone was up dancing. It was never too loud. And when it was time for announcements (such as first dance, speeches, etc.), he was great. He wasn't like one of those DJs that takes the mic at a wedding and starts yelling and carrying on and taking over the event (I've seen too many of those). Everything was so tastefully done. And beyond cool and fun. He helped elevate our reception. He made it into the greatest party. We were so happy that we had DJ Herbert at our wedding.

In true Herbert Holler fashion, our guests, along with the bride and groom, did not leave the dance floor- well only to go to the bar to re-up on a drink :-). Our wedding was held on a Sunday at 11 AM and Herbert kept the crowd on their feet! I am sure people will talk about how much fun they had at our wedding for years to come!
