Despite confirming a guest count of 60, Kim expressed concerns about bathroom facilities, requiring the rental of an additional room (at a cost of over $300) to ensure access to an en-suite bathroom. This room was also presented as a convenient space for the bride to get ready. During a subsequent visit with the wedding planner, Kim's forgetfulness and inconsistent information became apparent. Details regarding kitchen access, porch furniture, alcohol licensing, and noise restrictions were discussed, with Kim repeatedly stressing the 60-decibel limit for the DJ. She also initially agreed to a rehearsal and decorating time the day before the wedding, only to later create further problems. She then changed her mind about the check in time and requested the remaining balance in cash. Upon paying the balance, Kim suddenly expressed renewed concerns about the number of guests and bathrooms, despite the previous agreement and extra room rental. Her demeanor shifted dramatically, becoming snippy and uncooperative. She refused to discuss patio arrangements and was generally unpleasant. The rehearsal day was equally chaotic. Kim interrogated the bride and her friend about the planner's absence, disappeared for hours (leaving them without restroom access), and then abruptly demanded they leave around 6:30pm, citing late hours and other guests, despite prior agreement. Her rude behavior extended to yelling at the four-year-old flower girl. While the venue itself has potential, Kim's difficult personality and unprofessional conduct make it a place to avoid at all costs. She is manipulative, unpredictable, and created a stressful and unpleasant experience. I would absolutely not recommend this venue to anyone.

erlong for the first time, I immediately knew we had found our wedding venue. The Herlong sits off the main street in the quaint town of Micanopy and doubles as a beautiful bed & breakfast. Dan was always there to take our calls and answer any questions or concerns we had, even calling us after the weekend to offer his congratulations and personally make sure we were satisfied with everything throughout the weekend. With the groom being from out of state, it was such a fantastic option to have family and friends be able to stay there, as we rented the whole property for the weekend of our wedding. It also gave our guests such a unique experience to be able to stay here instead of a chain hotel. The staff was very welcoming and provided delicious made from scratch cookies in the afternoon and a wonderful three course breakfast. The banana foster french toast was unbelievable! Katherine was always there to help if we or any of our guests needed anything. As a wedding venue the Herlong is the best all in one option and even not as a wedding venue it is a great getaway from life's daily hustle and bustle. We highly recommend and thank Dan and his staff for hosting such an unforgettable weekend!

When we saw the breakfast room, we both had visions of being surrounded by our families as we ate together the morning after the ceremony. Seeing the porch swings on the column-lined second floor balcony, we envisioned relaxing there with wine on the evening after the reception surrounded by our friends. It seemed as if the very atmosphere of the mansion would make our day not just perfect for us, but somehow a timeless part of history. And our expectations were exceeded. The grounds, the house, the atmosphere, all worked together to make our day the picture of a perfect wedding in ways we couldn’t have anticipated. We hired barbers to give my groomsmen and I shaves that morning, and between the luxury of the house, the 20’s swing music playing in the background, and old-timey barber setup the feel of the day was unforgettable. The twin first-floor and second-floor outdoor balconies gave us a backdrop for wedding photos that brought tears to our eyes. From the central staircase or the original 1840’s wood features to the manicured grounds, everywhere you looked it felt as grand as the mansion’s façade. That fact that our entire party had booked out the house and that the whole grounds were reserved just for us gave us a wedding and a weekend that was priceless. The only thing we struggled with is that we were required to use the Herlong’s decorator and event coordinator, which are the most expensive in town. Trying to figure out how much everything would cost when it was said and done was very stressful. We ended up way over budget, but looking back on it we wouldn’t change anything. Dan was always available to answer our questions. Heidi took care of our every need. The entire wedding went off without a hitch just as we’d imagined, which is incredible. We love that we can go back to stay for a weekend and relive every moment. The Herlong gave us the wedding of our dreams, and we just wouldn’t have had that anywhere else.
