h ultimately made our decision. We did not feel comfortable relying on him the day of our wedding. I called to make an appointment for a site tour and no one got back to me. We decided to just go to the hotel and see if we can meet with a manager and get more info since no one got back to us. When we got there we met with the manager and another person that didn’t seem to work there. He seemed very bothered right from the start. He provided 0 information and when we asked for his available dates, he said was he “wasn’t taking any inquiries because it was too much work for him.” We got, no tour, no paperwork, no business card, and he avoided every question we asked. Even though he was standoffish and annoyed, being that we loved the vibe and atmosphere, we asked for a breakdown he started off at a very reasonable price. As soon as we showed interest - the price went up nearly 10x the initial amount. He was throwing in extras at crazy prices that he initially said he didn’t provide. For example, he told us he doesn’t provide food - we have to do that on our own but the food through him will cost us $22,000-$32,000. And they don’t provide the tent, but the tent will be $18,000. Which makes no sense - when we questioned how that is possible if he doesn’t provide food or tent - he got extremely defensive and just said “that’s just what it is - that’s what we charge.” It was bizarre. It seemed like he was throwing astronomical numbers out to shy people away from having a wedding there because it was too much work for him. We understand weddings are a lot of work for venues - especially newer ones like the Hero Beach Club but we would of preferred some honesty & integrity. It is such a beautiful venue and we both truly loved it until this experience.
