Hello! We are Emily and Erin, and it’s true! We are REAL sisters! We are two of four girls. Yea, our poor dad! ;-) We started our business with a Craig’s List ad for a free wedding 10 years ago, and here we are today, doing this amazing job, full time!
When we’re not behind the lens, you can find Erin camping, hiking and adventuring. And you can find Emily with a good book, writing poetry or hanging out with her sweet boy, Eli.
Although we live totally different lives, our passion is the same ... documenting all of life’s little - and big - moments! And telling your story, while passionately living ours.

beautiful + they make everything super fun. Their work is unmatched; the editing, coloring, moments they capture... I could go on and on. They understand a woman's good side. They get you a sample of your shoot so fast its incredible (bc trust me when I say you will be dying to see their work). We hired them for our wedding and she was my favorite vendor of the day by far (frankly she felt like a friend almost immediately its weird to call her a "vendor"). The final product (ie: wedding album) is GORGEOUS! They are affordable, travel to a pretty far radius without crazy travel fees, and are simply the best. I highly highly recommend them for your special day and all the moments in between.

We had the BEST time with them - they brought so much fun, humor, emotion, love to the day and were my personal hype girl haha. Not only were my husband and I obsessed with them but so was our entire bridal party, family and guests. And OMG THE PHOTOS. Absolutely stunning - I couldn't have imagined anything better. e moment we talked to Erin years ago we knew we had found the lady we wanted to photograph us. We further confirmed it by meeting her for our engagement session - she made us feel so comfortable! My husband and I are slightly awkward with having a camera pointed at us, but Erin took all the nerves out of the air instantly. She is genuinely sweet, bubbly, easy to get along with and super easy to work with. Within a few minutes of our engagement session, we were laughing and having a great time forgetting the camera was even there. We postponed our wedding in 2020 but Erin never let the communication stop. We worked out a new schedule and she stayed on top of correspondence, which really helped me feel at ease. Fast forward to the wedding weekend and not enough can be said about how incredible they were. We met Emily the day before our wedding for a couple pre-wedding events and she was so great! Again, we instantly felt comfortable and at ease. My friends and I are a bit goofy when we get together, and she fit right in – never making us feel weird about all our odd photo requests. And on the day of, the two of them were remarkable. They captured every moment perfectly. Anything I requested they captured and so, so, so beautifully. I can’t imagine anyone else being there capturing our big day, and we strongly recommend that when looking for a photographer, you choose these awesome ladies. You will not regret it for one moment.

fficulty finding someone willing to shoot our midnight, outdoor wedding. After speaking with several photographers, Erin was the first and only to embrace our concept and humanize the vendor selection process. She was thorough, detailed and subtle throughout her time with us. She made sure to capture every moment we asked for, as well as capture the spontaneous moments we didn't plan. She was absolutely incredible and we would highly recommend her for any wedding or event!

To top off the amazing customer service, within 48 hours of our wedding we received about 100 sneak peek pictures! That amazed me for such a quick turn around! Erin's same bright spirit carried through to our wedding day in Southwest Michigan and the pictures she captured were absolutely stunning (despite the challenges of our outdoor wedding taking place in the rain!) and uniquely reflective of us as a couple. I was a bit worried initially that Emily wasn't going to be able to join her as initially planned, but Erin brought along another photographer and was still able to capture our day beautifully. ly easy and fun to work with and helped me draft a timeline for the day and suggested different locations for photos on our wedding day. They were really flexible with the schedule for our day, too. The weather did not cooperate for our engagement session, but Erin did some great problem-solving and we ended up with some beautiful shots that we used for Save the Dates. Luckily, the weather on wedding day couldn't have been better, and we ended up with *hundreds* of gorgeous shots! I cried when I watched the sneak peak slideshow of photos, and to this day cannot believe how well they captured the beauty of the day - they are truly very talented photographers. Worth every penny - you will thank yourself for years to come for booking them for your wedding day!

For example, my spouse and I walked up to the wedding cake right after our grand entrance… only to see there was no knife to cut the cake! Emily noticed before we did, and she SPRINTED to the kitchen to save the day. They are 110% invested in making your day perfect- above and beyond the call of duty, without a doubt :)
Erin and Emily made us feel so comfortable through the whole process from planning all the way through our wedding day. Taking intimate photos can be intimidating, but we immediately felt at ease with these two! And we could not be happier with how our engagement & wedding photos turned out. Coloring, lighting, angles, and camera focus were completely perfect. They were able to capture the best of us, especially through all the emotions of our wedding day!

you! We wanted to do engagement photos in St. Joseph, MI and Erin was more than happy to travel for us (and also hike up some sand dunes!). She suggested poses when we needed it, but also loved having us making the shoot our own! We felt so comfortable throughout the whole process and would definitely book them again! She even posted a few photos the day after our shoot- it was so special to be able to share those with our loved ones! It has made us so excited to see the rest!

A friend recommended Hey Sisters! Photography to us. They were slightly above budget, but I was impressed with the Photo-Journalistic shots in their portfolio, as well as their artistic shots. When we got into contact with them, they were respectful of our budget, and worked on a custom package to fit what we needed.
Emily and Erin are just great people, which is a major plus since they were following us around on our big day. They listened to what shots we wanted, what aesthetic we wanted, and they even intuitively took photos that I didn't think to ask them for. They were never rude or bossy. They were fun, flexible, patient and accommodating.
They were quick to satisfy us, and our guests with a preview of the wedding album, and we got all of our wedding photos shortly after returning from the Honeymoon.
I would absolutely recommend these groovy sisters.
