My mind went into planning mode approximately 30 seconds after my now husband got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. The only thing I knew for certain in that moment was t...
hat I wanted to have Tay photograph our wedding.
While my husband and I are both cishet, it was a must for us to hire inclusive vendors. Love is love and we weren't interested in soliciting a business that didn't share that value.
From the get-go, Tay was incredible. She's kind and funny and made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. We felt like we could be ourselves. Everything about her is top-notch -- especially her humor. You will not find a photographer who encompasses all these things like Tay does.
Our photos speak for themselves. They capture us so perfectly and I'm thankful for Tay and all she did to make our wedding day picture perfect.
Tay is literally the best photographer ever, hands down. Her work is beautiful, she is kind, funny, accommodating, relaxing to be around- just an all around gem. Her communication ...
is top notch and very professional, but still personalized to you. She really focuses on telling your love story and is especially great at doing so for marginalized folks. Making payments is super easy in her online portal and she has payment plan options. She sends sneak peaks lightning fast and manages to pick the actual perfect pictures when doing so. She also goes above and beyond for her clients in so many ways. We had to reschedule engagement photos 3 times due to weather - she rolled with all of it and ended up making a time work for all of us where we got incredible pictures (both romantic, amazing portraits and some truly one of a kind, full of personality shots). At the actual wedding she was so efficient with portraits so we didn't have to spend a lot of time in front of the camera posing and got to spend more time celebrating with our loved ones. Tay is an artist who is approachable, easy to work with, and well worth the money. I will recommend her to capture your love to anyone for as long as she's photographing. And have I mentioned she is funny, gives excellent direction on how to pose, keeps you feeling relaxed and happy so there aren't any weird forced smiles, and can make even the sourest face kiddo smile (or at least not cry). Lastly, when my wife surprised me with my dog on our wedding day, Tay included him in the photos seamlessly and got some of the cutest shots of him ever. All in all, if we got married every year, I'd hire Tay to capture it every year. Heck, I'm going to find a way to get in front of her camera again because it is so fun!
TL;DR: Tay is magic, hire her today!
I honestly don't have words to describe how amazing Tay was and how much we appreciate the work she did. From our engagement photos to the wedding photos, everything was amazing. P...
hotography for our wedding was one of the most important things to me, and she delivered everything I wanted and SO much more. She is so fun, she makes everyone feel relaxed and made the experience so enjoyable! It felt like hanging out with a friend, who also happened to be snapping some pictures. This really shows in the photos. We look really natural and nothing ever looked posed or stiff. One of my husband and I's favorite part of the wedding day was being able to go off with Tay and take pictures just the two of us. Those are also our favorite photos from the day too. I have a large family, and wanted to get a lot of family shots with limited time. She was on top of it and made sure my (very large) photo list got checked off! It was amazing. We also got our entire wedding album by the time we got back from our honeymoon! It was incredible. I could sing Tay's praises all day, she really made all of the difference.
Tay impressed us immediately with her enthusiastic, sincere, and professional approach to her work. There was no hard sell; she let her philosophy and past projects speak for them...
selves. We weren't sure we wanted an engagement session, but she suggested we go for it so that we could get to know each other before the day of the event. We're glad we did. We felt comfortable with her right away, and got some great informal photos. On the day of the wedding, she was efficient without being the least bit obtrusive, getting shots of us and our guests. A number of the guests commented on how well she handled group and candid shots. During the ceremony and reception, she worked stealthily. We were completely happy with the results and felt we ended up with a brilliant visual documentation of our day, including the must-have shots as well as surprising ones of moments we may have missed if she had not captured them. We were thrilled with everything about Tay and would recommend her to grooms, brides, brides and grooms, and anyone planning an event that they want beautifully documented.
We hired Tay for what was originally supposed to be our April 2020 wedding, and wound up being our October 2021 wedding. It's a testament to her friendliness and flexibility that s...
he stuck with us through the entire process! It's also a testament to her skill that we hired her for an additional family photo shoot in between our engagement pics and the ceremony. She did a fantastic job with wrangling various poses and combinations of people for wedding pictures, and capturing beautiful spontaneous moments (along with Brandy, her backup photographer!) She's also just a great person to hang out with! We're so happy to have found a LGBTQ-friendly family photographer for life!
The single best decision we made with our wedding. Tay will literally work her ass off for you.
Tayanna photographed our wedding and wedding Sept. 4, 2021, and we couldn't be more thrilled. I don't have enough good things to say about her and her work. I just keep looking at...
the photos (yes, she sent me sneak peek pics THAT NIGHT!) and tearing up. She captured so many moments and the emotion in those moments so well. Not only was her work fantastic, but she kindly and patiently put up with my million-and-one questions. If you're looking for a photographer, you will be over the moon with Tayanna!
She captured all the moments that were important to us, and moments that we didn't even realize would be important. The quality of her work is outstanding, but as a person she is such a joy to have around you on your wedding day.
It was very important to my wife and I to find a photographer who was inclusive and had worked with LGBTQIA+ couples before, and Tayanna totally fit the bill. She made us feel so comfortable and we were able to be totally ourselves.
Simply put: Tay was awesome! Soon after getting engaged in January 2021, my wife and I were looking for a photographer for our wedding who could tell our story of our wedding throu...
gh pictures and Tay did that and more. We were very impressed with her professionalism and throughout the process. We threw a few wrenches at her for ideas (having engagement pics at an ice cream shop dressed in sweats, having a pic with smoke bombs, burgers in a theater, for example), and Tay was fully on-board with them and really brought the vision to life. Additionally, Tay gave direction, ideas, and support to us that we hadn't thought of. Her experience and expertise was definitely leaned on.
Tay was a solo shooter during the wedding day and amazingly was able to get a ton of coverage throughout. She was nimble and flexible, as some things didn't go exactly as planned. Her personality was a hit among our guests! She had made immediate bonds with them and it can be seen through the pictures taken.
Tay's work ethic is unmatched. We received our sneak peeks for both engagement and wedding photos almost as soon as both opportunities wrapped up (wedding was the same night!). The galleries were organized and thoughtful. Very easy to navigate!
It was important for my husband and I to have a photographer who represents all people. Someone who has a background in showcasing diversity. In Kansas City and beyond, finding someone like Tay is difficult. More importantly, finding someone who holds diversity and inclusion as a priority in the wedding space was and continues to be a struggle. We are a biracial couple with a blended family on top of having guests with a wide range of experiences and backgrounds. Tay was able to capture us and our guests in our element at a high level and without compromise.
We've known Tay for a few years now and have had her photograph us multiple times. We knew we had to have her for our wedding. Tay is a consummate professional. When she arrived at...
our wedding, she was ready to go and we didn't have to give her any special instructions when she arrived, and I can't appreciate that enough as the bride. When it came time for group pictures, Tay was engaging and she made sure everyone felt comfortable and continuously gave us tips on how to pose so she got the best shot. When I gave Tay my must-have photo list she was receptive to it and made sure to clarify anything she had questions about. After the wedding, we got a sneak peek THAT NIGHT and the full gallery was delivered within about two weeks!!! She knows you are antsy to see those beautiful pictures and she delivers!! All her hard work on the day of the wedding showed in our photos. They are beautiful and exactly what I imagined. She was able to capture all the details my husband and I worked so hard on. If you want photos that you will literally cherish for you entire life, hire Tay.
When I met Tay in the summer of 2017, Luke and I were freshly dating and filling in for a portfolio session that had cancelled on her short notice! And let me tell you... that was ...
one of the best things to have happened to us! We had a BLAST and it was then that I knew I wanted Tay to capture our relationship along the way— so when Luke proposed she was one of the first people I told! I have never been the most comfortable in front of a camera— but she makes it feel so dang easy. Tay has this way of capturing the purest moments, the goofy moments and all the love that exists between them. Just recently, she delivered again for us. Seeing our wedding through her lens was the cherry on top of my favorite day. I cannot thank her enough for the joy she has brought us— and the photos she has given us to show genterations to come.
I have had the pleasure of working with Tay since 2019 and I'm really excited to share my experiences. I originally met her through her boudoir services (also highly recommend) and...
it was a natural transition to hire her to do my engagement and wedding photos as well. What convinced me to continue to work with Tay was how comfortable and confident she made me feel in front of the camera and how well it translated to the work itself.
Tay is extremely professional and easy to work with. I always felt that we were on the same page leading up to each session and that I (and my husband) were the stars of the show. Our engagement session was really fun (even through the blistering heat of the summer) and Tay hyped up my husband and I the whole time.
When our wedding came around, Tay unfortunately wasn't able to make it herself. However - she made sure that I was well taken care of by a trusted colleague and had plenty of notice to consider my options. What could've been a nightmare scenario was so smoothly and professionally handled. Tay still handled the editing of my photos and they turned out spectacularly.
Tay is extremely talented and passionate about providing a high quality experience every time you book with her. I know that my husband and I are going to treasure these photos for a lifetime.
I knew I wanted Tay to be my wedding photographer after following her for a couple years. I was so excited that she was available on the date we settled on. She ensured we got all ...
the photos we wanted, as well as our weird request of pandemic mask photos. She made our intimate backyard wedding look like a wooded wonderland, and I just can’t say enough about how great Tay captured our day.
How do I even put into words the amount of appreciation I have for someone who made such a positive impact on the best day of my life? I truly cannot! My husband and I bought a wed...
ding package with Tayanna that included an engagement session -- I highly recommend doing both your engagement session and wedding with Tay! She is so fun to be around and will laugh at all your corny jokes. She made us feel comfortable just being ourselves while she captured intimate moments that we will cherish forever. She was extremely helpful on the day of the wedding, and literally chased the sunset with us to get the most amazing photos! We love Tayanna dearly and will always recommend her to anyone in search of the perfect wedding photographer!!! Thank you, Tay!
Choosing Tay to photograph our wedding was one of the easiest and best decisions we made. Both my husband and I are awkward and uncomfortable with being the center of attention and...
photographed, obviously a bad position to be in on your wedding day. However, Tay made something typically uncomfortable for us into something fun and easy! The photographs are beautiful and captured a lot of special moments as well as the energy of our dance floor at our reception!!
I hate having my picture taken. I feel weird and uncomfortable and out-of-place.
But Tay made the whole thing a breeze. She instinctively knew how to work with us, and our picture...
s turned out amazingly.
Tay has an amazing eye for photography, and it shows in the final product. On top of that, she's funny, cordial, professional, and brilliant.
We could not have asked for a better photographer to capture our day.
I am absolutely blessed to have chosen Tay for my elopement, both as a photographer and an ordained minister. It was an intimate ceremony and something so special that I will never...
forget. The ceremony and photos took place in the very cold snow, because I love snow! Tay was a champ making sure I got the best possible images that would bring back memories of this day forever! I have already had many people tell me that they were some of the best wedding photos they’ve ever seen! 😊 if you’re planning on eloping or need photos for your big wedding, Tay is your girl!
I can’t say enough about this incredible lady!!! She went well above any expectation I had for our wedding photos! She was sooo speedy with the delivery of our photos and she had a...
sneak peek of a ton of photos the same day! She felt like part of the party and was on the dance floor with us getting the best pictures and tearing up the dance floor with us! There is no way I could have picked a better photographer.
I can't recommend Tayanna highly enough. Not only were our pictures beautiful, but also she was an incredibly wonderful person to work with. She responds to emails quickly, and was...
flexible and organized. On our wedding day, it was awesome to have her around: she was fun and positive, and made bridal party pics and family pics actually fun and enjoyable. She's the best.
I have watched Tay’s art grow over many, many years and she never ceases to amaze me! I was lucky enough to be a bridesmaid in one of her weddings and the experience could not have...
been better. Honestly, I’m not the most photogenic person and I don’t really know what to do in front of a camera. But with Tay, everything just was so incredibly easy! She keeps it fun and relaxed. I cannot wait to have her with me at my own wedding someday! There is no one else I would trust more to capture those moments.

been better. I’m not the most photogenic person or really even know what to do in front of a camera, but she makes it so incredibly easy! I cannot wait to have her with me at my own wedding someday!! I cannot imagine having anyone else there to capture the most incredible day of my life.
Tayanna is a phenomenal photographer and her photos are proof of her talent! Tay makes sure the photos she takes on your special day captures both of your unique personalities and ...
the raw emotions you feel throughout the day! I am beyond delighted with our finished wedding album Tay produced and get to relive my entire wedding day every time I go through it, in turn, filling me with the same joy I felt on my wedding day as I married my husband. Tayanna has amazing artistic vision, but she also listens to your wants and needs and delivers exactly what you envisioned. I highly recommend choosing Tay for any of your photography needs as her work is always high quality and stunningl!
I have the pleasure of not only having Tayanna as a photographer but as one of my best friends. I know that any review a best friend can leave, could be biased but even saying her ...
work is exceptional is an understatement and her pictures, her work, and her passion to give you memories of the best day of your life speak for themselves. I really believe the light follows her spirit and because of that, her pictures are always breath taking. She comes in not only to do her job but to also make sure you are relaxed, comfortable, and ready to kill it in front of her camera. She makes you feel comfortable and beautiful and will take your family and friends in with ease. She is worth every penny and you will not be disappointed choosing her for your big day. Hey Tay is the way to go, without a doubt.

part of our family. She is just one of those people that you feel like you've known forever and she literally lights up a room. Tay was a pleasure to work with from day 1 when she met us at a local McDonalds to talk about what we were looking for in a photographer. I knew within the first 5 minutes that SHE is exactly what we needed for the big, nerve racking day. The pictures that she captured are absolutely breath taking!! She definitely has an eye for getting the most amazing shots.

lly comfortable! She has such a natural knack for photography, but she still let us have a voice and come up with ideas. She also got our pictures back to us SO FAST! As soon as I got them I immediately had them printed to hang all over our house! ❤️
I have not only had the privilege of working with Tay but I have also had the privilege of being photographed by Tay. She did my wedding and my one year anniversary, on my wedding ...
day she was amazing and made sure to get all of the shots I asked for but also got the ones I would have never even thought of. She always has creative and outside the box ideas and is always up for an adventure. For my husband Joey and I's one year session we went to a spot that Joey and me always went to has the cutest little sail boats. She was so patent with how far we had to drive to get to it. Not only do I love her, my dog loves her. Tay again thank you for being such a delight and an amazing woman!
Tayanna photographed an engagement session for my fiancé at I, and will be doing our upcoming wedding as well! We’ve absolutely loved working with her so far. She’s extremely easy ...
to get along with and quick to get to know, and we felt this showed in our pictures (which we loved). The process of reviewing, downloading, or ordering prints of our pictures was extremely user friendly. Above all, Casey and I were very eager to work with Tay due to her clear acceptance and celebration of the LGBT community - as an LGBT couple, it was intimidating at times trying to ensure we were connecting with vendors whose beliefs aligned with ours. We are very excited to have Hey-Tay there to capture our big day and have absolute confidence in the work she’ll produce!
Tayanna took our engagement pictures a few weekends ago and the photos are everything I could have ever dreamed of! She was super accommodating and was about to bump our session to...
the next day due to weather with no issues. She had a sneak peek ready that night, pictures to me by the end of the week! I CANNOT WAIT to see what see will do with our wedding pictures in March 2018!
