Stop looking, you've found your wedding photographer. We can't express how much we loved Marissa and how much she was a perfect fit for our wedding. She was instrumental in the overall wedding planning process; there were so many details, ideas, issues, etc. that we never would have thought of if it wasn't for Marissa and her incredible wealth of wedding experience. When I (the bride) was running late for the first look due to hotel issues, Marissa literally drove me to the venue in her own car. She's the kind of person who is not afraid to tell her client "no", and that's exactly what a young couple getting married for the first time needs; when presented with something she felt was a bad idea, she would provide examples from her experience of the consequences of doing this, and provide much better alternatives. We listened to her, and our wedding day went so smoothly as a result. :) Marissa is an absolute boss, which is exactly the kind of person you need as your wedding photographer. She can command a large, unruly group of people with ease, and can get so many complicated group shots over with in record time. For both the engagement session and the wedding itself, Marissa was quick, direct, and commanding, and the result was a huge variety of incredible photos; we had such a hard time deciding on photos for the Save The Date's and Thank You cards because there were so many amazing pictures! Heyn Photography's style of photography and editing is what initially caught our eye. We noticed that many wedding photographers these days will have photos that seem very washed out or overly bright. Heyn's photos however really bring out the colors of the day in such an amazing way. The photos look true to life, like they've perfectly captured our memories of the day. We are truly so in love with how our photos turned out, we can't stop talking about them or showing them off. We cannot recommend Marissa and Heyn Photography enough, they truly were superheroes and without them our wedding would not have gone half as smoothly as it did.

I would give an infinite amount of starts to Heyn Photography if I were allowed. My husband and I knew we were going to book Marissa and her team within the first 5 minutes of meeting her. Marissa has photographing weddings down to a science. We immediately knew we were in the right hands with Heyn Photography to capture moments on our special day. She was easy to get in touch with, and responded promptly to the many questions I had throughout our wedding planning process. Working with Marissa was one of our favorite parts of wedding planning. She was so organized and responsive throughout the entire process. She spent the time to get to know us which made us feel extra comfortable on our wedding day. We knew we didn’t have to worry about the flow of the day at all because she was on top of it. Marissa's positive energy kept us cool, calm, and collected all day. She helped to make our family and bridal party feel at ease and made taking photos extra fun. The sneak peek photos were amazing and sent insanely fast. We were not expecting them so soon and it was the best surprise. We also received the full set of photos and they are absolutely stunning. We used Marissa and her team for both our engagement shoot and our wedding. They are awesome! Marissa is SO on the ball, very punctual and very detail oriented, which is exactly what you need in a wedding photographer. She also thinks very quick on her feet, so if god forbid something goes wrong on your wedding day, she will have a solution. Her assistant John is also just hilarious. If you have a camera-shy or camera-awkward groom (like my husband lol), John and Marissa will break him out of his shell! Our photos are absolutely stunning. Upon my first consultation with Marissa, I knew I did not only find my wedding photographer, but also a built-in planner, and more importantly, a friend. I mean, sort of inevitable with both of us being Brooklyn natives ... :) Marissa was integral to planning our wedding day timeline. She has years of experience in 'what could go wrong.' As a Type A person, I took all of her insight into account- and it paid off- we got all of the pictures we wanted, AND WE MADE OUR COCKTAIL HOUR! Not only is she super organized, but over the course of our 2 year engagement, she was easily reachable for questions and a quick chat. I do not think you can get this level of service when going to one of those big wedding photography companies. Lastly, her talent is unmatched. My husband and I do not consider ourselves to be the most 'photogenic' of couples- however, she and her team captured beautiful moments of our day- memories that will last us a lifetime. It was important to me for our photos to have a timeless look- and that is exactly her style. I look forward to Marissa photographing my sister's wedding next year.

So much love for Heyn!! Marissa was a dream to work with from day one. She took the the time to get to know us and with years of experience, asked all the right questions. We decided to do an engagement session to get comfortable in front of the camera and had so much fun with Marissa and Kamelia. They coached us awkward turtles each step of the way and the photos we took in Asbury Park were timeless. Marissa was the first person I spoke to about postponing our May 2nd 2020 wedding in the first week of the COVID shut-down. With the utmost kindness and professionalism, she gave us advice on what to do next. When we decided to have a small beach ceremony in September 2020 with close family, Marissa was so flexible and re-vamped our photography plan for the more intimate setting. Our little big day was captured beautifully in photos we will cherish forever! Now, we're back to planning our October 2021 wedding celebration and I cannot wait to see our extended family and friends (including Marissa!) and celebrate in a BIG way!! To the massive amounts of emails that I have sent her, text messages, and phone calls, she never once not have gotten back to me. She was professional and so responsive. Where do I even begin? I'll start with this, I adore Marissa. Marissa is truly one of a kind. Marissa was truly my saving grace. I had no photographer, 4 months before my wedding, I reached out to Marissa and she didn't hesitate to take my wedding even when she was already fully booked for the year. Fast forward, my wedding was postponed due to covid, and again Marissa, my saving grace, helped me through the uncertainty of 2020 / 2021. I finally had my wedding day this past weekend and I absolutely couldn't have imagined it without Marissa being there. She kept my day running smooth, she kept me calm, she kept everything on schedule, she posed everyone perfectly, she captured the day perfectly. Her assistants Kelly and Kelsey, amazing. Marissa, Kelly and Kelsey work so well together, they make your day special, they make you feel so special. The day of my wedding, Marissa surprised my husband and I by uploading photos onto a tv for us and our guests to see. Stunning doesn't even begin to describe it. I saw another preview of my photos yesterday and my jaw dropped, I was actually at work and started tearing up. Marissa is truly so unbelievably talented. I am so grateful that she answered that email of a desperate photographerless bride when it would've been easier for her to say 'I'm booked.' Marissa & the rest of the Heyn photography crew have been my favorite vendor to work with throughout our wedding planning and re-planning process by far! When we met with Marissa back in July 2019, we knew we would be in good hands. Marissa is more than a photographer, and also offers a lot of help with planning and timelines. She brought up things we didn't even think of from logistics and timing perspectives - she will make sure your entire day runs smoothly. We were both a bit nervous for our engagement pictures because we never had pictures taken together before, but Marissa made us feel super comfortable by telling us how to pose - it was actually a very fun experience! We walked all around Hoboken and got different shots on the street, by the water & skyline, etc. so we had a variety of photos to choose from, even including our dog. When we had to postpone our bigger wedding reception from 2020 to 2021 due to COVID, I knew that Heyn was the #1 vendor that we had to keep when rescheduling. Marissa worked with us every step of the way and even guided us through rescheduling with our venue to ensure she was available on our new date. We decided to have a smaller wedding ceremony in 2020 and used Heyn as well. Just like our engagement pictures, we are IN LOVE with our wedding ceremony pictures and can't wait to use Heyn again for our 2021 reception! We will definitely have a hard time narrowing down pictures to pick for our album and prints, because they are all amazing. My mom even started crying and hugged Marissa, thanking her for taking such beautiful photos. And when we received our album, we were obsessed with how stunning the pictures looked in print! To say that we loved everything about Heyn Photography is an understatement. When we first met with Marissa to go over our options for our wedding, we knew we hit the jackpot; the quality of work that she showed us on her previous weddings was top notch. On top of that, Marissa was so easy to get along with and took the time to get to know us which was super important and really showed us that she cared. We decided to do an engagement shoot to get the opportunity to get to know her further and her style. When we finally nailed down a date, Marissa spent a ton of time going through all the details of the wedding day that we didn’t even realize that we needed. When you plan a wedding, you don’t realize the importance of a great photographer to coordinate the day and make it stress free. Hands down, we could not have picked a better team. Everything from helping plan florist drop off time and coordination with the guys at a different location - so much goes into it and we can owe it to Heyn for making the day go by flawlessly. She directed my husband and I for the pictures extremely well and also were able to capture all the special moments with the bridal party that we were hoping for as well. Then add in the amazing photos on top of that that we received so quickly, Heyn completely outdid our expectations. If you are looking for a perfect photographer, look no further. We love Heyn!

Marissa and her team at Heyn were the best decision from Day 1. We were very picky when it came to our photographer as we wanted real photos that were not only light & airy, and not too many awkward poses. Personality was also a crucial factor in our decision for us given it is a long day of hanging out together while keeping everyone focused and looking photogenic. As soon as we met her, we knew she was perfect. I then became a COVID bride having to do last minute changes of dates, locations, locations for pictures, and changes in timing, yet Marissa was a rock through it all. She was amazing before COVID, but her overall flexibility and support during it all, made her even more amazing. She does amazing work, but it was also amazing to have her and her team there the day of the wedding. They kept us on time, smiling, and relaxed the entire day throughout multiple locations and a large bridal party of people to keep in line. I really can't say one negative thing and would recommend a million times. A photographer is a huge decision, and you can't go wrong with Heyn photography!

It was very important to my fiance and I to find an incredible wedding photographer that we were comfortable with and could capture our personalities and style. Marissa had us captivated immediately after our first meeting with her, which ended up lasting hours because we had so much in common and the conversations kept flowing. Not to mention tropical storm Fay rolled in just in time for our day this year and Marissa and team did a phenomenal job dealing with all weather related obstacles on top of the pandemic challenges as well. We are so grateful Marissa & team worked with us through these uncertain times and could capture all of our big milestone events. We are looking forward to working with Marissa and team in May 2021 and will absolutely continue this great relationship we created with Marissa through our wedding journey. Update to my original review as we are FINALLY married- I legitimately cannot imagine my wedding day with Marissa having been by my side! From the moment she and her assistant Kelsey arrived in the morning, it made the day feel like a breeze. Kelsey's eye for detail and Marissa's magical talent behind the camera are unparalleled and they made it all feel so easy. My husband and his groomsman had an equally wonderful morning with the second shooter Jarot, and once we all came together, Marissa and her team made it the best day ever! Throughout the entire day, our bridal party, family and friends, were singing the praises of Marissa and her team and that praised multiplied times a thousand as we began to receive our sneak peek photos and proofs. What Marissa does is truly art and I have legitimately looked at my photos every day since receiving them because I am truly in awe of the beauty and wonder of them! Selecting Marissa as our photographer was the best decision I could have ever made, and not only do I have the most beautiful photos that I will treasure forever, I also have a true friend in her! *** I found Marissa and her team through my cousin, whose wedding she photographed, and hiring them was one of the best decisions I have made for my wedding! It's been almost a year since our first session with her, for our engagement pictures, and I still receive almost daily compliments on the photos. She is true artist and produces some of the best engagement and wedding photos I have ever seen! We booked Marissa for our June 2020 wedding. Like many others scheduled for this year, due to circumstances surrounding covid-19 we have postponed our wedding to 2021. Marissa has been there with us and for us every step of the way. It is an understatement to say that she is supportive. She is not only a gifted photographer but she helps tremendously with planning(seriously, save your $ you don't need a wedding planner!). She has worked with us to plan our original date in and has continued to work to reconfigure our plan for the new date, in a different season and year! It is not easy to go through postponing a wedding(especially in light of the difficult circumstances), but she has gone above and beyond to help make the experience significantly more manageable. Throughout the planning and postponing processes, Marissa has prioritized our happiness above all else. It is clear she will do whatever she can so that we ultimately have the wedding day, photos, and memories of our dreams. Marissa was the first vendor we booked almost two years before our wedding date before we even had a venue! I initially reached out for just engagement photos but after meeting and discovering what an asset she is to the wedding industry as a whole I knew I needed her to be a part of our day as well! I've known Marissa since early 2017 when I booked her for my wedding. Unfortunately, that wedding did not work out. This past June, we were lucky to have Marissa capture our wedding day. Back in 2014, Marissa photographed my sister's wedding. I knew when it was my time to start planning a wedding, I wanted Marissa to be our photographer. Her skill and eye for beauty is unmatched and she is also a super awesome person to work with. Marissa is AMAZING!!! From the first conversation with Marissa I knew we would be a good fit and that she understood our wedding vision. She not only captured the day perfectly she also created the timeline for the wedding day so everything ran smoothly. She found amazing spots for us to take pictures with our bridal party so we would have different backgrounds for our pictures. She even had a flash drive of the photos playing during our reception so guests could see the pictures from the day. Everyone was blown away by the pictures (my friends mom said they were like art).
