Hickory Hills Recreation Area provides a venue located in Traverse City, MI, accommodating weddings, rehearsal dinners, wedding showers, parties, and business meetings. Owned and operated by the City of Traverse City, Hickory Hills is nestled in 125 acres of parkland and offers views of both East and West Grand Traverse Bays. Most commonly known for its ski hill operations during the winter months and disc golf course in the summer, Hickory Hills now offers a new lodge as a venue for special events. The City and its dedicated team welcome couples from all over the world and look forward to hosting your special day.
The Hickory Hills Recreation Area features a fine selection of indoor and outdoor spaces for all seasons. The Lawn, a 4,000-square-foot strip of beautifully manicured pasture, accommodates ceremonies of up to 325 guests. Receptions and cocktail parties can take place at The Lodge, where roaring stone fireplaces, homey wooden floors, and tall windows looking out onto Traverse City's stunning terrain create an ideal atmosphere for intimate celebrations.

mily and guests of all ages in our Premier League soccer themed event. The commercial kitchen easily supported our caterer’s needs, the open lawns surrounding the lodge made for some terrific impromptu soccer pitches with plenty of room for adults and youngsters to play. After celebrating and dining on a full American style BBQ in the lodge our guests continued to socialize and catch up around the fire pits outside. It all made for a delightful event and evening.
Working with Cindy, the lodge manager, was a pleasure and she guided us on the best use of the facility for our purposes. We were also happy to know that our rental fee for the facility went directly into supporting this highly valued community asset.
