ur wedding day that we loved. Unfortunately, after giving the venue nearly a year to acknowledge the concerns we raised after our wedding, I feel it’s important to share our experience for other couples considering this venue. First, the positives: Many of our staff members were wonderful. Jaime in particular was kind, attentive, and did her best to follow through on the details that had been communicated to her. The food itself was also excellent, and we received so many compliments from our guests. The grounds are beautiful and made for a gorgeous setting for our wedding. Unfortunately, the organization, communication, and coordination leading up to and during our wedding fell far below what we had been promised. Several details that we had discussed and confirmed in advance were either forgotten or executed completely differently on the wedding day. Just a few examples : there was no staff member directing guests into the chapel or coordinating with our DJ before the ceremony. We had specifically agreed that salads and pasta could be served during speeches to keep dinner moving, but that did not happen, disrupting the timeline and contributing to pasta being served cold. Our signature drinks had been submitted and confirmed ahead of time, yet the bartenders appeared to have no knowledge of them. Most concerning, multiple guests with documented allergies or dietary restrictions were served incorrect meals. Creating a legitimate food-safety concern. One of the major reasons we booked High Point Gardens was because we were told there would be an onsite coordinator. Unfortunately, we did not experience anything resembling the level of coordination we had been led to expect. Much of the day was left for our family, friends, DJ, and other vendors to troubleshoot. Looking back, one of the biggest warning signs was the lack of documentation throughout the planning process. We repeatedly discussed details in meetings, but very little was documented. This resulted in many of our personalized touches and preferences being left out. I understand that no wedding is going to be perfect, and I would never leave a negative review because of a few small mistakes. However, following our wedding, I sent a detailed email explaining these concerns. I made a point of recognizing the staff members who did a wonderful job, explained specifically what had gone wrong, and simply asked for a formal response and a conversation about how they planned to address the situation. We were never given that conversation. We were not offered compensation. We did not receive an explanation. So, nearly a year later, that lack of response is ultimately what prompted me to write this review. There are beautiful aspects of High Point Gardens, and there were people working our wedding who genuinely cared and worked hard. But when you trust a venue with one of the most expensive and important days of your life, communication and accountability matter just as much as beautiful grounds and good food. For couples considering High Point Gardens, I would strongly recommend getting every single detail in writing and seriously consider hiring your own day-of coordinator rather than relying on the coordination services offered by the venue.
