Based in Fort Collins, CO, Hillary Shedd Photography captures weddings and engagements in the Centennial State. Owner Hillary loves getting to know her clients and telling their unique love stories with her camera. Working in a photojournalist style, she aims to encapsulate the candid moments of joy and intimacy as they occur at each celebration of love. She hopes that couples will revisit her photography for years to come and be transported back to the most romantic day of their lives.
Hillary first fell in love with photography as a young person and went on to earn her degree from the International Center of Photography. Throughout her career, she has worked with numerous couples as well as conservation groups, including the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the National Audubon Society, and NOAA. She now lives in Colorado with her husband, daughter, and Australian Shepherd where she enjoys hiking in the mountains, finding all the lakes, and taking in the beautiful scenery.
Hillary Shedd Photography strives to ensure that your wedding photography is comprehensive and beautiful without causing you any stress. This photographer will get to know what you consider the most important parts of your wedding so that she can capture each moment with care. Afterward, you will receive an online gallery with all your edited images, with the option to add framed prints and heirloom albums. Hillary also shoots engagements, which she considers an opportunity for you and your partner to tell your love story and how you have grown together. She will advise you on outfits and locations and will work to memorialize the laughter, love, and excitement of this momentous occasion.

h our early May welcome party at The Landing and our full wedding day at The Chapel on the Rock and The Boulders at Black Canyon Inn— and truly captured the entire weekend with heart, energy, and incredible attention to detail.
From the beginning, Hillary was extremely communicative and organized. She helped us plan the timeline, offered suggestions on photo locations and lighting, and made us feel totally comfortable every step of the way. On the wedding day itself, she was such a positive presence — calm, focused, and also just so much fun to be around. You spend more time with your photographer than almost anyone else that day, and we couldn’t have asked for a better person to be by our side.
She and her husband hustled all day and made sure every detail — big and small — was captured. The lighting and composition across all of our photos is stunning, whether it was the golden hour portraits or the cozy indoor shots during the reception. We also appreciated how quickly she turned around the full gallery — it was such a joy to relive the day so soon after.

of capturing not just the big moments but all the little details as well. She truly gets to know her couples and her photojournalism style tells the story of the day. From the moment we started to work with Hillary we both felt comfortable and at ease. She is incredibly talented as a photographer, but also is just a really kind, professional, caring person to work with. You can tell she loves her job and that made us feel so much more at ease with taking photos. She also helped carve out some special alone time for my husband and I during our big day, where while taking photos we were able to just pause and be present with each other. She helps facilitate beautiful moments in a natural way that captured the love, joy, happy tears and laughter that made our wedding day so special. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but Hillary is incredibly organized, communicates well and offers great advice when planning the day of timeline. We also received our sneak peak within a few days of our wedding that included a great variety of photos and then within 7 weeks had our full gallery. did it all and went above and beyond! She got to know us through video calls, questionaries, and an engagement session. She was very organized throughout the planning process and wedding day. One thing that a lot of people don’t think about is the timeline portion of receiving photos. Hillary has an amazing turnaround time for sneak peeks and the full gallery.
I highly recommend an engagement shoot with Hillary. It was my favorite part of the wedding planning process. It allowed us to be one on one with Hillary without the stress of the wedding festivities. We got to meet each other in-person, get comfortable in front of the camera as a couple with Hillary, take photos in more casual clothes, and share a lot of laughs along the way. We had our engagement shoot about four months before the wedding, which was perfect timing because it got us even more excited about the wedding when the photos came back.
My favorite parts about Hillary’s images are the timeless, classic, vibrant elegance in each photo. She balances the subjects without losing color in the background. She’s able to bring in light without making it feel overpowering in the photos. My family and friends loved the photos as well. Many of their comments included things like, “These pictures are fabulous!”, “Your photographer was the best I’ve ever seen!”, “Absolutely stunning photos!”

After using Hillary & Taylor for our engagement session, we knew we had made the right decision. We were nervous to be in front of the camera in such an intimate way, but Hillary has a way of soothing all your nerves as if she is someone you've known your whole life. She immediately calmed us with her kind demeanor and used the perfect cues to make us laugh, cry, and everything in between.

We decided on Hillary about 10ish months before the wedding date & even before then, she was in contact with us to not only offer help with the overall timeline, but also in getting us excited for our big day.
Her level of communication was incredible leading up to the day and ultimately, she really want instrumental in the flow of the whole day even with having a month of/day of coordinator.

She really listened to what we wanted in wedding photos and gave us the most raw, real moment photos of our closest friends, family, and overall our best day ever.

vendors and even additional materials such as engagement outfits ideas, locations, what to include for your details box on the wedding day, and many others! I loved this aspect as they know all this better than we do and can use all the help we can get. For the engagement photos we got stuck in the rain and we still had a great time and the images turned out great. They even provided some hot chocolate for after, the small details. For the wedding I was really happy with the planning items such as the questionnaires and meeting to make sure we were all on the same page and that we all had what we needed. This included her help to finalize my timeline and get her thoughts on it. Then on the wedding day Hillary and Taylor did their thing and I didn't need to worry about a thing, just enjoy the day. Everything ran smooth and we had a great time. The end result was better than we could of imagined and I would highly recommend. In fact, one of my bridesmaids ended up booking her after seeing my engagement photos and would also give her 5 stars.

She woke up at 3AM and drove into the mountains with us to be there at 5:30 as the sun rose to shoot our ceremony. She even dragged her husband out of bed for a secondary shot assistant! They were both great to work with, and provided more beautiful images than we ever could have imagined. With a photographer being such an important part of the wedding budget, I spent hours researching Colorado photographers and interviewing potential vendors on the phone (sounds Type A, I know). When I saw how beautiful Hillary's photos were online, I was interested. When we got to speak with her on the phone before signing a contract, I was convinced we would be making the right choice by choosing her to photograph our day. She shot both our engagement session and our wedding, and did a PHENOMENAL job. The photos are fabulous, and are so special to have to be able to look back at our wedding day in the future. Hillary is very organized and communicates throughout the whole process (from contract signing to photo reveal after the wedding!), the site she uses to share the photo galleries with us are very user-friendly, and she sticks to deadlines. Hillary brought such a light and easy going presence to our day that otherwise was pretty hectic (but perfect!), and the whole time was capturing every moment.
