ame to deciding who we wanted to cater, it was a no brainer. Joel, the catering manager, was fantastic to work with. He was on top of emails, always responding within 24 hours. And while I'm sure I asked a TON of silly questions (I've never thrown a party for 25 people, let along the 150 that our guest list quickly skyrocketed to), he was always respectful in his responses, asking appropriate clarification questions as needed. I mentioned in our first meeting that I was a bit apprehensive about budget, knowing with our guest list, that food/drink/service was going to a major part of our budget. Joel didn't have a problem working within our budget suggesting several ways that we could save some money - table/chair set up ourselves (venue staff and wedding planner were easily able to do this), buying our own disposable plates/cups/silverware/napkins, and providing our own alcohol - to get the most bang for our buck. And since all of their catering dishes come off of their restaurant menu, they don't do tastings like most wedding caterers. Instead, Joel gave us a gift certificate to use for dinner one night to help decide our menu. We had fun getting to enjoy a date night a few weeks before the wedding and sample everything to make our final decisions. Sometimes I feel like catered food in bulk can turn out different than what you may get in the restaurant, but it was delicious!! My husband and I made a point to sit down and actually eat dinner while we got to watch our reception for a few minutes. We both enjoyed our food and they also packed us up some to go containers to eat the next day before we left for our honeymoon!

during the planning process (since we had obviously never thrown a party for 200 people before). He was very patient with our incessant and never-ending questions, came out to the wedding site twice throughout the year to walk things out and was always willing to be flexible and work with us to get the job done. He also gave us good recommendations when he thought something wouldn't work so well, like substituting corn bread for hushpuppies because they hold up better in the North Carolina summer heat/humidity. On the day of the wedding, the staff was super helpful and friendly, always smiling, and seemed genuinely happy for us. Many of them came up and congratulated us and complimented us on the wedding. Everything involved with the food and drink went seamlessly, and if there was a hiccup (and there were one or two, apparently) nobody knew until afterwards because Joel and his staff handled it perfectly! Plus their food is an absolute BARGAIN, delicious for what you pay for it. Rave reviews from guests on their barbecue, and the vegetarians among us loved the grilled vegetables and mac & cheese.
