A fairytale wedding venue… with excellent customer service. Our wedding this past weekend was truly a dream come true, many thanks to the entire team at the Hilton Chicago.
We worked with Dina as our main contact, Silvia and Jennifer on the reservations team, and Mario as the head chef. Each and every team member was exceptional at doing their best to go above and beyond. You can tell it was their goal to say “yes” whenever at all possible.
Our guests have raved about the “fairytale wedding”, “beauty and the beast ballroom”, and how elegant the entire event was. We didn’t even leave the venue for outside pictures, as there were so many photo ops in the beautiful and historic building for.
The food was exquisite, and served hot! The desserts table was to die for, from their in-house pastry kitchen. Our guests loved the Chicago themed late night snacks of hot dogs and beef sandwiches.
The rooms reserved for our family and us were also perfect for all of the hosting we did throughout the long weekend, and the perks that come along with hosting a hotel wedding are seemingly endless.
I would highly recommend the Hilton Chicago for an elegant, classic, and jaw dropping venue for a ballroom wedding.
The Chicago Hilton and its employees were OUTSTANDING for our September wedding. VENUE: The Grand Ballroom is unlike any reception venue in Chicago - our guests were blown away by how beautiful it was, and it’s a large enough venue for our big group (300). Didn’t require much decor because of it’s ornateness - those chandeliers are gorgeous. Big dance floor was a plus! Cocktail hour in Normandie Lounge was a beautiful space and a great room for to prepare everyone for the ballroom. SERVICE: We worked with Robert Neubert to plan our day, and we can’t say enough how fantastic he was to work with. He was professional and timely in all correspondence, accommodating of event requests, and helpful in planning the reception menu and order of events. Additionally, the dinner service team, check-in desk, bell hops, valets, and everyone who interacted with our guests were pleasant and kind. We received many compliments on how friendly the staff was throughout the weekend, and how they stayed on top of important dietary restrictions during dinner. FOOD: Our dinner was incredible. Sometimes you go to large weddings and your plate looks like it was made on a banquet-hall assembly line - that is NOT the case at The Hilton! Every dish was plated like you were at a 4-star restaurant, and people couldn’t stop talking about the lobster bisque and filet paired with shrimp. Their chefs worked one-on-one with us at the tasting to create options for gluten free and vegan guests as well, who were very appreciative to have such delicious options. Our cake was stunning as well, based on a picture I showed them from Pinterest, and tasted good too! ROOM BLOCKS: This was maybe the only pain point we had. You are given a phone number and website to use for room reservations, and the phone number is for a global Hilton reservation group who gave wrong information to some guests. However, the staff worked with us diligently to right that wrong, and the online reservation system worked perfectly. The rooms were remodeled a few years ago and are stunning, especially if you get a lake room or suite. We had hotel welcome bags delivered to the rooms (at a small fee) and it was such a nice touch for out-of-town guests! AFTER-PARTY: We hosted an after-party following the reception at Kitty O’Sheas (ground floor of Hilton) and it was a blast! Everyone enjoyed the live Irish music on Saturday nights, and we pre-ordered sampler platters for a late night snack (mini reubens, mac n cheese, soft pretzels, fries, etc.). The staff met with us and helped us pick the menu and reserve a private space for our guests. POST-WEDDING BRUNCH: We hosted a brunch the next morning at 720 South (ground floor of Hilton) and it was even better than I expected! It’s a breakfast buffet with the basics but also includes an omelet station, granola station, specialty Asian dishes, breakfast quesadillas, and all sorts of yummy and unexpected treats. David Tinsley and his staff was wonderful and greeted everyone when they arrived, it was just an overall positive way to end the weekend. — If you’ve read this far and are considering the Chicago Hilton for your wedding, we hope this helped! Robert Neubert, The Grand Ballroom, and the Hilton staff come highly recommended from a happy Chicago bride & groom!
Since my husband and I moved into together jut before getting married I still wanted to get ready somewhere else. This hotel was so accommodating. They allowed for us to do our first look photos there in the lobby as well as on their beautiful staircase.
