FYI after trying to contact them with no answer, we finally realized this place is closed and they are trying to sell the hotel so don't waste your time trying to reach out and not...
hear anything. Guess a shooting happened there and they decided to close.
We had a really small winter wedding. We only had about 85 people who attended, which was perfect. We had our wedding reception at the Shiroz on the Water restuarant at Hilton In...
dian Lakes Resort. It was perfect! The banquet hall only fits about 100 people so it was just what we needed for our intimate feel. The hall is surrounded by long windows all around, so you can see the outdoor Xmas lights from side to side. It made it look even more initimate. Extra Xmas lights were added to the tree within the middle of the restuarant too, so it was just so beautiful to see at night. The hall was decorated beautifully and staff amazing! They were really on top of things...Nothing is perfect of course! But I was happy with everything Lori, Wedding Coordinator did for us. She was amazing to work with and helped keep us within budget and still being able to get all the little extra's we wanted. It looked very classy and elegant...Everyone like it! And the FOOD! Chelf Timoloen is a genius! I don't know but everyone at our wedding kept raving about the food! So I'm really happy with the reception site, food, overall ambiance and hotel accommodations were all a plus! I would definitely recommend a very small intimate (75-90 guests) wedding at the Shiroz on the Water or a bigger one at the Hotel venues. I'm sure the service and food will be amazing too. Thanks for making our wedding super awesome! =)
When my first venue fell through several months before my wedding, Lori and her team at Indian Lakes jumped in and saved the day. We truly feel like it happened for a reason, and o...
ur wedding was even better than it would have been at our original venue.
We wanted our wedding to feel more like a backyard party than a formal affair, and Lori suggested the East Pavilion Tent. While weddings are not usually held in the pavilions, Lori understood our vision and ran with it. She was great about answering questions, solving problems, and replying to emails. She helped us plan the perfect party and everything went so smoothly.
Our guests raved about our venue, and they're still talking about it. Lori and Chef Tim helped us create an amazing menu - sliders, salads, pastas, ice cream sundaes. The buffet was an absolute smorgasbord, and we had dozens of people tell us it was the best wedding food they ever had. The white tent and white linens looked more elegant than I ever could have imagined, and the service staff was excellent.
I can't thank Lori and Indian Lakes enough. Our reception was EXACTLY what we wanted it to be.
I had my wedding at this venue on 6/14/14. It was great! The hotel is upgrading several parts of the place (This is an older building but they are making upgrades). But the arc...
hitecture is quite different from any other hotel you've seen. Aside from that, you can have the ceremony in the tent (in the summer) we had a string trio playing and it was perfect. There is also a fireplace cocktail waiting area that was super cool. The staff was great! The event was great. I loved the octagon room that we had for the reception (again.. lots of unique and different aspects from this building that you won't see anywhere else). There was never a wait for a drink (the staff / bartenders were fast) It was also nice to have the ceremony, reception and hotel rooms all in one place. This place is HUGE and is a resort. I didn't feel like I was in Bloomingdale IL! Our contact at the venue (Lori) was great. She is aggressive but that is what you want and need to run a wedding. She made sure everything was great and was a great communicator with us and answered / helped us with any questions that we had. If you keep in mind this is a older building and they are upgrading it... this is a great place. I would recommend her (Lori) and I would recommend this venue for a wedding!
Wow, what a great "one stop shop" for everything for your big day! My husband and I could not have asked for anything more. When we checked in the day of the rehearsal we were tr...
eated like VIP and that continued until we checked out the day after. Everything was taken care of by the phenomenal staff at Indian Lakes. We had not only our wedding reception there, but also our ceremony and rehearsal. We didn't have to worry about food, which was the most delicious wedding food I have ever had, or any set-up or take down.
This was the perfect location for our wedding events. We could not have been any happier!
Lori Is nothing short of AMAZING!!! I must have emailed her 1000 times over the past year with different questions and she was always quick to reply and had the right answers! She ...
kept me calm and collective. The day of the wedding everything ran so smooth, no hiccups and I was a calm bride (unusual for me because I worry about everything!) The trillium was well decorated and the food was delicious. The Mushroom strudel got raving compliments from my guests.
Lori is great! The venue is unique and beautiful! and the food was amazing :)
We had our wedding and reception here. When we got there for the rehearsal the setup for the ceremony was wrong so we were super nervous for the wedding day as our coordinator was ...
not at the rehearsal. For the wedding day everything was perfect though. They stashed me up in our suite while guests were arriving and so my husband wouldn't see me. I was told I'd get a call when it was time to go down. I was 20 minutes late to my own wedding because the coordinator forgot to call me! We also heard that the reception was not set up as we had planned it either so make sure you have someone check the setup before your reception. The prices came in well under most other places around but the gratuity was absurd! The hotel is beautiful and has many activities for guests to do during their time there. And the food was great and the servers were excellent.
From the beginning of wedding planning, we wanted a hotel for our wedding, but we wanted it to be different. We decided about Indian Lakes because of the beautiful resort. We had o...
ur ceremony on the master's patio looking out at the golf course and our cocktail hour and reception inside in the fireplace lounge and trilliums. The hotel workers were not helpful and did not do their job. The wedding coordinator at the venue, Lori, was not professional, complaining about other clients, etc. On the day of the wedding, the resort was behind and my wedding party had to do a lot of the set up. Which is not what I wanted to worry about on our wedding day. The food tasted great, but there were several horrible things that happened during the reception: there were ants on food plates, the servers lost our toasting glasses, served the incorrect salad dressing, and were not organized.
Our wedding was beautiful because I was organized. I had everything labeled and we ready for the day. Hilton did not hold up their end on the day of the wedding. With the ants on the plates, the unorganized staff, not helpful staff (my wedding party and family had to set up a lot of items because the wedding coordinator was late and I was told that the hotel would set the stuff up, not my family.)
Because of the many things that went wrong on the day, I spoke with the manager of the hotel, and he was kind (not great at returning phone calls). He did refund us some money because of all of the mistakes that the venue made.
Finally, I just want to say, we had a beautiful wedding at a beautiful venue. I just wish that Hilton staff and customer service would have been up to par. (ALSO! before you sign the contract, the service fee (that they will hide from you) is actually 23% in addition to the bill.)
Everything turned out great! Food was amazing, staff was friendly, etc. The only thing that gave me a little concern was the set up- they didnt set up my room until like a couple h...
ours before. And a couple days before the wedding I was told that my centerpieces were too much and the staff was not going to be able to put them together. BUT everything turned out perfect!
We had a fantastic reception! The food was much better than the initial tasting. The hospitality was wonderful, and though we had a few minor hiccups planning with the resort, all ...
was very easily taken care of and all of the staff is quite friendly.
One let down was that the outdoor pool was not open for memorial day weekend as they said it would be, but the weather was chilly and an indoor pool offered was quite adiquit. The spa was also not open as said it would be, but luckily there were options nearby for people to get their hair/nails done. Due to these inconviences, the resort up graded us to the suites, which worked out really well for our after hour entertaining. The resort its self could use a bit of upgrading, however its a unique Frank Lyod Wright inspired resort which gave it character.
We had a small wedding and reception of just 50 people and Indian lakes treated us so well through every step of the process. The service and food were outstanding while the venue...
was breathtaking. Everyone had clean plates and had a great time.
We had our reception & ceremony at Indian Lakes. Lori, our on site event coordinator was so incredibly helpful through the whole process. I asked her a million questions and she wa...
s very fast getting me any answer. The location was great as well. The ceremony was nice in the atrium; however, beware for audio purposes in your videos for the ceremony and for your attending guests the waterfall is quite dominant in its sound. It was fine during the ceremony for me but thats may be something to consider. The cocktail hour and reception were delicious! The food was well prepared and the servers were very nice & patient with our guests. Overall it was a great space and so convenient to have a wedding at!
When we were deciding on a place to have our reception, we didn't want a cookie cutter reception hall. My family had gone to Indian Lakes for years when I was younger, and I've al...
ways loved it there. After visiting MANY venues, we went into Indian Lakes and knew that was the place. We loved the architecture of the rooms. They have windows and a unique shape. We worked with Nicole and she was wonderful. She was there every step of the way for us and helpful with all out questions. Fast forward to the day of the event. We provided our own centerpieces, which they said they would assemble for us. I provided very detailed notes about how they were to be done. They looked great, but they did forget to put the water in the vases, which would have made the led lights reflect off the beads and mirrors. It was a little bit of a bummer, since we spent the extra money on water safe led lights. However, we had frames with stories of how we met to go on the tables for cocktail hour, small candy bars, candy bars for place cards, a candy buffet, etc...they executed that great. The room took our breath away when we walked in. It was truly stunning. The cake is provided through a bakery in Mount Prospect and although we gave an exact description, complete with drawing of our cake, the bakery messed up our monogram. They put a black backing with purple letters on a white cake. You couldn't even see our initials. I don't blame Indian Lakes for this but it might be time to look into a different bakery (it's been 2 years since our wedding, so maybe they have changed it).
There was no lack of food. We opted for the plan with appetizers during cocktail hour. Delicious! Our meal was AMAZING! I do not remember going to a wedding where there were so many cleared plates! We did the filet & chicken florentine combo. So tasty.
Overall our wedding was so wonderful! We have so many great memories of our special day. We have some amazing pictures because the venue lends itself to that. And our room the night of was unreal. We have gone back for both our 1st & 2nd anniversaries and plan on making it a tradition.
Let me just say I was scarred at first to use this hotel for my wedding day because it does look some what out dated. But once I had my decorations and flowers inside the tent and...
banquet hall everything looked amazing. Amy and her team really came through for me on my special day. The feed back that I received from my guest was that the food was amazing. We went with the steak and salmon selection,it was kind of pricey but well worth the money. The hotel is in the process of doing some major updates like a new floor in the tent, and adding air conditioning inside the tent.
The inside is like a rain forest. And I loved the architecture. The room placements where so unique and fun. I loved this hotel. And the customer service was AMAZING! I loved the h...

urance for my March wedding.
We loved our venue, but there were some things that just did not sit right with us. No one told us that our cake, provided by them, was going to be cardboard with a sheet cake in t...
he eback. So to our surprise when we went to cut the cake our knife broke! Thank God we had a Grooms Cake made. The venue itself was breathtaking. The coordinators were helpful, but I felt that I had to nag them to get things done! I know that some of our guests were given a hard time with their room situation too!
This place made my dream wedding come true
I worked with Lori and she was fantastic. The food was great and we were comp the penthouse. The golf course is great. The only problem ...
was they changed the menu from the time we book to the wedding. sucked bc most ppl go over the prices which were higher on the new menu. They did honor the food just not tge prices.
My wedding isn't until October 2011, but it has been a pleasure to work with the staff at Indian Lakes setting my date & reserving the space. The banquet rooms are rustic &...
elegant, and the entire hotel is filled with recent upgrades when it switched over to a Hilton Hotel. I'll definitely update this review as I work with them more, but I am looking forward to having my wedding there!
Indian Lakes is different due to the Frank Llyod Wright style architecture. We loved that we could have the ceremony there on site then cocktails outside on a patio & then the re...
ception in the ballroom. Plus our guest had fabulous accomodations right on site. It made the day very easy & effortless in terms of travel. It is a perfect place if you want to have a get-a-way wedding without leaving the Chicagoland area.
