We chose Hilton Garden Inn Milwaukee Downtown as our main wedding hotel block, and it was truly the perfect choice. From start to finish, Tory was incredibly helpful and responsive...
, guiding us through every detail with professionalism and warmth. She made the entire process smooth and stress-free, which allowed us to fully enjoy our big weekend.
The building itself is absolutely stunning. The historic architecture set a beautiful backdrop for both our rehearsal dinner in the Beaman West Room and our Welcome Party in the grand atrium. Our guests were blown away by the unique setting—many of them raved not only about the gorgeous atrium but also about how comfortable and well-appointed their rooms were.
The atrium, in particular, was a showstopper. It created such a memorable and elegant space for our Welcome Party, and guests are still telling us how impressed they were. The Beaman West Room was equally perfect for our rehearsal dinner, with its atmosphere striking the right balance between intimate and celebratory.
We are so grateful to Tory and the entire Hilton Garden Inn team for making our wedding weekend seamless and unforgettable. If you’re planning a wedding in Milwaukee, we couldn’t recommend this hotel more highly!
Booked a hotel block at the Hilton Garden Inn for a nearby wedding. Anne was great to work with throughout the process and helped increase our wedding block size multiple times. Ha...
ving the ability to rent the hotel shuttle for use exclusively for our wedding guests at the end of the night made late night transportation so easy too. The beautiful lobby area with a bar included made it a great place for guests to hangout throughout the weekend.
The most hotel room blocks for our wedding were here and we were pleased! My moms room (the room we wanted to use to get ready in/take photos in) was super dark so we weren't able ...
to take photos there, which was kind of a bummer. Also, there was construction so they blocked off the beautiful staircase for awhile, but then it opened back up. We were happy with everything overall and it was GREAT location (we got married at The Grain Exchange).
We used the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown for our room block and they were AWFUL. We had numerous guests call and be told that our room block was full, but when I would check with the...
coordinator it was never filled up. There is a huge disconnect between the booking desk and the room block coordinators and they do not care at all. I informed Anne multiple times that we had guests booking rooms at other hotels because they were being told our block was full, and she was unconcerned and just kept repeating to me that our block was not full. To make matters worse, when I went to check in on the day of my rehearsal, I was told that my room was not ready yet. I had asked for early check-in when I made the reservation many months prior to the event, called the day before checking in to again reiterate that I needed early check-in, and still was turned away at 1 pm when I tried to check-in. I left the hotel and came back at 3:30 (30 minutes AFTER normal check-in time) and was told that my room was still not ready. I was the bride and I needed to get dressed and ready for my rehearsal which was at 4:30 that same day. I could not get in to my room until 4 pm, after asking for early check-in numerous times and 1 hour after normal check-in time. PLEASE future brides - DO NOT BOOK YOUR BLOCK HERE. They are useless and you can do so much better downtown Milwaukee.
I booked a room block for our wedding at the HGI Milwaukee Downtown. Anne Schneider, the Sales Manager, was very difficult to work with. I originally planned to book a block lar...
ge enough for all of my guests at the Hilton Garden Inn because in my first conversation with her, she was open to 75 rooms without a 2 night minimum. After that initial conversation, she was all over the place with the stipulations of the block and the number of nights on Friday that needed to be included in addition to Saturday and how many rooms would or wouldn't "essentially be harming the hotel" (her words). When all of this caused confusion for me, she became very short with me and acted like I should know this is how room blocks work. She literally said "I would greatly appreciate a phone call as the emails are starting to get a little lengthy and I'm certain there is not an understanding of how our room blocks work". The room block booking process was brand new to me, as it is to most brides. Her attitude and wishy-washiness, and the very confusing, 6 page long contract made the whole thing so much more difficult than it needed to be. I also booked a room block at the Marriott Milwaukee Downtown and The Pfister and the process couldn't have been easier with them. While the hotel is very beautiful and our guests enjoyed their stay, the booking process was a nightmare.
My husband and I had one of our wedding blocks here, stayed here ourselves, got ready for our wedding in our rooms, and also had our Welcome Event here.
Our guests were very happy...
to stay in such a unique and beautiful Milwaukee hotel! Everyone on staff was very accommodating and made sure they had everything they needed to have the best stay they could. Location was also prime!
Our room was highly recommended from the manager we were working with and we loved it! Huge windows, plenty of space to get ready in, a high hook for my dress were just a few of the details we appreciated. The manager checked in several times to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We also got a personal note form her with a bucket of our favorite beer for our first night in. Along with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries the next day. Very nice touches and made us feel very special!
The Welcome Event couldn’t have gone more perfectly! Manager running the event, bartender and other staff were all on top of food, drinks and made sure we had everything we needed. Our guests loved the intimate space and this event allowed us to catch up with everyone before our big day.
For these three things I give five stars! Over the weekend, everything went even better than we could have imagined!
Where they lose a star is everything leading up… communication. Both my wedding planner and myself had trouble getting replies from our contact. Whom switched several times throughout our time leading up, and without being notified! It was so unfortunate what my wedding planner had to go through just to get some kind of reply. This was the most frustrating part of my whole wedding planning. Out of everything! But… come our wedding weekend everything at the hotel went perfectly and beyond expectations. So worth it, yes. But just know there will be frustrations leading up.
This was our recommended hotel for our wedding. We even had our Wedding-Eve Cocktail Party in the Atrium and everyone had a great time. Anne was super helpful during the planning p...

I will be writing two separate reviews - one for the guest experience and one for the event experience, which were two different experiences.

g there which was absolutely wonderful. I stayed here for my wedding weekend and had a room block here for my guests. We were treated like royalty, even though there was another wedding party there! The front desk staff and the housekeeping staff took the time to introduce themselves so I would know who they were if I had any issues. Our rooms were spotless - they even put extra towels and toiletries in my room, since they knew I would have my bridal party getting ready with me! In addition, we had some sweets and champagne left in our room for our wedding night. They were very accommodating for pictures on their beautiful staircase (which I would recommend)! The pricing was reasonable for my room block, but I did get married in late April - not during the summer, when I'm sure pricing is higher.
The low review is not because of the hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful. The low review is not for location, it was directly across the street from our wedding. The low review is...
similar to the other low reviews on this page. The service is awful. I would send emails that would go unanswered for weeks and then was told "oh it went to spam". I would make phone calls, still not a response. We paid for them to have our welcome bags handed out(never happened) and they messed up our room blocks so people could not get in the correct block. The service is beyond low standards.
I am writing this review because I stayed with the Hilton Garden Inn for my wedding night. My reception was across the street. I chose it because it was convenient and the hotel it...
self is stunning. We got to take beautiful photos the morning of on the staircase, and the hotel bar welcomed my family throughout the weekend.
The reason I am giving it a lower rating is because it cost an exorbitant amount to have my room block at this hotel. I want to give other brides a heads up! It is a two night minimum for you and your guests, as well as an extra add on event, that costs an additional fee, as well as a food and beverage minimum. So not only was I required to pay for the two nights, but also an additional $450.
On top of this, very few of my guests stayed here because of the two night minimum and the high cost for the room because it cost so much. It felt like it was not even worth it!
My upgraded "bridal suite" was smaller than most hotel rooms, so it was challenging to get ready and take pictures in it. Finally they put out a sign welcoming the two families and spelled the names wrong on not one, but two different signs. I felt very frustrated that I spent all this money to be at the Hilton Garden Inn for them to not take the time to make sure our families names were spelled correctly.
It is beautiful, and if you have the money to stay here, go for it. If you are getting married around downtown Milwaukee, I would recommend other hotels for your wedding night.
We worked with Melissa on a small block of rooms for some out of town guests for our wedding – despite us not hosting any additional events at the hotel, Melissa was flexible, resp...
onsive, and had Welcome signs and even custom His & Hers drink options for guests. We were very pleased with the level of customer service we received and know that these touches added to the weekend overall, especially for our guests.
Our daughter was married in January 2017, and the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown provided accommodations for our guests and the wedding party. We also had a buffet breakfast the morn...
ing after the wedding at the hotel.
The hotel staff were very helpful in setting up the block of rooms for our guests and planning the morning buffet breakfast.
We had the breakfast for our wedding guests in the hotel’s Wilder Room. The staff handling the breakfast was very accommodating. We were able to bring decorations from the wedding reception to the Wilder Room after the reception ended at 12:30 in the morning. When we came down to the buffet room in the morning we were delighted to see that the hotel staff had already put the decorations on the tables and around the Wilder room. The room was bright and cheerful. The buffet food was very good and the presentation was great! It was a perfect way to end a wonderful weekend.
The hotel itself is very historic and is quite charming. Our guests were impressed with the hotel decor and amenities and the hotel staff made them feel welcome and their stay very enjoyable The staff at the Hilton Garden Inn was helpful with planning and reserving rooms, and helping guests get around Milwaukee. They also were very pleasant about handling the vans we hired for extra transportation for the wedding. The guests really enjoyed their stay in Milwaukee and talked about coming back!
Overall the weekend was wonderful! Our guests were impressed with the wedding, our reception, the hotel, the whole experience, and the Hilton was a big part of it!
My husband and I recently got married on 1/13/17 and we chose to book a room block for our guests with the Hilton Garden Inn. The hotel itself is beautiful! It has a very grand mar...
ble staircase and a beautiful atrium inside which they gladly let us use for our "first look". We took a tour before booking there and saw several of the guest rooms and loved that each individual room in the hotel was a little different! (We also LOVED the super high ceilings!) The entire place feels very historic and luxurious! We worked with Melissa Frank throughout the entire process and she was fantastic!! Since our wedding was in winter and it was very cold out, we wanted to offer a shuttle for our guests from the hotel to the venue & back again. Melissa offered to call transportation vendors for us to get us a competitive price since we didn't have the time on our end, this meant so much to us!! She was always quick to respond, she sent follow ups when necessary, and was always happy to answer my many questions! The customer service at the hotel was very good too, everyone was super polite and professional. Several of our family and guests told us that the breakfast was excellent too. We really can't say enough good things about our experience here. The hotel and staff are top notch and my husband and I definitely recommend using them for your wedding or event!
We had really enjoyed staying at the Hilton Garden Inn while visiting our daughter in Milwaukee a couple of times previously. So when we started planning her wedding it made sense ...
to use this beautiful hotel as our base. The wedding was in Oct., 2015 at the Grain Exchange across the street from the hotel so it became the ideal location. We worked with Nita Ruplinger, Sales Manager and Sadie Kealey, Director of Sales to insure everything was perfect. We secured the room block, set up dressing areas for both the bride and groom and their attendants, as well as planning the post wedding brunch at the hotel. The facilities are outstanding and the history behind the building made it a great representation of Milwaukee for our guests - most of whom had never been to Wisconsin before. The elegant stairway helped create gorgeous photos for the bride's first look with her dad and groom. The brunch was perfect and well staffed. We couldn't have asked for a better team to work with or a better facility to make our daughter and son-in-law's wedding dreams come true. I highly recommend the Hilton Garden Inn for a great wedding weekend.

managers (Sadie and Melanie my requests in a timely fashion with no follow-up. Luckily, Nita took over and was able to process my requests in a short period of time. I just wish I had gotten to work with her earlier since before then I felt like I was never going to get a response. Thankfully it worked out in the end. The hotel is incredibly beautiful and made for some lovely photos. Our family loved it as well.

ple never seemed to know what was going on with the wedding. They were telling us things that were not in the contract and then two weeks before the wedding started adding on fees that were hidden in the contract. When we first put our initial down payment we were told that we did not have to pay the final bill until after the wedding, they ended up charging our credit card one week before the wedding. The day of the reception turned out good, but planning with them was a headache!
Now I know having a wedding during Summerfest isn't the best planning, but when it is one of the few weekends available for all of your vendors you have to grab it. The Hilton Gard...
en Inn was so difficult to get in touch with for blocks and they messed up some of the reservations for our guests. They had poor communication with my parents (the ones who worked with setting up the block). The only good things they had going for them were location to the reception venue and an upgraded suite for my new husband and myself. Our room was also charged for valet parking and for a bar fee when we went straight to the room after walking from our reception. Luckily the woman at the front desk was very helpful and cleared the charges for us. Perhaps things would have been much easier if Summerfest wasn't happening, but it was and our experience was one I wouldn't recommend.
