With over 24,000 sq. ft. and two ballrooms offering open floor plans and ornate details, these space require minimal décor due to the un-replicated beauty of the art deco architecture, however can easily be customized with personal touches to build upon the already elevated setting. The newly renovated Grand Ballroom sets the stage for a grand arrival with a sweeping staircase curvature, synonymous with the grandeur of the roaring twenties and silver screen leading personalities floating down to descend upon guests. Accented with 4 large half-moon crystal draped chandeliers, beautiful fluted scones, neutral tonality of cream and beige, and wood grain textures create an open palette to support the vision of larger weddings. Similarly the Heritage Ballroom bedecked with beautiful traditional tiered crystal chandeliers and eye-appealing symmetry complemented by soft tones is ideal for more intimate wedding celebrations. Explore unique reception spaces like the outdoor terrace and consider a suite as a beauty bar.
Guests will revel in the newly renovated guestrooms completion later this spring which will herald plush comforts and design to include a preppy linear plaid, crisp textures, linens, leathers and specialty materials, milling and molding with a balance of neutral and rich jewel tone colors. Added niceties for wedding guests include Evanston Corner Bistro, food to room delivery service, text concierge and gathering spaces throughout the hotel, such as fireside at the lobby or mingling on the terrace.

d calm to the process- everything felt easy, organized, and stress-free. I always felt like we were in the best hands, and that confidence allowed us to actually enjoy the planning instead of worrying about it.
The wedding day itself was perfect. I wouldn’t have changed a thing. It felt effortless- vendors worked together beautifully, the timeline flowed naturally, and our guests were able to relax and enjoy every moment. Having everyone stay at the hotel made the whole weekend feel connected and celebratory, like we were all part of one big family gathering.
And the food! It was just as amazing as it was at our tasting... maybe even better. We had so many guests tell us it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had, and the compliments kept coming all night.
We will always be grateful for Maureen and the entire Orrington team for making our dream wedding come to life. It was truly the most special day, and we couldn’t be happier that we chose this venue to start our marriage.

at's why this venue didn't work for us was personality clash for sure. It's a very nice venue. At the time we had a 120 head count and for that and the basic package was 30k including fees. Financially not worth it. But we did love that staircase coming down. So this is my review and our experience which I should be allowed to do without feeling to need to take the post down again. I hope this doesn't cause an escalate to anything!

ould tell that I made a great choice in choosing the venue because Robin just seemed to make everything easy and stress-free. During the tasting, I was really hoping to have a chance to taste the appetizers because that was mostly what I was planning on eating, and even though they don't usually do appetizers during the tasting, she convinced the chef to make a few of the popular ones so that we could try them! I wasn't at all expecting them to be able to do that for us, so it was amazing! The food, the room, and the people were all so amazing that I couldn't have imagined having it anywhere else. When I was originally choosing a venue, I didn't want to have it in they city because I knew that it would up the costs significantly. Having it here was perfect because it is in the middle of downtown Evanston, so there's still that fun downtown feel (and places are still open if you wanted to go out after the wedding) without quite the obscene prices.
The Orrington is AMAZING, and I can't recommend it enough!

I absolutely loved my stylist--she did my hair, make up, and nails herself. My bridesmaids also got their hair done as well as the flower girl and my personal attendant. The resort was big enough to accommodate all of us at once. They also let us bring in champagne and food. The group coordinator, Marcy, was super friendly, helpful, and nice. I felt that Grand Geneva was very accommodating and easy to work with, although admittedly pricey.

food service (sometimes scalding hot hors d'ovres that blistered the roof of my mouth) and with some of the staff's attitudes about helping with details. Overall, though, I would definitely use this venue again without hesitation.
