My husband and I had the most wonderful wedding reception here! The venue (the grand ballroom) is beautiful, with a stunning staircase leading down into the room. Usually hotel banquet food isn't great, but the reception food was EXCELLENT -- it was actually one of the things I was most excited for, and our guests loved it! We had about 270 guests, which is probably near the max number the room can actually hold (w/ 2 buffet tables & no dance floor). They were also incredibly accommodating for children & babies -- they had kids' meals ready and also high chairs/booster seats set out at specific tables as requested with our assigned seating. Maureen was also so awesome to work with!! She was so accommodating to all of our requests, big or small, and met with us several times to iron out details and make we felt okay w/ the arrangements. From the menu tasting to reserving side rooms for getting ready to surprise-upgrading our comped suite, we felt so taken care of. She was also present the night before and the whole day of the wedding to take care of any last-minute things. She and the rest of the staff were so warm and definitely helped us feel less stressed about the craziness of wedding planning. We have zero complaints whatsoever -- thank you so much for making our wedding day so special!!!

Our wedding at the Hilton Orrington was truly everything I dreamed of and more. From the very beginning, working with Maureen was a gift. She brought so much warmth, experience, and calm to the process- everything felt easy, organized, and stress-free. I always felt like we were in the best hands, and that confidence allowed us to actually enjoy the planning instead of worrying about it. The wedding day itself was perfect. I wouldn’t have changed a thing. It felt effortless- vendors worked together beautifully, the timeline flowed naturally, and our guests were able to relax and enjoy every moment. Having everyone stay at the hotel made the whole weekend feel connected and celebratory, like we were all part of one big family gathering. And the food! It was just as amazing as it was at our tasting... maybe even better. We had so many guests tell us it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had, and the compliments kept coming all night. We will always be grateful for Maureen and the entire Orrington team for making our dream wedding come to life. It was truly the most special day, and we couldn’t be happier that we chose this venue to start our marriage.

at's why this venue didn't work for us was personality clash for sure. It's a very nice venue. At the time we had a 120 head count and for that and the basic package was 30k including fees. Financially not worth it. But we did love that staircase coming down. So this is my review and our experience which I should be allowed to do without feeling to need to take the post down again. I hope this doesn't cause an escalate to anything!

ould tell that I made a great choice in choosing the venue because Robin just seemed to make everything easy and stress-free. During the tasting, I was really hoping to have a chance to taste the appetizers because that was mostly what I was planning on eating, and even though they don't usually do appetizers during the tasting, she convinced the chef to make a few of the popular ones so that we could try them! I wasn't at all expecting them to be able to do that for us, so it was amazing! The food, the room, and the people were all so amazing that I couldn't have imagined having it anywhere else. When I was originally choosing a venue, I didn't want to have it in they city because I knew that it would up the costs significantly. Having it here was perfect because it is in the middle of downtown Evanston, so there's still that fun downtown feel (and places are still open if you wanted to go out after the wedding) without quite the obscene prices. The Orrington is AMAZING, and I can't recommend it enough!

t recall what nails cost--$60 maybe. I absolutely loved my stylist--she did my hair, make up, and nails herself. My bridesmaids also got their hair done as well as the flower girl and my personal attendant. The resort was big enough to accommodate all of us at once. They also let us bring in champagne and food. The group coordinator, Marcy, was super friendly, helpful, and nice. I felt that Grand Geneva was very accommodating and easy to work with, although admittedly pricey.

The Orrington is an amazing venue for the drama and beauty of the main ballroom. The entrance down the stairs inspired joy and awe in our guests. There are a few details related to...

food service (sometimes scalding hot hors d'ovres that blistered the roof of my mouth) and with some of the staff's attitudes about helping with details. Overall, though, I would definitely use this venue again without hesitation.
