st room floors requires a keycard. Cherry on top - the showers are amazing and the room darkening curtains are very effective.

I recently stayed at the DoubleTree Hilton in Washington DC/Silver Spring, and my experience was absolutely outstanding. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed, comfortable, and genuinely valued as a guest.
What truly set this visit apart ...
was the exceptional customer service I received from Leo. She went above and beyond in every possible way to ensure my stay was smooth and enjoyable. Whether it was helping me with questions, making sure I had everything I needed, or simply greeting me with warmth and professionalism, Leo made a world of difference. It’s rare to encounter someone who not only takes pride in their work but also genuinely cares about the experience of each guest.
Because of Leo’s exceptional service, my stay was memorable for all the right reasons. She is a true asset to the DoubleTree team, and her dedication should be recognized and celebrated.

Wonderful hotel. A special shoutout to Lisa and front desk. I came in town for a surgery and they went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable. As a Diamond member I felt valued and welcomed. I love they don’t use those stinky scent ...
machines in the lobby like many other Hiltons. The room was cozy with ambient lighting, great water pressure in the shower. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Also, a very quiet hotel within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The underground garage parking is pretty easy to navigate, as well. I stayed in room 1205. Very quiet and close to elevators. Thank you Double Tree for an excellent stay!

My stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Washington DC Silver Spring was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time, and it was extremely disappointing given the DoubleTree brand's reputation.
The issues started immediately at check-in....
The front desk clerk had a very unpleasant and unwelcoming attitude. Instead of being welcomed, I felt like I was inconveniencing them by simply checking in. Customer service sets the tone for the stay, and unfortunately, the tone here was unprofessional from the start.
I was also surprised that this location does not offer a military discount upon check-in. I didn’t see the option when reserving the hotel, but usually, hotels are great at offering this accommodation upon arrival. Many Hilton properties support service members, so this was disappointing.
To make matters worse, I didn’t even receive the standard DoubleTree welcome cookie — a small gesture that is supposed to be part of the brand’s hospitality experience.
The elevator situation was also terrible. The wait times were ridiculously long, making it frustrating to get to and from the room.
However, the most concerning issue was cleanliness. When we entered the bathroom, we found dirty underwear left behind by a previous guest. This is completely unacceptable and raises serious questions about the hotel’s housekeeping standards and whether the room was properly cleaned at all.
Between the poor customer service, lack of attention to guests, extremely slow elevators, and unacceptable cleanliness, this stay fell far below Hilton standards. I sincerely hope corporate leadership looks into what is happening at this property, because this experience did not reflect the level of quality typically associated with the DoubleTree brand.
