This is literally a scam. I paid and haven’t received any communication from them. Can’t fill out my event on my event portal.. their customer service number is literally out of service. DO NOT BOOK

Never showed and stole my money.

This company is a SCAM!!! Please do not book. They arent even a real company anymore. :(

I would absolutely not recommend Hipstr. They cancelled on my wedding day 2 hours before they were supposed to arrive at my venue via email. I didn’t find out they weren’t not here until my day of coordinator found me at cocktail hour to let me know they still hadn’t arrived. If you are going to cancel day of they should have called myself or the coordinator to let they know. It didn’t feel like it was important to them to responsibly let someone know that they wouldn’t be showing up. Very disappointing.

I'd give a zero if possible. Booked in May 2025 , paid half the total($600) then. Haven't been able to reach anyone through the website,email or phone number(wasn't in service). I tried to complete the online portal but was unable to continue with the event planning. I left several tickets online for support, but no response. I tried to cancel, since it's now 1 month before our wedding, but was unsuccessful in getting any help. After reading the past few months of reviews, I agree , we got scammed. And we will have to dispute the charge with our bank and hopefully get our money back. THE KNOT, REMOVE THIS VENDOR!!!! I'm just thankful we caught this before our big day.

This company is completely unprofessional and has not returned any of my sister in laws emails, calls, or messages through this app. She paid in full to book them for our wedding that is next month. We were trying to figure out why it wouldn’t let us get to the next page when filling out the info sheet online, so she called and emailed to ask so we could get the details squared away for our wedding next month. She hasn’t gotten any responses and then that’s when we went through this rabbit hole of bad reviews and found out about the possible financial situation the company is in. They have her money and we want a refund but have not had anyone answer us!!!! DO NOT BOOK!!!!

The Knot - please remove this vendor from your website. They are going through a financial situation and are potentially going completely bankrupt. A previous employee found my email address along with 150 other people and email us to let us know that this company would not be showing up to our wedding day. Several other people have followed up on the thread to let other customers know that Hipstr did not show up to their wedding. Company has been non responsive to any of my emails and they don’t have a phone number listed. Please stay far away! Weddings are stressful enough without scam companies.

If I could give HIPSTR Photobooth ZERO stars, I would. This company is a complete scam and absolutely ruined a huge part of my wedding. I paid them in full months before my wedding, had everything confirmed, and then… they just never showed up. No phone call, no email, no explanation. On the most important day of my life, they simply disappeared. What makes it even worse is the total lack of accountability. After the wedding, I reached out again and again—calls, emails, messages. They never once answered me back. They took my money, vanished, and have ignored me ever since. That is theft, plain and simple. I cannot stress enough how disgusting and unprofessional this company is. They advertise themselves as a fun, trendy photo booth service for weddings and events, but in reality, they are unreliable, dishonest, and completely untrustworthy. Imagine being a bride or groom, thinking you’ve secured something special for your guests, only to find out you’ve been lied to and ghosted. That’s exactly what happened to me. Please don’t make the same mistake I did. Do NOT hire HIPSTR Photobooth. They are a fraudulent company that will take your money, give you nothing in return, and ruin part of your event. Save yourself the stress, disappointment, and anger—and choose literally ANY other vendor.

SCAM!!! CHECK GOOGLE REVIEWS! Not sure how they’re padding their Knot reviews but this company is a scam and will not show up to your wedding. A Whistleblower from the company started a mass email in the spring saying Hisptr has not been fulfilling their contracts, not paying their employees, not showing up to weddings, but still contracting new couples to scam. Have gotten dozens of emails on a mass 500 person chain of others who have been screwed over and ghosted. They would not reimburse so I had to argue with my credit card company to get the money back.

I would give no stars if it was possible. This place is a SCAM! DO NOT USE. They cancelled a DAY before my wedding. They also refuse to return any calls or emails.

We booked Hipstr for a photo booth at our daughter’s wedding on July 13, 2025, and paid in full back in January. Unfortunately, on July 1st—just two weeks before the wedding—we were informed that they still had not assigned a photographer. This, coupled with several alarming emails stating they were “going out of business” and an influx of negative reviews, caused serious concern. After speaking directly with a company representative and receiving written confirmation that we could cancel and would be refunded within 2–4 weeks, we agreed to cancel. We also recorded the call with their permission. As of today, we have not received the refund, well beyond the promised timeline. We’ve attempted to resolve the matter privately and have now filed a dispute with our bank. We are extremely disappointed and cannot recommend this company.

We bought the package that includes a photo album. It’s been over 9 months, and we still haven’t received one. Emails back and forth have been cookie cutter responses or no responses at all.

TERRIBLE! I booked them for my wedding in March and did not receive any sort of confirmation or anything. Spent hours the day of trying to get a hold of someone to make sure someone was coming to our wedding. Thank god the Photo Booth came fine but the lady running it was not friendly at all, looked miserable the entire time and then I realized she had a full on photoshoot by HERSELF…I was so confused when I received my photo gallery. Like who is this random lady who took 20 photos of herself for my wedding album? It was so strange that I couldn’t help but laugh. BTW NEVER received the wedding album that I PAID for and they do NOT print photos on site. I didn’t realize this, and none of my guest received the photos via text because the lady running it never said anything. Reached out to the several times with no response about my book. Literally go with anyone else unless you like additional stress on your wedding day, and AFTER!

I booked them in August, then found out four months before my event was happening that they were scamming people, canceling last minute, and not providing a refund. They sent out emails to try and tell people that they are “trying their best” and “want to do better” however that is not acceptable when we paid almost a thousand dollars for a bare minimum Photo Booth service. Their phone number does not work and I can’t find an actual address for this place. They also didn’t respond to my emails or the ticket on the website I made to cancel my event (due to all the bad things I was hearing). It was evident as they still haven’t responded that they would not work with me to give my money back, so I filled a dispute with my credit card and was able to get my money back. I would avoid this company at all costs. It was so frustrating that this company was my biggest issue while planning my wedding.

If I could give zero stars, I would. The week before the event in September 2024, I received an email saying they were giving us a complimentary upgrade to a book that they would print all of the pictures from that night and send us separately, instead of printing out the photos at the event and putting them in a book then, with guest comments that were submitted. I would have been perfectly fine with the original plan, but accepted the nice gesture. What a mistake. I have reach out every month since the event and have only heard how I will receive an eta once they have a tracking number. We are now 8 months after the event, I can’t seem to get ahold of anyone who can give me any sort of update or status on my photo book or when it might even be shipped (which at this point, does the book even exist?). The lack of communication from them after sharing my frustrations is abysmal. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone, stay away from Hipstr. Find anyone else for a Photo Booth, especially if you want the finished product you were promised and paid for. It is not worth this frustration.

This vendor was the worst!! Their communication was (and still is) awful every step of the way. The book that was included in our package has still not arrived 5 months after the event, well later than the 2 weeks they promised. We also never got our printed versions that they promised to send which made us question if our guests got theirs. The only saving grace was the person who was on site on the day, he was very professional and engaged well with our guest. DO NOT HIRE THEM! Huge red flag that they are a sponsored vendor on this site.

We had them at our wedding in August and are incredibly disappointed, fully feels like a scam. They said they would bring props. They did not. They said they were going to print out the photos for everyone. They did not print a single photo They said they were going to give us a photo book. They did not. We were supposed to get a link with all the digital files 3-5 days later and it’s now been 2 weeks. All the photos are low res. The backdrop wasn’t real it was green screen and did not work well. Book literally anyone else.

We had a really wonderful experience with Hipstr at our wedding. The entire booking/coordination process was easy and our guests absolutely loved the photobooth. Highly recommend!
