We overall had a good experience with His N Hers. There are definitely Pros and Cons, and depending on your preferences, the cons may be a dealbreaker for you.
Scott and Kathy we...re great at communicating with us prior to the Wedding. They are also a good price when you consider the two services you are getting. Scott is an excellent announcer, and has a natural feel for the energy of the guests. Kathy was the MVP of our day. She helped relieve all stress off the bride, made sure things were running smoothly, and helped us adjust to any changes. She helped set up and tear down.
The biggest con of the night was the music. A friend of mine who had booked His N Hers mentioned the same thing about not all of their songs being played, but that didn't steer me away because I understand feeling the vibes of the audience. A majority of the songs that were played were not on our playlist. Our reception was a little shorter than we thought, due to speeches going long, so I'm sure there had to be cuts, but it seemed like we were dancing to Scott's music, with a couple of our songs sprinkled in. Earlier in the day, Scott even came to us and mentioned we had a lot of Morgan Wallen on our playlist, yet not a single song from him was played.
We also incorporated traditional Greek music into our reception, including our bridal dance, and a couple songs to be sprinkled in later. I told him my vision, but he kind of shut me down and questioned if people would actually dance (if you are Greek, you know this is not the case). I emphasized the importance of this, to the point when I met Scott at the rehearsal dinner, he made a comment he thought I would be darker and I don't look very Greek to him. He also made a comment to my mom that he "isn't a jukebox" that night, which was strange. He did play the original Bridal dance Greek song for us, but would not have played any more songs if my sister didn't speak to him personally. He didn't even download the song (which was provided), thank God the venue had Wifi.
Even the big final song, was not a song that was of ours, which I thought was pretty ballsy of him.
At the end of the night, we did a Sparkler exit. We purchased XL sparklers that last up to 10 minutes. When the bride's family instructed the audience to light their sparklers for us, he interrupted and instructed them not to, and it was just chaos.
Late into the reception when we were getting ready for an outfit change, he came to me and asked if he could play "Wobble", since we put no line dances. We agreed since we weren't out there, but when we came back, he was out front, dancing, care free, almost like he just wanted to dance to "his song", which, we heard enough of.
I do want to note, he played an obscure song that we requested, from an mp3 file we sent, which was appreciated.
Kathy did her best to relay our pleas to Scott, sometimes to no avail, but we appreciate her effort. Unfortunately, Scott and Kathy also were constantly bickering, which usually stemmed from Kathy trying to relay our requests, and Scott shutting her down. At rehearsal dinner, the bickering was playful and funny the first couple times, but it got old really quick, and many people made comments about that to us.
Overall, His N Hers helped our day run smoothly, and up until the reception, left nothing but a positive experience. If you aren't big on choosing your music, I recommend their services. I highly recommend Kathy as a Day of Coordinator.
