Historic Bleak House was built in the 1850s as a wedding present for the young newlywed Armstrongs. It has stood the test of time since then and has come to take its place among the fine historical homes of the South. The house and gardens provided the most breathtaking setting for the evening. Our guests were absolutely captivated by the beauty, history, and elegance of the property. We received countless compliments throughout the night, with so many guests telling us how much they loved the house and gardens. The setting itself truly helped make our celebration unforgettable.
A very special thank-you goes to Rose, who was absolutely wonderful to work with. She was supportive, accommodating, responsive, and genuinely invested in helping us create a beautiful celebration. She made the planning process feel easy and enjoyable, and she was incredibly helpful in bringing all of our ideas to life. Her kindness and willingness to accommodate our requests made such a difference.
The Historic Bleak House didn’t just provide a venue—it became part of the magic of the evening. The beautiful home, stunning gardens, and exceptional care we received made our daughter’s engagement party a tremendous success and created memories our family and guests will cherish for years to come.

This venue was PERFECT for our wedding on May 6, 2017! Stephanie was the venue coordinator and she actually came on board just a few months prior to our wedding. This at first made...
us nervous but we were soon put at ease and felt even more confident in her abilities than the previous coordinator. She made sure the grounds were beautiful for our wedding day and was readily available the week prior for us to come by and start getting things together (we were a DYI wedding and had built a rather large arbor and farm table for the event). She helped make sure things ran smoothly especially in the case of our unexpected weather (rain and a drop in 30 degrees outside). We had both the ceremony and reception here. There are so many options for how you want your event to look and play out (from the garden tiers to up in the house). We chose this venue for the look of the beautiful garden tiers, the wisteria walkway, and the fascinating history of the house itself. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone!

hat lead to the river. Perhaps my favorite part of it is the arbor that is covered with vines and twinkle lights. We set up the bars, food and dancing on different terraces, which helped make the space very unique and comfortable for guests. I could not have been happier with our reception venue. It was breathtakingly beautiful!
